To hell with...the Constitution??

Statists are ascendant. We need no further proof than having witnessed the Obama - Pelosi Health Care bill being rammed through Congress late on a Saturday night. At American Thinker, Jon N. Hall writes...
But now Congress is ramming through their abortion of a bill by the thinnest of majorities. The House just passed its version 220 to 215 -- a 3-vote margin to pass the "mother of all entitlements." The Senate is considering its options, among them the "nuclear option" (called "reconciliation"), which would allow them to get around a filibuster.

If Congress were to do the right thing and initiate an amendment to enshrine the "individual mandate" in the Constitution...it would fail miserably. If America is still America, Americans will not tolerate being told they have to buy something, especially if it's for no other reason than that they exist. If ObamaCare becomes law, folks will drop their insurance out of principle. They'll file suits against the feds. The states will resist, perhaps rebel. And great will be the tumult thereof.

I'm afraid Congress has not only misread the Constitution, but they've also misjudged the American people. Or maybe they just don't know what country they live in.
Well, Jon, the purpose of these statist proggtards is to fundamentally CHANGE the country they live in. I'm not alone in fearing that they will destroy it in the process.

OH, some good news: that so-called 'Republican' who voted for ObamaCare, GOP Congressman Anh "Joseph" Cao (R, LA) is losing support in his district...
NEW ORLEANS — The only Republican in the House to vote for a Democrat-backed health care bill says two fundraisers for him have been canceled since Saturday’s vote.

Rep. Anh “Joseph” Cao (gow) said Tuesday some campaign contributors have also asked for their money back.

...

Cao, a Vietnamese-American, represents a mostly black, mostly Democratic New Orleans-based district. He narrowly defeated Democratic incumbent William Jefferson last year after Jefferson was indicted on corruption charges.
Well, his hands were tied then. When in KatrinaLand, comprised mostly of looters and moochers, you have to do as they want you to do. Obviously.

I agree!

I remember when the ascendant statists passed that insane law in Tennessee that required ALL drivers to carry liability insurance. Remember the riots? The rebellions?

I personally filled my old Delta '88 with napalm, put a brick on the pedal, and drove that sucker right into the State Farm Offices. And my brother threw a garbage truck full of hot magma through a third-story window. He's really strong!

Not the same at all. Liability insurance you need; if your beater hits my Lexus, then you damn well better be able to pay for it. (Oh, I have plenty of 'Uninsured Motorist' coverage. I know how you deadbeats try to get around paying for your right to drive on my roads. )

Wow!

So you are a statist. You just said, in other words, that individual freedom to purchase or not purchase what they want should be tempered by the "need" of society for stability. Unrestrained laissez-faire capitalism would lead to an undesirable outcome, i.e. your car being damaged by deadbeats. And you claim ownership of public works, recognizing your stake in collective society.

I knew you were a closet Democrat! You can come out of the closet now, sir. Come on. Come out. And bring that life-sized cardboard cutout of Obama with you. You can kiss it in public now. It's safe.

But... what would you say to your brothers, those brave teabaggers and freedom fighters who chafe every day under the oppressive yoke of forced insurance? Why should perfect drivers like themselves, people so smart and skilled that they will never be in an accident, be FORCED to pay for the incompetence of others?

ObamaNation dot com...

"Dear Friend of Life,

Thank you for your interest in ObamaNation.com. Just before the election thousands visited this powerful website. Interesting enough, now that Barack Obama has been elected President of the United States visits to ObamaNation.com have skyrocketed.

Now, ObamaNation.com has a new mission. The battle has just begun! We MUST expose Obama’s radical pro-abortion agenda to the world. We won’t oppose Obama personally. We applaud the fact that America has elected an African American president. We will, however, oppose his pro-abortion policies!

Obama wants to:

• Nominate pro-abortion justices on the US Supreme Court. He may get the opportunity to nominate up to three justices in the next four years.
• Pass the Freedom of Choice Act. In 2007, Obama told the Planned Parenthood Action Fund that the Freedom of Choice Act would be the first piece of legislation he would sign as president.

Obama has already:

Family Research Council's Obama's First 100 Days - Terror For The Unborn.

Obama's First 100 days - Very Much of The Same Hypocrisy. "

Good for them.

(I invented "Obonga", BTW... )
