Two Sources for Andersen's Ayers - Obama Dreams authorship link

Yes, mainstream journalists, Chris Andersen has two Hyde Park sources for his published work tying Barack Obama's 1995 memoir "Dreams From My Father" to Bill Ayers.

Obama claimed that he wrote that book without any help ( "I've written two books," Obama told an audience of teachers in Virginia last year. "I actually wrote them myself.").

His next book, 2006's Audacity of Hope, was not of the same quality (authors usually improve over time, no?) and probably was written by Obama, himself.

What does this mean?

Well, if the mainstream press actually picks up on Jack Cashill's work, and follows up on Chris Andersen's bestselling novel Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage, and finds this information to be true, then we have a liar as a President.

YOU LIE!!!11!!1!

Whoopi Goldberg approves of "rape", but not of "rape-rape"? Roman Polanski, come home!

ABC's The View. I know, stupid show, but this is even downgraded from their normal low level of teh stoopid. Whoopi Goldberg:
“I know it wasn’t rape-rape. It was something else but I don’t believe it was rape-rape. He went to jail and and when they let him out he was like ‘You know what, this guy’s going to give me a hundred years in jail I’m not staying,’ so that’s why he left.”

Liberal Democrats propose opening ObamaCare to illegals

Sure, why not? As long as we have printing presses, we have money, right?
Liberals seek health-care access for illegals

"Legal permanent residents should be able to purchase their plans, and they should also be eligible for subsidies if they need it. Undocumented, if they can afford it, should be able to buy their own private plans. It keeps them out of the emergency room," said Rep. Michael M. Honda, California Democrat and chairman of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.
They can buy insurance right now. No one is stopping them. They buy auto insurance for their rides, right? But it's so much easier just to duck into an emergency room and pay...nothing. Why not go for their votes, Dems, and just eliminate even the suggestion of requiring some personal responsibility?

Now, legal immigrants should be eligible for the same benefits (sigh) as anyone else. But I don't see how we can reward lawbreakers, because they are here, well, illegally. And they're trying so hard to integrate, you know? Just like the immigrants of yore, who make up the backbone of this nation, right? Right?

What I'll do for $33.18?

Why, spend 2 minutes creating A Masterwork for Iowahawk's "Endowment for the Arts $33.18 Steel Cage Art Death Match". Somehow I missed the original post, and there's plenty of quality artistes vying for the grand prize. But, undeterred, I'm joining the fray!

With deep apologies to Goya (as if he's around to care) I present "The Circling of the Obama".

From a description of the original...
"Goya's "Burial of the Sardine" represents the obsequies of carnival... He engraved a world turned upside-down, in other words, the Saturnalia; the donkey, the he-goat, the monkey, the cat, the bat, the crippled, the mad, the hanged, the man skeleton, men-chickens, men sawn in two, flagellants, the tribunals of the Inquisition, nightmares, flying men and bulls, brigands, rapes, tortures, the stake, murders, executions, abandoned children, human sacrifice, cannibals; foetuses, gnomes, giants and dwarfs, sorcerers, devils, spectres, the fates; prostitution, prisons, famine, shipwreck, fire, plague."
What better way to represent modern Democrats, our loopy friends to the Left? We can certainly find the bats; there are ample examples of the mad; we watch them toss out fetuses as if they were shedding clothes at a bacchanal. The celebration - worship of Dear Leader is found every time one flicks on the TV or reads a mainstream publication. Can the inquisition, the tribunals for us described as "The Mob", be far behind?

Yes, we see our values turned upside-down, and the worst sorts of people are celebrated, where Roman Polanski can return to the U.S. as a forgiven man, after having popped a quaalude and raped a teenager and he'll fit right in with the rest of the carnival.

But forget all that...IT'S O!'s PARTY TIME !!!111!!1ELEVENTY!!!

My Gawd...what is that on their heads? ? (Where I try my damndest to annoy the Chinese Military)

Roman Polanski Arrest Backlash: "...a scary America that has just shown its face." : French Ministerial Reaction

Updating my earlier post.

Can you believe this?
In Paris, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said he hoped Polanski could be quickly freed by the Swiss, calling the apprehension a “bit sinister.” He also told France-Inter radio that he and his Polish counterpart Radek Sikorski wrote to Clinton, and said there could be a decision as early as Monday if a Swiss court accepts bail.

Polanski was “thrown to the lions,” said French Culture Minister Frederic Mitterrand. “In the same way that there is a generous America that we like, there is also a scary America that has just shown its face.”
Again: this criminal drugged and anally raped a 13 year old girl, then fled the country to avoid jail time. He's been hiding in France and Europe since 1978, and some people (many people, mostly 'artists') think he's been punished enough...
Polanski has already “atoned for the sins of his young years,” Jacek Bromski, head of the Polish Filmmakers Association, told The AP. “He has paid for it by not being able to enter the U.S. and in his professional life he has paid for it by not being able to make films in Hollywood.”
Uggggh. If this is settled, and he can start making films in Hollyweird, then maybe I should rethink my position. A lifetime of exile from the United States might be fitting, since that is considered 'punishment' by these effete 'elites'.

Let him rot in France for the rest of his life. They've obviously earned him.

So much for Obama's 'Winning' Policy Strategies. Unless "Neophyte", "Pantywaist" means "Good Laugh!" in India, England, and "Missile Test" in Iran.

Nightmare presidency

The Pioneer Edit Desk

Obama is ruining India’s security climate

He may not relish the comparison but it is now becoming increasingly obvious that Mr Barack Obama is the most hostile American President for India since Richard Nixon.

...

Given the intensely and admirably egalitarian nature of the United States presidential election process, it has always been a theoretical possibility that the country will send to the White House a person inexperienced in global affairs and unequal to the international situation before him. Often this has not been the case, and incumbents have risen to the job. Sixty years ago, Harry S Truman had limited first-hand knowledge of great power bargaining but turned out to be farsighted enough to anticipate the Cold War. Mr Obama is the antithesis of this phenomenon. He is completely out of his depth and will probably leave behind a dangerous and unsure legacy. India could have done without this neophyte.
Wait...I thought Barack Hussein Obama was supposed to 'restore America to credibility', to improve our image around the world, to return to the US the awe and admiration we had lost because of the evil GEORGE BOOOOOOOOOSH!; and we would henceforth hear nothing but accolades from doting foreign leaders and their presses? What's happened to that?

Last week, French President Sarkozy has mocked! Barack Hussein Obama...
President Obama dreams of a world without weapons ... but right in front of us two countries are doing the exact opposite. Iran since 2005 has flouted five security council resolutions. North Korea has been defying council resolutions since 1993. I support the extended hand of the Americans, but what good has proposals for dialogue brought the international community? More uranium enrichment and declarations by the leaders of Iran to wipe a UN member state off the map.
Oh, and this from the Telegraph.co.UK...
Barack Obama: President Pantywaist restores the satellite states to their former owner

Barack Obama’s chances of re-election in three and a half years’ time may be evaporating at unprecedented speed, but his presidential ambitions could still be realised in another direction. He would be a shoo-in to win the next Russian presidential election, so high is his popularity now running in the land of the bear and the knout. Obama has done more to restore Russia’s hegemonial potential in Eastern and Central Europe than even Vladimir Putin.
We knew that the English wouldn't long tolerate BHO's arrogant indifference. From manhandling the Queen to buying cheap trinkets for use as State gifts, to returning the bust of Winston Churchill, minor things sure, but indicative of a shallow thinker.

But Putin loves him! As does Chavez and Castro! That means so much to us, doesn't it?

Oh. And Iran, after Obama waggled his finger in Ahmadenijad's general direction last week, has responded. With missile tests. What did we expect, when BHO frankly told us he could care less about winning?

"This isn't a football game. I'm not interested in victory."

Ahmadenijad is laughing at the Joker.

Titans go 0-3; worse start since 2006 (0-5)

The Oilers went to New York and couldn't get started, dropping 14 points in less than 8 minutes. They came back, actually led the game for a quarter, but couldn't stave off rookie Jets QB Mark Sanchez, who set an NFL record by winning his first three games.

In 2006 they finished 8-8 after starting 0-5, after that horrible 4-12 (youngest team in the league!) 2005 season.

I blame the legacy name revisit: we were the Oilers today, playing the Titans.

Whatever. It's panic time. Time to break out the ship with no name...

Is the season cursed? Is the ship sailing too soon? And, who should wear the albatross, anyways? Last time I pinned it on Floyd Reese, for the 'PacMan Curse'. Dunno who gets it this time.

But I'm anxious to pin it on somebody right now.

Roman Polanski finally arrested, may face extradition to the U.S. ...

...for raping, sodomizing and otherwise molesting a 13 year old girl in 1977.

This Yahoo! news story (that will be gone in a couple months; they 'expire' for whatever reason...
Swiss arrest Polanski on US request in sex case

ZURICH – Director Roman Polanski was arrested by Swiss police as he flew in for the Zurich Film Festival and faces possible extradition to the United States for having sex in 1977 with a 13-year-old girl, authorities said Sunday.

Polanski was scheduled to receive an honorary award at the festival when he was apprehended Saturday at the airport, the Swiss Justice Ministry said in a statement. It said U.S. authorities have sought the arrest of the 76-year-old director around the world since 2005.

"There was a valid arrest request and we knew when he was coming," ministry spokesman Guido Balmer told The Associated Press. "That's why he was taken into custody."

Balmer said the U.S. would now have to make a formal extradition request.

...

In 1977, he was accused of raping the teenager while photographing her during a modeling session. The girl said Polanski plied her with champagne and part of a Quaalude pill at Jack Nicholson's house while the actor was away. She said that, despite her protests, he performed oral sex, intercourse and sodomy on her.

Polanski was allowed to plead guilty to one of six charges, unlawful sexual intercourse, and was sent to prison for 42 days of evaluation.

Lawyers agreed that would be his full sentence, but the judge tried to renege on the plea bargain. Aware the judge would sentence him to more prison time and require his voluntary deportation, Polanski fled to France.

The victim, Samantha Geimer, who long ago identified herself publicly, has joined in Polanski's bid for dismissal, saying she wants the case to be over. She sued Polanski and reached an undisclosed settlement.

Obama and the UN Flag

I sense a deference in the air.

Uggh. The UN is not the U.S.A., and I could care less about their flag or their purpose. Most of their member-states hate the U.S., and Barack Obama plays to their hates by plying his continuous apologetic tone; as the Telegraph puts it...
Obama’s popularity at the UN boils down essentially to his willingness to downplay American global power. He is the first American president who has made an art form out of apologizing for the United States, which he has done on numerous occasions on foreign soil, from Strasbourg to Cairo. The Obama mantra appears to be – ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do to atone for your country. This is a message that goes down very well in a world that is still seething with anti-Americanism.
Every where Obama goes, he apologizes for 'American Slights' (faults that are trumpeted by Leftists and soft Marxists here at home...you know who you are), then Obama embraces the likes of Chavez and the Castro, and seriously goes out of his way to engage Ahmadinejad and Abbas (the child-killing terrorist who denied the holocaust, and the terrorist who financed the 1972 killings of 12 Israeli athletes); of course Obama wants the US to play a special role in the UN. Probably he would hand over the keys if he could.

He should be careful there. The U.S. is still a constitutional republic, and our constitution (to which Obama took an oath) has specific rules set aside for high-level treason.

Let Obama remember the country in which he was born, the country in which he was raised, and put US first. We are secondary to no other nation-state and especially not to the caterwauling hyenas who make up the UN.

...Remember when we told you Barack Obama had Bill Ayers ghostwrite his bestselling novel 'Dreams From My Father'...?

Well, guess what. We've had another writer-journalist, Christopher Anderson, unwittingly verify that story. From American Thinker...
Andersen Book Blows Ayers' Cover on 'Dreams'

Jack Cashill

In his new book, "Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage," Best-selling celebrity journalist, Christopher Andersen, has blown a huge hole in the Obama genius myth without intending to do so.

Relying on inside sources, quite possibly Michelle Obama herself, Andersen describes how Dreams came to be published -- just as I had envisioned it in my articles on the authorship of Dreams.  With the deadline pressing, Michelle recommended that Barack seek advice from "his friend and Hyde Park neighbor Bill Ayers."
To flesh out his family history, Obama had taped interviews with various family members.  Andersen writes, "These oral histories, along with a partial manuscript and a truckload of notes, were given to Ayers." Andersen quotes a Hyde Park neighbor, "Everyone knew they were friends and that they worked on various projects together.  It was no secret. Why would it be? People liked them both."

Andersen continues, "In the end, Ayers's contribution to Barack's Dreams From My Father would be significant--so much so that the book's language, oddly specific references, literary devices, and themes would bear a jarring similarity to Ayers's own writing."

Ruh roh. Things are starting to unravel. The Obama mythos is, indeed, folding like cardboard.

Conservatives (sorry, "Rightroots") 'own' the Twitter, which is, like, say, having a nice AK-47.

Matt Lewis, a "GOP blogger and TV commentator", posts on the evil Huffingtonpost...
If politics is war, and words are weapons, then Twitter can only be compared to the AK-47. The weapon, of course, was revolutionary specifically because of its simplicity. While Americans made superior weapons, the rugged AK became a revolutionary icon. The reason, of course, was because anyone -- a farmer, a new recruit -- sadly, even a child -- could learn to use it in a matter of minutes.

Twitter is the same way. While liberals have invested countless dollars and hours creating "superior" infrastructure, Twitter essentially did the legwork for conservatives, building platform for conservatives to exploit.
It's about time we did something right.

Titans - Texans. Uggggh. Nassty. Loss. 0-2.

(Tennessee Titans Cheerleader)

Yep, let me say that again: Uggggh. (My new favorite word I guess?) Titans lose 34-31, and they shouldn't have.

Quick overview (because I have a headache and can't put up a lot of pictures right now): The Titans had 10 days to prep for an 0-1 Texans team. They were up 21-7 early in the first half. They blew it, simply blew it, on defense (and a couple questionable offensive plays as well).

Why Jeff Fisher doesn't move Vince Young in for a couple sets (not as a permanent replacement or anything, just you know, game him a bit to keep the opposing defensive coordinator shaking his head and having to game for a QB who is mobile and doesn't simply throw the ball out of bounds if he gets in a bit of trouble...NTTAWWT, but it's a no-brainer sort of thing to expect Kerry Collins to toss the ball out of bounds and not try to, say, run for a first down or even a TD on occasion)?

Couple quick pics...this large U.S. flag was unfurled pre-game. A beautiful sight; they do this every year, first game. Ft. Campbell's Airborne, of course.

Flyover by A-10 Warthogs, again out of Ft. Campbell. (I overexposed these, so it's shoebox for now, until I have a chance to redo the damned thing.)

The score was tied 24-all at halftime, so Jeff Fisher gives his best exhortation speech right there on the sideline...

Next thing you know, the refs are giving away possessions (after the Texans flounced a kickoff, the Titans recovered, the refs gave it to the Texans for whatever reason. Earned them long and loud boos and "REF SUCKS!" reverberated around the stadium for quite a while. That was at the end of the third quarter.)

Then, this massive and harmful scrum on the Texan's sideline...

Nick Harper goes over and picks a fight or something, Jason Jones goes in to help his dumbass teammate, throws a punch and gets ejected. One of the defensive tackles the Titans would need to win the game, lost because of some bad behaviors. Fisher will make 'em pay. Oh, yeah.

(This image is huge; I didn't scale it before posting, so you can click on it and get a feel for the scope of idiocy Harper had to pick a fight against such overwhelming odds.)

Now, I've got a damned headache. Good night!

"Independent Prosecutor for ACORN": called for by the Chicago (!) Tribune

Just how much of a massive blow to Democrats and Leftists will James O'Keefe III's and Hannah Giles' $1300 sting operation become? And will Barack Obama, deeply dug in with ACORN and SEIU, be ensnared?

Already we've seen ACORN dethroned and the Main Stream National Media embarrassed. The New York Times, old gray lady that she is, was caught standing around in her knickers looking for bunnies. Now that the story is unfolding, she can chase and play catchup. Or run damage control, more likely.

Today's Chicago Tribune opines...
Independent prosecutor for ACORN

ACORN is in very deep, very public trouble, and the U.S. attorney general should appoint an independent prosecutor to investigate.

...

Independent prosecutors should not be appointed lightly. But in this case, there are good reasons why Atty. Gen. Eric Holder and other political appointees in the Justice Department should step aside. First, although no allegations have yet touched the Obama campaign, ACORN did have significant ties to the campaign and other progressive causes. Published reports show that ACORN and its subsidiaries received some $800,000 from the Obama campaign to get out the vote. Second, ACORN is intimately tied to the Service Employees International Union, one of President Barack Obama's most powerful and vocal supporters.

ACORN's close ties to the progressive movement and Democratic Party mean that there will be little public confidence if Holder decides not to pursue an ambitious investigation and ultimately prosecute. [emboldenings mine -ed.]
So the groundswell begins. A bit late, but we on the Right can look back and point out "We told you so!"

Across the pond, the UK Times Online pokes and funs at the expense of "US Liberals"...
Candid Camera pranks smoke out US liberals

A CONSERVATIVE student armed with a video camera and a wicked sense of humour is humbling some of the most hallowed liberal institutions in the United States using a technique described as “Candid Camera for the internet age”.

In one of his video coups James O’Keefe, 25, telephoned the offices of Planned Parenthood in Columbus, Ohio, a pro-choice abortion group that is a target of the right, and asked to make a donation to pay for abortions for minorities.

He added: “There’s way too many black people in Ohio.” The official simply laughed and agreed to his terms.

When he called its Idaho branch, a helpful member of staff told him he “absolutely” could restrict his donation to abortions of black babies, raising no objection even after he explained that his goal was to shield his son from future competition from minorities for university entry.

Oh, you haven't heard of that one, have you? Where O'Keefe proved that the love of a leftist's life (if he or she, you know, survives an abortion), Planned Parenthood, is nothing more than a progressively racist, eugenicist front? Here ya go...

"There's way too many black people in Ohio. I'm just trying to do my part."
"For whatever reason, we'll accept the money."

Ugggggh.

It's about time.

OH! This, from the New York Times...

“Work formerly done by reporters and producers is now routinely performed by political operatives and amateur ideologues of one stripe or another, whose goal is not to educate the public but to win. This is a trend not likely to change.”

So writes a very worried Mark Bowden (he of “Blackhawk Down”) in the latest issue of The Atlantic. And there’s more:

The Internet is now replacing Everyman with every man. Anyone with a keyboard or cell phone can report, analyze, and pull a chair up to the national debate. If freedom of the press belongs to those who own one, today that is everyone. The city with one eye (glass or no) has been replaced by the city with a million eyes. This is wonderful on many levels, and is why the tyrants of the world are struggling, with only partial success, to control the new medium. But while the Internet may be the ultimate democratic tool, it is also demolishing the business model that long sustained newspapers and TV’s network-news organizations.

This is interesting. The NYT Weekend Opinionator posts, using the headline “Acorn Falls, the Web Rises“, with the front page sub-title “A novice film maker embarrasses the Main Stream Media.”

So, I click over and read the piece, which is pretty good, not as apologetic for Acorn as you’d think, coming from the NYT. Back to the front page, the sub-title is changed to read “Did a novice filmmaker embarrass the mainstream media? “, taking away the definitive.

Vince Young steps up...off the field.

On Wednesday, Vince Young stepped up for Steve McNair's two sons, Trenton and Tyler McNair. Vince picked them up at their home, and took them to The Pancake Pantry in downtown Nashville, where their school, St. Paul Christian Academy, was having a "Dear Our Dads" breakfast. Dads were to take their kids there for a big breakfast and social meet-and-greet. Of course, Trenton and Tyler lost their father on July 4. They'd been wondering how this breakfast would turn out.

This is really a good thing Vince did, in anyone's mind; given that they have possession of a mind. This was a selfless act done expressly for a couple of kids who just lost their father in an unexpected and most horrific way.

Vince Young, comparatively speaking, is a class act; he's never gotten into any trouble with drugs, alcohol, or sex; his issues aren't based on overweening pride or self-indulgence. Sure, he's had some emotional and on-the-field setbacks. Fighting and dealing with those issues might make him a better man; if he gets them resolved, he might make a decent football player. If this event is any indication of his future direction, it's certainly looking brighter now, whether or not his future involves football.

BREAKING: ACORN Suspends Operations

ACORN suspends, plans audit, in wake of videos

ACORN, calling the actions of some of its employees “indefensible,” has suspended advising new clients as part of its service programs and is setting up an independent review to see what happened.

...

In her statement, Lewis said "no new intakes will be accepted into ACORN's offices for service programs, effective immediately."

She also said the group would begin "immediate in-service training for all frontline staff."

In addition, she said, "ACORN's independent Advisory Council will help
select an independent auditor/reviewer no later than September 18th to
review all of the systems and processes called into question by the
videos."

ACORN chief executive Bertha Lewis said in a written statement that she was “ordering a halt to any new intakes into ACORN’s service programs until completion of an independent review.”

Obama's speeches "CPR for the Republican Party". Joe Wilson might be censured, but he drew blood.

George Will, writing in Newsweak...
On the 233rd day of his presidency, Barack Obama grabbed the country's lapels for the 263rd time—that was, as of last Wednesday, the count of his speeches, press conferences, town halls, interviews, and other public remarks. His speech to Congress was the 122nd time he had publicly discussed health care. Just 14 hours would pass before the 123rd, on Thursday morning. His incessant talking cannot combat what it has caused: An increasing number of Americans do not believe that he believes what he says.

...

McConnell of the Mona Lisa smile says Congress will pass something because Obama will sign anything. McConnell notes, however, that never in his 25 Senate years have Republicans polled close to Democrats when the question is: Which party do you trust most to deal with health care? Until now. Last week's polling: Democratic Party, 41; Republican Party, 39—a statistical dead heat. On a generic ballot question—which party do you intend to vote for?—the GOP has gone from down 12 points to dead even since November. Independents defected in droves from the GOP in 2006 and 2008, but today only one third of them view Obama's handling of health care favorably. [emboldening mine -ed.]

Let Obama speak! The more often, the better!

You can fool some of the people some of the time and all of that, but if you run your lying chops all the time, there's a good chance everyone will figure you out. Only the farthest-left will remain steadfast and believe everything you say; the rest of the people will at last realize, finally, that you are not infallible, you might even be human, and that you are at times stretching, bending and snapping the truth.

Again, Thanks! Joe Wilson, for drawing sacred blood. You've done a great service for America.

Kanye West is a JACKASS! (President Obama says so)

You asked me to tell you if anything President Obama did or said that I agreed with, to let you know.

Well, here it is.

That's a take.

(Oh, and Kanye West still hates white people. Just so you know.)

From the twitterers...
"YO PATRICK SWAYZE I KNOW YOU JUST DIED & IMMA LET YOU REST IN PEACE, BUT MICHAEL JACKSON'S DEATH WAS THE BEST ONE THIS YEAR!" -Kanye West

Patrick Swayze dies...so long, Cooler.

My favorite Swayze flick, Road House. There's a lot of truth you can pick up from a cooler.

Dalton, to his new crew, after his presentation as Double Deuce's new 'best damn cooler in the business'...
All you have to do is follow three simple rules.
One...Never underestimate your opponent. Expect the unexpected.
Two...Take it outside. Never start anything inside the bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And
Three...Be Nice. If somebody gets in your face and calls you a cocksucker I want you to Be Nice.

Be calm, be cool, watch my back. Until it's time to take out the trash.
Well, he had it written for him, but the underlying sentiments were absolutely correct.

After all, it's never personal. So what if someone calls you a cocksucker? Those are two simple nouns combined to elicit a proscribed response, to jerk your chain. Don't let 'em own you with words. Your mind is a mirror; a mirror sees all, observes every motion, every movement, and you're reacting only to those movements that might break the glass. React with swiftness and control; break whatever you touch. Those simple rules will take you far, grasshopper.

Be Nice. Until it's time to not Be Nice.

RIP, Patrick Swayze. Dalton lives on, in my mind.

ACORN: Principles and Foundations of ACORN, an internal document given to employees

From Big Government, the long-sought expose of ACORN begins. This, an internal 'Employee's Handbook', is enlightening.

Principles and Foundations of Acorn -

Heh. "Organizers must make judgments about when to improvise".

James O’Keefe, the activist who videotaped ACORN 'Organizers' giving him on-the-spot 'improvisations' on methods of securing home loans for his pimping of underage prostitutes (imported from El Salvador, no less!) is a real-life Borat. He should send a finder’s fee to Sacha Baron Cohen.
“There are many job opportunities in the US and of A. For men, construction worker, taxi driver or accountant. For woman, prostitute.”
(Oh, sorry, that’s ACORN’s line… )

Of course, the Main Stream Media won't touch this. We have to go outside the US to find media coverage...

Group once linked to Barack Obama taped giving advice to 'brothel owners'

The US Census Bureau has broken links with the controversial community group Acorn, once a close ally of President Barack Obama, after it supported a purported brothel owner with a stable of underage prostitutes.

...

Mr Obama, however, vigorously defended Acorn, saying last year: "I come out of a grassroots organising background.

"I've been fighting alongside Acorn on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, Acorn was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work."
Appreciate their work. I guess so, their work got you elected.

Obama' sop to American Unions angers Chinese, threatens expanded trade war

...and the New York Times can barely believe it.
The Chinese government’s strong countermove followed a weekend of nationalistic vitriol against the United States on Chinese Web sites in response to the tire tariff. “The U.S. is shameless!” said one posting, while another called on the Chinese government to sell all of its huge holdings of Treasury bonds.
and
Mr. Obama’s decision to impose a tariff of up to 35 percent on Chinese tires is a signal that he plans to deliver on his promise to labor unions that he would more strictly enforce trade laws, especially against China, which has become the world’s factory while the United States has lost millions of manufacturing jobs. [emboldenings mine -ed.]
We've seen Barack Obama's timing fail before. In his rush to pass ObamaCare, he's ignoring the near-failure and precarious position of the U.S. economy. Instead of waiting for a recovery, he grabs more and more for his leftist supporters. Kids in a candy store, too far away from the coffers, they are making ill-timed grabs for cash for their own supporters. Payback for campaign gifts (money and votes, and bitten fingers) at the expense of thinking about any consequences.

This move to throw a bone to the Unions couldn't come at a worse time.
“Why did our government purchase so much U.S. government debt?” said one posting signed by a “Group of Angry Youths.” The item continued, “We should get rid of all such U.S. investments.”

China has accumulated $2 trillion in foreign reserves, mostly in Treasury bonds and other dollar-denominated assets, and held down the value of its currency, which has kept Chinese goods quite inexpensive in foreign markets. China’s exports have soared — China surpassed Germany in the first half of this year as the world’s largest exporter — while China’s imports have lagged, except for commodities like iron ore and oil that China lacks.

Worries that China might sell Treasury bonds — or even slow down its purchases of them — have been a concern for the Bush and Obama administrations as they have tried to figure out how to address China’s trade and currency policies.
But...the Unions! We have to give 'em what they want! How else are we to keep their support?

A trade war with China? Remember what happened in the late '20's? a trade war sparked the Great Depression.

Has someone not read his history? Or is this just right out of the playbook?

Witch Doctor Obama: RACIST! African George Bush, Condoleezza Rice: NOT Racist!

As usual, the Left cries RACISM!, when such crying serves their purpose. When similar situations occur against Conservatives, such attacks doesn't serve their purpose to protest, or when one of their own team pulls a racist! stunt, they collectively will ignore it. The Left spent much time hating on Condoleezza Rice; Michael Steele suffered a photoshop attack by Steve Gilliard; we saw vicious attacks on Clarence Thomas, Colin Powell, Thomas Sowell, most of those involving race.

Personally, I disfavor both images. I probably would've carried one like this.

(Oh, h/t for the two images I combined to make an animated .gif, to SondraK (she has these cool rollovers that Blogger can't do). The other image comes from Baldilocks.

Racism is the only reason we protest

Joe Wilson for TRUTH CZAR!

Seen on a sign at today's 9/12 protest at Washington.

As seen in this video, where we find CNN's Lisa Desjardins shouted down by shouting attendees...

Is Joe Wilson in trouble in Washington? Let's hope not. If Democrats want an apology, and he's not willing to give one, let the Democrats push a resolution to censure him. Joe Wilson will certainly have ample support.

NO MORE LIES!

Evil Lies, Evil Eyes

Our objections to the Democrats’ health care proposals are not mere “bickering” or “games.” They are not an attempt to “score short term political points.” And it’s hard to listen to the President lecture us not to use “scare tactics” when in the next breath he says that “more will die” if his proposals do not pass.

Obama's TAINT: ACORN 'Community Organizers' organizes Ungerage Prostitution

Obama's supporters, exemplified by ACORN, are now his taint. From the newly launched and exciting BIG GOVERNMENT website...

Krauthammer: ACORN Has Tainted Obama

TRANSCRIPT–Guest-host Guy Benson discussed ACORN with Charles Krauthammer on Friday’s “Hugh Hewitt Show”:
Guy Benson: Charles, I want to quickly shift, as we have just a little over a minute left here, to the home front, and a domestic story that is breaking within the last few minutes, which is the Census Bureau citing the brewing and growing scandal at ACORN, they have cut ties with ACORN entirely when it comes to the 2010 Census. Your reaction?

Charles Krauthammer:
ACORN has all of the appearance of a criminal racket. This is graphic appearance, incredibly strong evidence, but it’s at the end of a long list of evidence going back years and years. I’m glad that the Census is cutting its ties. What I’m worried about is that the Stimulus package had millions of dollars, and there are loopholes in there which would allow it to end up in the hands of ACORN, and that’s what people ought to be looking at right now.

GB: Yes.

CK: That’s where our investigative journalism ought to be headed. Are they now going to be getting our tax money in large doses to continue their, what appear to be racketeering operations?

GB: Yeah, and billions, potentially, of dollars.

CK: Exactly. Huge, I mean.

GB: And again, you also cannot separate ACORN from the President of the United States. He was one of them.

Yes, President Obama is to ACORN as Jimmy Hoffa was to the Teamsters Union; as John "Jackie the Nose" D'amico was the leader of the Gambino crime family. ACORN is Obama's Community Organizing taken to heaven; giving him millions of votes from people who didn't know much about the issues but certainly knew the lure of Other People's Money...

Let's hope that someone, somewhere in government, decides to investigate ACORN and it's ties to the Obama Administration. At lease enough investigation to deny them more of our bailout dollars. Expose them for the criminal organization that they really are. Remember the Left's attacks on Halliburton? Well, here you go; at least Halliburton didn't mine the thoughtless for votes for Democrats, promising who knows what sort of payback for their correct votes.
Oh, on the subject of BIG GOVERNMENT. Andrew Breitbart launched this website, to accompany his BIG HOLLYWOOD venture( already a successful startup); BIG GOVERNMENT promises to be an important resource as it develops.

Oh, and today is the 9/12 march on Washington. How did we, conservatives, get from a voiceless minority to a loud (dare I say near-leftist in volume) group of protesters? Dana Loesch tracks the progress...

Something curious happened during the summer of 2008. Democrats, led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi,
shut down the House and C-SPAN cameras with a resolution that passed by just one vote, smack in the middle of an energy crisis. Afterwards, Madame Speaker jetted off on a week-long book tour while gas prices soared.

The Republicans stood in the dark and refused to leave. A few officials, including John Culberson, took out their phones and began Twittering the action to America, this spawning the #dontgo movement. It was the first nudge to the hibernating conservative constituency who were excited about having something over which to be excited in their party. Netroots activists seethed at the realization that Democrats left America in limbo rather than vote against reducing energy costs and drilling stateside – though the majority of the population approved of such. They rallied around the legislators that had the brass to stay and urged them to “Don’t go!”

Democrats shut down Republicans a second time promptly after the election by moving to bar them from amending legislation in the House.

Taxpayer fury over these offenses grew to a shriek in February when Rick Santelli delivered his famous diatribe on the floor of the Chicago exchange. The feelings of angry disenfranchisement felt by so many conservatives coalesced following Santelli’s speech. The first wave of tea parties came from this, the first national effort occurring on February 27th, 2008.
...

The tea party movement has challenged the GOP to get back on track or risk losing its grip on the right wing. It’s reminded Democrats that a slick marketing campaign coupled with paid activism isn’t the same as a groundswell of real change and the reason that Democrats are so hostile towards it is because they’ve never before encountered it.

This movement celebrates its last big hurrah of 2009 before marching headlong into a midterm year. The tea party is far from over and for the sake of checks and balances, I hope it never ends.

The GOP, the Republicans, sort of latched on to the grassroots. But don't forget, Conservatism is not always the GOP. We Conservatives have much work to do to oust the weaklings and elect stronger, more vibrant representatives to challenge the far-left ACORNOBAMA faction of the Democrat Party.

Friday Photos: 9/11 Steel

I took these photos at Winslow, Arizona, at the World Trade Center Remembrance Memorial Garden. There's a big push to get more WTC steel sent to communities around the nation, to help our current Americans remember the heroes who fell, the firefighters and policemen, and also those who've since fallen in the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.
''The best way we can honor the memory of those we lost on 9/11 is to find homes in the W.T.C. Memorial and in cities and towns around the nation for the hundreds of artifacts we've carefully preserved over the years,'' said the Port Authority's executive director, Christopher O. Ward. The Port Authority hopes to generate more interest in the steel with new advertisements in police, fire and municipal trade magazines. There are 1,800 to 2,000 pieces, half of them very large, which are available for carting away, at the recipient's expense. This does not include about 200 pieces, among them the most familiar and iconic, that have been claimed by the National Sept. 11 Memorial and Museum.
These words on the Winslow Plaque...
REMEMBRANCE GARDEN
These two steel beams from the World Trade Center
entrusted to the citizens of Winslow
By the City of New York,
along with this flag that was flown at the Pentagon;
stand as the centerpiece of our Remembrance Garden.
The words 'United We Stand" remind the world
that we will not fear terrorism.
We hereby dedicate this Garden to Northern Arizona's
Promise that
"WE WILL NEVER FORGET"

How often do we remember that world-changing day way back in 2001? How often do we feel the same sense of 'togetherness' we all seemed to have, for at least a few months?

How often can you recall Barack Hussein Obama saying "America is a GREAT NATION, Americans are a GREAT PEOPLE"? He doesn't seem to be proud of America, BHO; every time he sets foot outside the country he's apologizing to somebody for something.

Well, whether Barack Hussein Obama agrees or not, America IS a GREAT NATION, and her people ARE a GREAT PEOPLE. Otherwise we wouldn't have been blessed with such a successful run.

When we worked together, there wasn't a problem that we couldn't solve.

Is that over? Is America now on the skids, falling, soon to be overwhelmed in the Globalism that's promulgated by our current leadership? Are we to be forever splintered, and doomed to lose this Republic, falling into some kind of Global Collectivism event horizon?

How much longer do we have to fly our flag? Proudly? As a Great Nation?

Will we ever have a President again say that America is a Great Nation, that her people are among the finest in the world?

I don't think the current president and his entourage has it in'em.

Obama used the "Lie" word first, during his speech. He should have been more civil.

There's much talk about Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst during Barack Obama's HealthCare speech last night. Sure, it was a bit out-of-line (but not the first time a President was heckled during a speech before a joint session of Congress, or the first time a President has been termed a 'liar' in that great hall) but sometimes one has to call it as he sees it.

From Powerline...
Some of people's concerns have grown out of bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform at any cost. The best example is the claim, made not just by radio and cable talk show hosts, but prominent politicians, that we plan to set up panels of bureaucrats with the power to kill off senior citizens. Such a charge would be laughable if it weren't so cynical and irresponsible. It is a lie, plain and simple.
No, it isn't. The Democrats' bill doesn't call the agencies it sets up "death panels," it says they will decide on "best practices." But any socialized medicine scheme saves money by rationing care. Who gets shorted, the politically powerful? No, of course not; the elderly and those who are otherwise helpless. In the United Kingdom, the death panel goes by the Orwellian acronym "NICE."
(emboldenings mine)

Joe Wilson might be reproached, but nonetheless he's scored an important victory: instead of talking about Obama's mastery of HealthCare, people are now talking about Joe Wilson.

Oh, and Obama did lie.

Wouldn't it be a hoot, when all is said and done, if this outburst is the final nail in ObamaCare's coffin?

Sorry, but that moment was the highlight of Obama's speech for me. Seeing SanFranNan glaring in Joe Wilson's general direction with her evil eye on brought a smile to my stone face. )

Joe Wilson calls President Obama a Liar during the Obama HealthCare Speech

That's nothing. I was calling him a liar throughout the speech. Joe Wilson just had the wherewithal to speak TRUTH to POWER! Finally, a Republican with some stones.

Joe Wilson, new Republican Hero. You go, Joe!

UPDATE WITH VIDEO!

Oh, and Obama is a liar.

Camille Paglia slaps Democrats (she must use a mirror, because she is a Democrat)

This is worth reading. Snippy...

Why has the Democratic Party become so arrogantly detached from ordinary Americans? Though they claim to speak for the poor and dispossessed, Democrats have increasingly become the party of an upper-middle-class professional elite, top-heavy with journalists, academics and lawyers (one reason for the hypocritical absence of tort reform in the healthcare bills). Weirdly, given their worship of highly individualistic, secularized self-actualization, such professionals are as a whole amazingly credulous these days about big-government solutions to every social problem. They see no danger in expanding government authority and intrusive, wasteful bureaucracy. This is, I submit, a stunning turn away from the anti-authority and anti-establishment principles of authentic 1960s leftism.

How has "liberty" become the inspirational code word of conservatives rather than liberals?
Finally, some thinking Democrats lumber towards the light.

And the light isn't shining from Teh O!ne.

Obama's HealthCare Speech (another one, and already!) : Here Comes Mr. Reverb

This one stolen directly from Darleen Click. Because I'm busy (there's a yellow towel needs readying for tomorrow night's game!).

But there's this point from another strong woman...Catherine Bragg, who owns a bakery.

Angry and unstable, obviously one of The Mob.
"It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker, that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest. We address ourselves, not to their humanity but to their self-love, and never talk to them of our own necessities but of their advantages. Nobody but a beggar chooses to depend chiefly upon the benevolence of his fellow-citizens. Even a beggar does not depend upon it entirely. The charity of well-disposed people, indeed, supplies him with the whole fund of his subsistence."

Sarah Palin is Not Blinking: She's Back with a WSJ OpEd skewering ObamaCare; and YES, she mentions DEATH PANELS!

Here we go, another round in the battle: Sarah Palin vs. Barack Hussein Obama, right on the eave of his prime-time speech to Congress (how many of those, now?) to browbeat shell-shocked Senators and Representatives and revitalize his lagging socialist Health Care Plan...

Obama and the Bureaucratization of Health Care

The president's proposals would give unelected officials life-and-death rationing powers.

Sweet.

Remember the last time Sarah mentioned 'death panels' the Left erupted in a frenzy of frothing hate; there's no fear in Sarah's eyes. She isn't the one who is shell-shocked...to see that, look in the eyes of the blue-dog Democrats (you listening , Bart Gordon?).

This excerpt... (emboldenings mine)
How can we ensure that those who need medical care receive it while also reducing health-care costs? The answers offered by Democrats in Washington all rest on one principle: that increased government involvement can solve the problem. I fundamentally disagree.
Sarah then goes on to poo-pooh 'big government' fixes of anything, then cites the non-partisan CBO figures that disagree with the numbers the Obama Administration trotted out.

Then to the crux of the biscuit...

Now look at one way Mr. Obama wants to eliminate inefficiency and waste: He's asked Congress to create an Independent Medicare Advisory Council—an unelected, largely unaccountable group of experts charged with containing Medicare costs. In an interview with the New York Times in April, the president suggested that such a group, working outside of "normal political channels," should guide decisions regarding that "huge driver of cost . . . the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives . . . ."

Given such statements, is it any wonder that many of the sick and elderly are concerned that the Democrats' proposals will ultimately lead to rationing of their health care by—dare I say it—death panels? Establishment voices dismissed that phrase, but it rang true for many Americans. Working through "normal political channels," they made themselves heard, and as a result Congress will likely reject a wrong-headed proposal to authorize end-of-life counseling in this cost-cutting context. But the fact remains that the Democrats' proposals would still empower unelected bureaucrats to make decisions affecting life or death health-care matters. Such government overreaching is what we've come to expect from this administration.

Ka-POW! Right in the kisser. Take that, Joker~!

Not to be caught without some 'alternative' proposals, Sarah Palin brings out some of the same Republican proposals that haven't gained any attraction with Obama's one-option party, including my favorite, Tort Reform, and others including letting Insurance companies operate across state lines, just like the banks do...can you remember the times when banks were wholly owned inside and controlled by the various states? Ronald Reagan signed the Interstate Banking Act in the early '80's and allowed cross-state-line bank ownership for the first time in American history. Thus we have Bank of America, U.S. Bank, and a myriad of 'out-of-state' banks. But I do miss Third National Bank... )

Sarah Palin's timing is perfect. Another chip thrown in the gears of Obama's machine-operated political disaster. Just when we needed it.

Thank you, Sarah Palin!

Little Jeffy, after Obama's School Speech.

SHAMES for the MEDIA: Van Jones escaped scrutiny. Why? Because he WASN'T a Republican, and everyone who did investigate him is RACIST!!!111!!

Where was the 'watchdog' media during the lead-up to the Van Jones resignation? Andrew Breitbart takes the MSM talking heads to task...

Now that White House "Green Jobs Czar" Van Jones has resigned, what's next?

Inevitably, the American mainstream media - ABC, NBC, CBS, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time, Newsweek, et al - must be held to account for sitting on the sidelines as this major story kept building without them, went viral on YouTube, and then became so large that a key appointee of President Obama was forced to step down.

But with their decision to ignore the Jones story, they may have actually done Mr. Obama far more harm than good: Who vetted this guy? How did he get past the FBI? What did he say, and how did he answer the infamous seven-page questionnaire that all Obama appointees were required to fill out? Inquiring Freedom of Information Act minds want to know.

For most people in this country, the resignation was the first they had heard of Van Jones. For this sin of journalistic omission, there's institutional media blame. Bias is too tame a word for the utter shamelessness on display: Only Republican scandals - real and imagined - matter.

...

Just as Mr. Obama was not even cursorily investigated, Van Jones, a fellow "community organizer," was not given the slightest media attention when named as an unaccountable "czar" selected to oversee billions in taxpayer money for the ambiguous purpose of "green energy." And that despite having a body of damning evidence that could be found with a single Google search by an ADHD-addled high-school journalism student. [emboldenings mine]

Andrew Breitbart shames Katie Couric, Brian Williams, and every other "Big Media" talking pompous head who ignored this story. The credit for Van Jones' abrupt departure goes to FOX News' Glenn Beck, Gateway Pundit (Jim Hoft), and my favorite BCaster, the lovely Liz Stephens (oh, and that guy she VLOGS with, what's his name... )

Obviously we must vet the media.

Oh, this quote from an article on Politico deserves some attention, framing the crying, crying from the Left...
"If Jones left under pressure from the Obama administration then we are in for a very long and painful four years,” said Melissa Harris Lacewell, a political science professor at Princeton University.

Ya think? What, did you forget the last 8 years, wherein President Bush was castigated almost daily for his 'crimes' (which seem, in retrospect, and compared to BHO's endeavors, quite harmless)?

Never to forgive, never to forget.

Yes, Melissa, it's going to be a very, very long and painful 1231 Days, 03 Hours, 25 Minutes, and 13 Seconds. And counting, down.

Olbermann Calls Out the KOS Nutroots: GET GLENN BECK!

They can't stand the fact that Van Jones has fallen. They can't understand that he fell because he's a commie hater who didn't deserve to have access to the White House as a janitor, much less as a Presidential Adviser with power.

I won't link the bastiches. See Ace's post for the linky.
