This national energy tax, based on shaky science decreed 'settled' by Al (Chairman Planet) Gore, will result in the largest tax increase in American history (until of course Obama's National Health Care plans start rolling in); Waxman-Markey will cause gas and electricity prices to skyrocket (at a time when we can least afford to meddle with an already weak economy); and will add to our already spiraling federal deficit. We simply cannot afford this legislation at this time.

1. Reduce aggregate gross domestic product (GDP) by $9.4 trillionBut Al Gore would be finally be satisfied.
2. Destroy an average of 1-3 million jobs, every year
3. Raise electricity rates 90 percent after adjusting for inflation
4. Raise inflation-adjusted gasoline prices by 58 percent
5. Raise residential natural gas prices by 55 percent
6. Raise an average family's annual energy bill by $$1,241 annually
7. Increase the federal debt by 26 percent, which is $28,728 per person, after inflation
And a hell of a lot richer.
