I remember the ugliness after Tony Snow died; the loony left had multiple olbergasms. God forbid, if Rush passes, what we’d see would be ten thousand times worse.

ReplyDeleteelfradio - I did not agree with much of what was said about Ted, however there is a difference. Many folks who are older remember the bridge. The car. The Booze. The dead Intern.
Snow or Rush were never responsible for the death of a young woman. Never used their power and last name to avoid the consequenses of that death. They never made up a unplausable excuse as to why they spent more time concocting an alibi with their lawyer instead of calling the authorities. Mostly because they were never responsible for a young womans death.
Therefore, I would argue that much of the language directed at Ted after his death was a result of that and justified to a large extent.
Most peopel disliked Ted because he represents an elitist class that seems to believe and act as if they are above the law. In Ted's case he was to a large extent immune to the consequenses of his actions. Actions that would have landed most other politicians and certainly an average joe like me in the slammer with a court date.
What did Rush and Snow do to deserve the hateful things said about them? They had/have different beliefs. Thats it.
Kennedy at best is guilty of manslaughter, DUI and leaving the scene where as Snow and Rush were guilty of....being republicans.
In other words you are comparing apples to oranges.
