| Meet me in Chattanooga for TRON: LEGACY ! |
One of my favorite toy trolls, 'elfie' (AKA 'edgeling' on DeviantART, and Joel at the Water - Sewer - plug it NOW! Department), invites me to join him at the opening of Disney's TRON: Legacy at Nashville's Regal Opry Mills 20 IMAX. Well, several seconds of searching reveals that the Opry Mills IMAX attraction is still closed due to May's flooding; and according to some, may never reopen...
Flood waters from the 2010 Tennessee floods in early May reportedly reached as high as 10 feet inside the mall, and forced the closure of the facility temporarily. The entire property was remediated.I've visited Bass Pro several times since their reopening, but the rest of the mall is boarded off and one cannot access the property.
As of September 2010, restoration work has been halted while litigation over insurance claims plays out in court, and many of the mall's retailers have sought locations elsewhere in the area, either permanently or until the mall is restored and reopened. The initial reopening date was set for August 2011, but that is now in doubt due to the litigation.
There is speculation that Simon Malls may not reopen the mall at all, due to Simon Malls' choice to stop renovations to the mall during litigation. Simon Malls denies that it has plans to close the mall permanently. The Bass Pro Shops store reopened October 14, 2010 separate from the rest of the mall.
A shame I can't watch TRON: LEGACY in the company of 'elfie' here in Nashville. I might go to Chattanooga to catch it (but not on opening day!). The original TRON was pretty decent as I recall, for a 1982 Disney film, but probably nothing as compared to today's visual fare. I expect this latest release to be spectacular, even if it is a Disney release.
As for elfie, can't blame him for wanting to get out of his 'house'...

What????
ReplyDeleteDamn, it is? I knew i shouldn't take my friend's word when it comes to things like this. Especially since he moved away and lives in Jackson now. That...blows. Crap. Okay, change of plans, i'll be at the Wynnsong 16 in the 'Boro.
Funny pic, but it doesn't look a thing like me.
Heh. All's I had was your avatar from DeviantArt to work with.
ReplyDeleteSend me an updated pic, I'll fix you right up~!
...also, "Leagacy?"
ReplyDeleteSpelling. Learn how to do.
Thanks for the tip. I'm always in a hurry, forgetting to proofread &c.
ReplyDeleteIs that all you have to say that's clean? Because that's all I see, and all that's ever gonna be seen. Potty mouf isn't getting through, here or anywhere else of note. As you've noticed.
Now CLEAN UP THAT PIGSTY OF A ROOM! Even in my dorm days, nothing I had ever resembled that. Duct-taped chairs, blue tarps on the windows...hell, even my primitive camp sites look better than that! Sheesh.
"Send me an updated pic, I'll fix you right up~!"
ReplyDeleteOkay, i sent you a pic. Feel free to go ahead and fix the image. I'd also recommend using Jeff Bridge's body when he's dressed as Clu instead of this fat guy. It would be more accurate. Not that i look like Jeff Bridges, but young Barry Boxleitner would definitely be too muscular.
Nah, I won't change this. It was done to make a point, and because I was bored. This will stand.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to be a party to put anyone's 'real' image on the web, either, if that's what it is. I haven't checked my other email. You probably sent a pic of Julian Assange or something.
