Memorial Day

h/t Charlotte Observer

Israel's blockade of Gaza stands. 15 Hamas-supporting activists with guns were justifiably killed.

Israel's naval forces stood up to the 'pity-party' of whining activists who attempted to break the legal blockade of Gaza (where there are Hamas terrorists who use rocket fire to attack Israel). Some activists opened up with live fire on Israeli boarders, and were justifiably shot.
According to the IDF, the international activists “prepared a lynch” for the soldiers who boarded the ships at about 2 a.m. Monday morning after calling on them to stop, or follow them to the Ashdod Port several hours earlier.
There is much international whining and crying. The New York Times is beside herself. Israel's heard all of that before, but being tough and resilient, won't back down.

Butt-hurt and whining from Al Jazeera in this video...

From the NYT, more of the same...
JERUSALEM — The Israeli Navy raided a flotilla carrying thousands of tons of supplies for Gaza in international waters on Monday morning, killing at least 10 people, according to the Israeli military and activists traveling with the flotilla. Some Israeli media reports put the death toll higher.

The incident drew widespread international condemnation, with Israeli envoys summoned to explain their country’s actions in several European countries. The criticism offered a propaganda coup to Israel’s foes, particularly the Hamas group that holds sway in Gaza, and damaged its ties to Turkey, one of its most important Muslim partners and the unofficial sponsor of the Gaza-bound convoy.

The killings also coincided with preparations for a planned visit to Washington on Tuesday by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Great. We'll see our Wussie in Chief make long faces and pass a few slurs. But they'll be Presidential Slurs, mind you! Not your average mean-spirited schoolyard slurs, but actual Hahvaahhd high-class slurs. Which Israel will shrug off. She's been slurred by better than Obama.

The Israeli Defense Forces said more than 10 people were killed when naval personnel boarding the six ships in the aid convoy met with “live fire and light weaponry including knives and clubs.” The naval forces then “employed riot dispersal means, including live fire,” the military said in a statement.
Kick ass and take names. Damn, but Israeli forces are good!

Then the lying starts, from the "pro-Palestinian Free Gaza Movement" (a hate group) Greta Berlin:
“That is a lie,” said Greta Berlin, a leader of the pro-Palestinian Free Gaza Movement, speaking by telephone from Cyprus. She said it was inconceivable that the civilian passengers on board would have been “waiting up to fire on the Israeli military, with all its might.”

“We never thought there would be any violence,” she said.
Oh, really now, Greta? Remember, these "Palestinians" you support think nothing of strapping on bombs, on themselves, on their women, on their children, and blowing themselves up given an Israeli target. What makes you think they will restrain themselves when a few soldiers are boarding their vessels? You, ma'am, are yourself a lying bitch.

Here's the truth.
At least four Israeli soldiers were injured in the operation, some from gunfire, according to the military.

A military statement said two activists were later found with pistols they had taken from Israeli commandos. The activists, the military said, had apparently opened fire “as evident by the empty pistol magazines.”
Of course these Palis opened fire. They can't restrain themselves. Even the most 'peaceful' amongst them will attack an Israeli on sight. They can't help themselves; their Prophet and his manuscript of hate gives them all the leeway they need to commit atrocities. They should be blockaded, until they reform their sorry religion.
At a press conference on Monday in Jerusalem, Israeli deputy foreign minister, Danny Ayalon said the flotilla’s intent was “not to transfer humanitarian things to Gaza” but to break the Israeli blockade.

“This blockade is legal,” he said, “and aimed at preventing the infiltration of terror and terrorists into Gaza.”
I stand with Israel. Do what you have to do.

NRSC Video: Obama loses the media. "Obama's Katrina" is locked in and delivered. Hey, bash Bush some more, you bastards!

This powerful video, only available on the internet, hammers home the point that Obama chose to attack President Bush on the campaign trail, and used Katrina against him. Now, the tables are turned. "The worst oil spill in U.S. history. And a president who doesn't seem to care. http://www.nrsc.org"

After the Democrats spent years criticizing President Bush re: the Katrina - New Orleans disaster (and that sucker of donkey c*ck Frank Rich is still running his evil jaws, Bush-bashing, in today's New York Times), what did they expect in return? It's a classic "what goes around, comes around". A shame that such a terrible ongoing tragedy turns into a political spectacle, but damn it, Obama did swear "Never Again", whilst hammering Bush in 2008's presidential campaign.

A fitting come-around. Well played, NRSC.

Now someone please plug that damned hole.

'Greasy Pole' Part 2: Introducing the BP Oil RAGE GIRL!

This is really doing much good, people.

Got a match?

So go home, turn in your TV sets, cell phones, cars, electric hair dryers, everything else you use that relies on 21st century technology. Then come out and protest. You might not look like such a fool.

Naval Academy plebes: No 'Greasy Pole' for you.

Americans becoming weak, sensitive 'wussies' (h/t sdferr)...

America’s most famous greasy pole is no more. When the plebes at the U.S. Naval Academy gathered on May 24 to mark the end of their grueling first year in Annapolis, they clambered up the 21-foot Herndon Monument almost without breaking a sweat, in two minutes and five seconds.

The annual ritual commonly took hours in the past, because upperclassmen slathered the monument with lard and hosed down the ground at its base as well as the plebes. But the wussification of America proceeds apace, and the service academies are not spared. This year the order came down: no lard, no hoses. According to an academy spokesman, Vice Admiral Jeffrey Fowler, the -superintendent “made the decision this year that it would be safer for the midshipmen to climb the monument without grease.”
Related...Baracky, enraged because the hole isn't plugged already, is heckled again by strange people (DADT revisionists)(far-left wussies) for not moving fast enough.

Poor guy, out of his depth.

ObamaCare is the new "N" Word ?

I direct your attention to this excellent post by Doctor Zero, who has some fascinating insight into the Democrat's "whitewashing" of the non-pejorative term "ObamaCare"...
Why are liberals suddenly objecting to the name “ObamaCare,” forcefully enough to compel Jake Tapper to apologize for using the term?  As Allahpundit noted, it’s supposed to be the crowning achievement of the Obama presidency – and, indeed, the modern Democrat Party.  He should be proud to have it named after him.

The most obvious explanation is that liberals realize the ObamaCare program is deeply unpopular, a situation likely to get worse as more of the program kicks in, splattering more Easter Eggs of unforeseen consequence across the face of an increasingly angry electorate.  As the President’s approval ratings plummet, his dwindling band of supporters are understandably nervous about hanging a widely reviled law around his neck… especially since it’s still damp from being shoved down America’s throat.

The sloppy craftsmanship and outrageous over-reach of ObamaCare make it a “magic eye” portrait of an incompetent president and party.  As you stare at the countless little fraudulent cost estimates, unplanned side effects, and economy-killing mandates, a 3-D image of an upraised middle finger materializes.  This is a deadly narrative for a Democrat Party that claims its handful of legislators and bureaucrats can run our massive economy better than millions of private citizens.  Americans are understandably angry at a Democrat Congress which rammed through a trillion-dollar health-care takeover, but can’t produce a coherent annual budget.

...

Deliberately or subconsciously, the Left is already looking forward to the post-Obama era, and beginning the process of gently airbrushing certain aspects of his tenure from public memory. [embolding mine -ed.]
The bloom is off the rose; Barack Obama is, day by day, exposed as more poseur than savior. Instead of pumping our free gas, we see billowing clouds of oil pumping into the gulf, and Barack Obama unable to command it plugged. We see inartful bribery attempts spilling into the mainstream media. We see a simple sort of fellow, well past his depth, a mere above-average-rhetorician-politician that Democrats must, at some point, distance themselves from, to save their Party.

Looking ahead to the post-Obama Democrat Party, I imagine a sort of insider bloodletting where all the formerly well-kept secrets are exposed; e.g., where Bill Ayers is given proper (dis)credit for his role in launching this slick but flawed politician. I don't expect Bill Ayers will be getting royalties for Dreams anytime soon, but to have his authorship credited would do wonders for discrediting BHO in the academic world.

Democrats today, the farthest left that once-proud Party has ever drifted, can't stay so far from America's center and see the Republic survive. They will have to abandon this direction eventually. Doc Zero sees that in this new distancing from 'ObamaCare'; I agree. Because anything other than this distancing would be tantamount to doom for the United States of America.

BP admits screwup. (WHO KNEW ?)

Live Feed of the leak at the riser on the ocean floor (live until BP shuts it down ).

FOX News (among others) has reported on a House memo (a Waxman committee) stating the BP likely had ample warning that methane gas was building up in their well, and might cause a blowout. They decided to use seawater instead of mud to plug the pipe (before disconnecting the rig and moving on); that proving to be a fatal mistake. Remember, there were BP executives on the rig, 'managing' «cough»dancing a celebratory jig«cough» the final setup; likely they had advance notice that BP had won, or was a finalist for, the Interior Department's MMS 'Safety' award. Perhaps someone had no desire to pull the plug on the party by announcing a possible screwup, decided to ignore data, and allowed complacency to doom the operation. Meanwhile, the screwup announced itself on April 20; two days later, the rig was sunk by the Coast Guard, possibly causing the break in the pipe at the ocean floor.

Again, this is preliminary speculation. Fingers will point for decades on this one (remember the Exxon Valdez? Finally the skipper was blamed, for being a drunk).
Oil giant BP PLC told congressional investigators that a decision to continue work on an oil well in the Gulf of Mexico after a test warned that something was wrong may have been a "fundamental mistake," according to a memo released by two lawmakers Tuesday.

The document describes a wide array of mistakes in the fateful final hours aboard the Deepwater Horizon—but the main revelation is that BP now says there was a clear warning sign of a "very large abnormality" in the well, but work proceeded anyway.

The rig exploded about two hours later.

The congressional memo outlines what the lawmakers say was a briefing for congressional staff by BP officials early Tuesday. Company representatives provided a preliminary report on their internal investigation of the April 20 disaster, which killed 11 workers and continues to spill thousands of barrels of oil daily into the Gulf of Mexico.

The new developments come as President Barack Obama, working to tame a political storm over the spill, is expected to announce Thursday that the government will impose tougher safety requirements and more rigorous inspections on off-shore drilling operations.

More than 200,000 gallons of oil a day are spewing from the blown-out well at the site of the Deepwater Horizon, which exploded April 20 and sank two days later. Meanwhile, concern grows about animals and plants on the ecologically fragile coastline, where oil began washing ashore April 29.

According to the memo, BP identified several other mistakes aboard the rig, including possible contamination of the cement meant to seal off the well from volatile natural gas and the apparent failure to monitor the well closely for signs that gas was leaking in, the congressmen wrote in their post-meeting memo. An immense column of natural gas, erupting from the oil well, fueled the fireball that destroyed the rig.

A BP spokesman declined to comment on the memo's specific statements. He said the company had identified "what we believe to be a series of underlying failures" that caused the accident.

Although the memo identifies some of the problems that led to these mistakes, it doesn't identify who made the key decisions. Most of the work aboard the rig was performed by employees of Transocean Ltd., the rig's owner and operator, and other contractors, but BP had managers
aboard the rig to supervise the work at the time of the accident.
Meanwhile, Barack Obama wakes up to a new day. Got valium ?

Obama screeches "Plug the damn hole!".

So, using four simple words, Barack Obama has solved a problem that's perplexed and eluded thousands of engineers for over a month. I'm beginning to think that maybe, just maybe, this guy is right for the job of leader of the Free World.

I mean, with insights and suggestions like that, who needs calm, measured, experienced leadership ?

Sure, Barack Hussein Obama's been on edge lately, flustered, snapping at his aides. What with this gulf disaster clearly roosting squarely on his noggin, with the Joe Sestak - White House bribery allegations starting to get mainstream airplay, with North Korea trying it's damndest to restart the Korean War, with Ahmadinnerjacket playing games with nuclear fuel rods, who can blame Obama for being a bit testy?

Oh, and Obama did go to the Republican Senator's lunch meeting today and caught quite an ear full from Bob Corker. Kansas Senator Pat Roberts gets out the word that Baracky should probably ask someone to prescribe some nice blue, white or yellow Valiums for his increasingly obvious thin-skinned whiny temper attacks.

I'm proud of Tennessee Senator Bob Corker, who finally found his mettle...
"I told him [Mr. Obama] I thought there was a degree of audacity in him even showing up today after what had happened with financial regulation," Corker told reporters after Republicans met with Obama.

"Let's face it: Republicans came to lunch, in my opinion, today as a prop for the president. He talked a great deal about bipartisanship, and yet the three major initiatives he's put forth have all been very partisan ... the lengths to which they went to absolutely ensure we did not have a bipartisan bill. And I asked him how he was able to reconcile that duplicity today coming in to see us."

When asked to clarify whether he used the word "duplicitous" when addressing the president, Corker confirmed that he had.
Maybe O!'s under so much pressure he's ready to snap? Of course, being a long-time CEO of a major American company has outfitted him very well for his current position. He's been through a lifetime of struggle and trial-by-fire; handling with ease all of this going on in the world today. It's like a walk in the park; he's handling problems with such ease and delicacy that his leadership seems second nature, as well it should be to someone with his lifetime of dedication and experience in the private sector and in insightful, skilled leadership ... ... right? right?

Leadership. sigh...
Pass that pill bottle, Obama. You're giving me a headache.

Europeans have our future in their hands: one false move can set off a global economic crash reaction

From the tone and the sheer skittishness of this article, it would seem that we, denizens of the United States, are marching along a cliff's edge wearing a blindfold and juggling bowling balls. Not a lot of optimism right now; and the scary part is that our possible fate is in the hands of the never-exceptional Europeans. Don't you wish that now, we could still claim "American Exceptionalism" and be above what's coming as a freight train towards the rest of the world?       From the WaPo...
If the trouble starts -- and it remains an "if" -- the trigger may well be obscure to the concerns of most Americans: a missed budget projection by the Spanish government, the failure of Greece to hit a deficit-reduction target, a drop in Ireland's economic output.

But the knife-edge psychology currently governing global markets has put the future of the U.S. economic recovery in the hands of politicians in an assortment of European capitals. If one or more fail to make the expected progress on cutting budgets, restructuring economies or boosting growth, it could drain confidence in a broad and unsettling way. Credit markets worldwide could lock up and throw the global economy back into recession.
Just where we didn't want to be, at the tender mercies of the frogs in France and the toads in Greece and Spain.

I posted Sunday on the NYT's jaw-dropped realization that the Liberal Model (unfettered socialism and benefits given to 'enlightened' citizens by nanny-state governments who only want to stay in power; as we are seeing touted in the United States with the election and ascension of our favorite plastic president) is unsustainable, and will result in collective Europe's forced scale back of these unsustainable benefits. Then, the civil disorder and unrest, protests, and street ignominy. Greece, sure, they've seen it starting, and it's flickering in France, who isn't really all that far away from more street anger. Remember the riots there a year ago, with French youths burning cars in the streets of Paris when they couldn't find jobs (or force 'integration', which means to the Muslim youths with the lighters, integration of the French to their desired standards).

So, if some hedge fund broker with too much cash on his hands decides to throw a money wrench into the markets somewhere, we might lose our 401-K's ? A disheartening thought.

But there's an immediate thin silver lining for the U.S., however bleak the overall long-range outlook...
For one, uncertainty about European government debt has driven global investors toward U.S. government bonds, which in turn is pushing down long-term interest rates. The 10-year Treasury bond had a rate of 3.2 percent Friday compared with nearly 4 percent last month. Those lower rates should flow through to private borrowing, helping Americans getting mortgages or businesses looking to grow.

The European panic is also lowering the price of oil and other commodities on global markets, potentially making it cheaper for Americans to fuel their cars and heat their homes. A barrel of oil went for about $70 on Friday, down from almost $87 on April 6.
"Heat their homes". He must be referring to Utah's bit of snowfall yesterday morning.

There you go, Utes. You can afford to stay warm a little while longer.

Sometimes the Bull Wins. But, Good News! The matador, he will live!

NOTE: Graphic Content, below the fold.

Obama's Oil-Soaked Waterloo

Once, the USA once was able to send crews to the moon. I’ll bet in that day and age we could’ve stopped this catastrophic leak, plugged this gushing underwater oil well, and done it quickly and efficiently. Now, of course there’s no more moon travel, and we have no clue as to the how of stopping this disastrous leak.

Today, we have an inept Sissy in Charge, one who is unable to get anything done. Bush couldn’t stop a hurricane, that’s understandable. Obama can’t stop an underwater oil well catastrophe he’s watched bloom for a month now. Obama has had over a month to get something planned and moving; instead, he ‘community organizes’ and plots for more creeping socialisms. He’s never gotten his hands dirty, ever, what did we expect? So far all Obama has done is send in a Swat team and make thuggish comments while BP does what it can, very little, whilst the oil washes ashore. Where are the Federal skims, the barrier islands that should be dredged in place?

Obama should be getting busy doing something besides preening with the Mexican President in a tent on the White House lawn, a tent that was adorned with pretty butterflies on the ceiling. Has the man no sense of catastrophe?

This tragedy is Obama’s Waterloo.
At least 6 million gallons of crude have spewed into the Gulf, though some scientists have said they believe the spill already surpasses the 11 million-gallon 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill off Alaska as the worst in U.S. history.

A mile-long tube operating for about a week has siphoned off more than half a million gallons in the past week, but it began sucking up oil at a slower rate over the weekend. Even at its best, the effort did not capture all the oil leaking.

The spill's impact now stretches across 150 miles, from Dauphin Island, Ala. to Grand Isle, La.
DO SOMETHING, OBAMA! STOP THE DAMNED LEAK!

Massachusetts Rep. Michael J. Moran, Proud Liberal, takes it up the tailpipe.

Seems an illegal alien rammed Mass Rep. Michael J. Moran pretty good, vehicularly, then in the aftermath of his arrest he laughed, laughed, laughed at law enforcement, because he's an illegal alien and therefore thinks he's immune to United States laws and prosecutions.

Moran, a Liberal moron, was one of the Massachusetts Representatives who supported their Governor Patrick Duvall's recent decision to not allow MA law enforcement to turn these arrested illegals over to the Feds for deportation (not that it would likely do much good; without border security, that the Federal Government (Obama) is supposed to provide, the illegal alien would likely saunter right back over to commit more crimes). And likely Rep. Moran criticized Arizona's new law (that he probably hasn't read), so this incident finds me LAUGHING MY ASS OFF.

So, Rep. Moran is learning the hard way exactly what he should have realized before this abrupt lesson in reality: that illegal aliens don't so much respect our hometown laws, our state laws, or our federal laws. They laugh at us and our laws. And why shouldn't they? We present to them abject, liberal-mandated weaknesses. Why shouldn't they laugh at us?

Let's hope Rep. Moran is physically fine after this 'accident'. But whiplash, it's painful, sure, but...

He'll live.

More than you can say about the hundreds, thousands (who knows? data about the numbers of illegal aliens killing and maiming Americans is not tracked; not even numbers of law enforcement personnel killed by illegal aliens is tracked) of American citizens killed by illegal aliens.

He'll live.

Payback time: Liberals in Europe realize they can't sustain "Liberal Model"

TANSTAAFL, you arrogant European Socialists.

The New York Times sadly reports...

Europeans Fear Crisis Threatens Liberal Benefits

PARIS — Across Western Europe, the “lifestyle superpower,” the assumptions and gains of a lifetime are suddenly in doubt. The deficit crisis that threatens the euro has also undermined the sustainability of the European standard of social welfare, built by left-leaning governments since the end of World War II.

Europeans have boasted about their social model, with its generous vacations and early retirements, its national health care systems and extensive welfare benefits, contrasting it with the comparative harshness of American capitalism.

Europeans have benefited from low military spending, protected by NATO and the American nuclear umbrella. They have also translated higher taxes into a cradle-to-grave safety net. “The Europe that protects” is a slogan of the European Union.

...

Changes have now become urgent. Europe’s population is aging quickly as birthrates decline. Unemployment has risen as traditional industries have shifted to Asia. And the region lacks competitiveness in world markets.

“The easy days are over for countries like Greece, Portugal and Spain, but for us, too,” said Laurent Cohen-Tanugi, a French lawyer who did a study of Europe in the global economy for the French government. “A lot of Europeans would not like the issue cast in these terms, but that is the storm we’re facing. We can no longer afford the old social model, and there is a real need for structural reform.”
Did I see in that blurb the word CHANGE ? Yes, I did. CHANGE, such as Barack Hussein Obama is desiring in the 'austere' Capitalist system that 'harsh' America is known for? Aren't  we undergoing forced CHANGE to a Eurosocialist model that we now see is admittedly unsustainable?

Pardon me for pointing and laughing.

Seems the USA's Social Democrats are promising, and their mooching voters are demanding, a system that Europe must now flush away.

Who knew?

Well, Milton Friedman knew.

Barack Obama's Home House Seat Falls to a Republican

This is of some interest to me, because I want to reiterate my anti-birtherism stance.

Barack Obama was born in Hawaii; that's a fact that I've researched and have concluded is correct. The time's that's wasted by individuals who believe otherwise is approaching lunacy. Don't they realize that BHO is playing with them, like a cat with a herd of mice? Do they not realize what is the concept of 'programmed distraction'?

While I'm on this let's-get-this-straight-once-and-for-all kick, I want to point out that I did not trust Rand Paul, even before he was elected in the Republican primary in Kentucky, because I don't like batshit crazy Ron Paul. Sorry, but I haven't liked Ron Paul since, well, even before his campaign for the '08 Republican president nomination kicked off. I attacked him with much energy throughout that campaign season (just check my archives, under keyword 'Ron Paul', if you don't believe me) and mocked his supporters as 'Paulbots'. Nothing has changed, I still can't stand Ron Paul. Is his son too much like the father? So it might seem.

I've the same thoughts and disregard for that crazy loon Alex Jones. I can't stand Alex Jones. Like Ron Paul, he's just another batshit crazy loon who is nothing more than an Agent Provocateur who is spoiling the Tea Party. As for Rand Paul, he's just not polished enough,  and it seems he might've spent too much time listening to dear old dad at Sunday dinners.

We should distance ourselves from the Paul brand; unlike the Democrats, who embrace their far-left batshit crazy loons «cough»Kucinich Obama Pelosi Reid«cough», we should push back against 'em while we can. Show 'em the door, thankyouverymuch.

All that said, we have another good win against the far-left Democrat Machine...

Charles Djou Wins Hawaii Special Election

Honolulu City Councilman Charles Djou (R) won the special election in Hawaii's 1st district tonight. He took 39.5 percent of the vote to 31 percent for state Sen. Colleen Hanabusa and 28 percent for former Rep. Ed Case (D).
Obama carried the district 70% to 28% in 2008. Conventional wisdom holds that Djou will lose this seat in the fall when there won't be two Democratic candidates splitting the Democratic vote. But I wouldn't be so sure that Djou can't boost his share of the vote from 39.5% in a three-way race to 50.1% in a head-to-head match up. It's not clear that Hawaii Dems will easily unify behind one candidate (the primary is September 18). And Djou will have six months as an incumbent to get to know voters better. He's certainly an appealing candidate (see here).
So, for now, we have that seat.

We, as The Opposition Party, must show that our way is better; we have to provide a distinct example of what should be obvious: we don't seek to control every aspect of people's lives, as the far-left desires. TSI nails it...
However, it should be obvious to anyone who’s been paying attention that the larger objective of the Left has not been reform, but control – behavior control, mind control, finance control, health control, life control. If you’re Left, that means you’re smarter and better than everyone else, by definition. And if you’re smarter and better than everyone else, where else do you belong, but in the driver’s seat?

Control, and destruction. If your stint in university has led you to the conclusion that the bulk of our civilizational heritage is a crime and should be smashed, then a-smashing you will go, in one form or another. And think yourself a hero for doing it. Our old pal Richard Fernandez–Wretchard, of the Belmont Club blog–once said that “The greatest apostasy in Marxist literature has always been to find value in the present.” To which an unnamed Winds of Change blogger added: “Once our world was characterized by poverty and the leftist future held prosperity for all; but once capitalism has demonstrated the ability to provide, prosperity is itself reviled as an abomination. Now the Left prescribes a noble poverty as an ideal all will be made to aspire to (by any means necessary).” Achievement hating, soul-denying, life-stunting Leftism has nothing to offer ordinary people but ever sterner scourgings for sins sometimes real, most times imagined.
Let's keep our noses clean, push back against the batshit crazy loons like the Pauls and the Joneses, and try to right this nation. Before it's too late to matter.

Caption this Photoshop ?

This photoshop for Cowboy Blob's Photoshop/Caption Contest, here.

OK, so here's my pshop. Fine. Interesting composition, but I've no clue what it means. Except for that, as usual, Obama's reaching out for something that doesn't belong to him. Nothing new, nothing surprising. Just a typical standard-fare dirty socialist looter.

So, help me out here. Give me a caption for my photoshop for Cowboy Blob's photoshop - caption contest.

Just don't mention Wee Willie, midgets, or racist hilljack skin flute players. We've been there, done that.

California Rep. McClintock (R-CA04) speaks out against Felipe Calderón. Don't you wish we had a President who could speak out against a mendacious douchebag like Calderón as well as Rep. McClintock did ?

McClintockCA04 — May 20, 2010 — Response to President Calderón
House Chamber, Washington, D.C.
May 20, 2010

Mr. Speaker:

I rise to take strong exception to the speech of the President of Mexico while in this chamber today.

The Mexican government has made it very clear for many years that it holds American sovereignty in contempt and President Calderón's behavior as a guest of the Congress confirms and underscores this attitude.

It is highly inappropriate for the President of Mexico to lecture Americans on American immigration policy, just as it would be for Americans to lecture Mexico on its laws.

It is obvious that President Calderón does not understand the nature of America or the purpose of our immigration law.

Unlike Mexico's immigration law -- which is brutally exclusionary -- the purpose of Americas law is not to keep people out. It is to assure that as people come to the United States, they do so with the intention of becoming Americans and of raising their children as Americans.

Unlike Mexico, our nation embraces immigration and what makes that possible is assimilation.

A century ago President Teddy Roosevelt put it this way. He said:

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language ... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

That is how we have built one great nation from the people of all the nations of the world.

The largest group of immigrants now comes from Mexico. A recent RAND discovered that during most of the 20th Century, while our immigration laws were actually enforced, assimilation worked and made possible the swift attainment of the American dream for millions of immigrants seeking to escape conditions in Mexico.

That is the broader meaning of our nations motto, e pluribus unum from many people, one people, the American people.

But there is now an element in our political structure that seeks to undermine that concept of E Pluribus Unum. It seeks to hyphenate Americans, to develop linguistic divisions, to assign rights and preferences based on race and ethnicity, and to elevate devotion to foreign ideologies and traditions, while at the same time denigrating American culture, American values and American founding principles.

In order to do so, they know that they have to stop the process of assimilation. In order to do that, they must undermine our immigration laws.

It is an outrage that a foreign head of state would appear in this chamber and actively seek to do so. And it is a disgrace that he would be cheered on from the left wing of the White House and by many Democrats in this Congress.

Arizona has not adopted a new immigration law. All it has done is to enforce existing law that President Obama refuses to enforce. It is hardly a radical policy to suggest that if an officer on a routine traffic stop encounters a driver with no drivers license, no passport, and who doesn't speak English, that maybe that individual might be here illegally.

And to those who say we must reform our immigration laws I reply that we don't need to reform them we need to enforce them. Just as every other government does. Just as Mexico does.

Above all, this is a debate of, by and for the American people. If President Calderon wishes to participate in that debate, I invite him to obey our immigration laws, apply for citizenship, do what 600,000 LEGAL immigrants to our nation are doing right now, learn our history and our customs, and become an American. And then he will have every right to participate in that debate.

Until then, I would politely invite him to have the courtesy while a guest of this Congress to abide by the fundamental rules of diplomacy between civilized nations not to meddle in each others domestic debates.
That shameful dog we have as President can't hold a candle to this Representative from California.

California, mind you! I'll obviously have to re-think my recent ill thoughts about California.

The 4th District of California borders Nevada and the southeastern portion of Oregon, and is located far from the liberal hell-holds of San Francisco, Los Angeles and the rest of the Left Coast (but not so far from Sacramento). California 04 would be better off and happier not being a part of California, most likely. If Rep. McClintock is truly representative of the good people of District 4, then they would be welcome in Texas, or Tennessee. Or any other freedom-loving state.

Just goes to show there's real Americans left, and that we shouldn't lose heart listening to the moron Democrats and other dirty socialists.

Screw 'em, really.

Limbaughism and "The Limbaugh Victory"

The New York Times has an editorial up today that's impressive for it's clarity and honesty; and for once, even if they are trying to underhandedly bash Rush Limbaugh, they only succeed in getting things right.

Asks Zev Chafets, who has a book in the works "Rush Limbaugh, An Army of One", 'How and why are conservative Republicans doing so well right now?' Aside from the wake-up call of doom that the election of an unbelievably far-left President announced, that fateful election awakened many good people who would like to see this great nation continue to succeed; for that to happen, the policies of Barack Obama must be thwarted at every opportunity. The party of NO, indeed. And yes, Obama's policy initiatives must fail for this nation to survive.

Zef Chafets at the NYT...
The Limbaugh Victory
...

But the most obvious explanation is the one that’s been conspicuously absent from the gusher of analysis. Republican success in 2010 can be boiled down to two words: Rush Limbaugh.

Mr. Limbaugh has played an important role in elections going back to 1994, when he commanded the air war in the Republican Congressional victory. This time, however, he is more than simply the mouthpiece of the party. He is the brains and the spirit behind its resurgence.

How did this happen? The Obama victory in 2008 left Republicans dazed, demoralized and leaderless. Less than six weeks after the inauguration, in a nationally televised keynote address to the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, Mr. Limbaugh stepped into the void with a raucous denunciation of the new president’s agenda and a strategic plan based on his belief that real conservatism wins every time. He reiterated his famous call for Mr. Obama to fail and urged the party faithful to ignore the siren song of bipartisanship and moderation and stay true to the principles of Ronald Reagan.

Democrats responded by branding Mr. Limbaugh — whom they considered self-evidently unattractive — as the leader of the opposition. The day after the conservative conference, Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff, went on “Face the Nation” and described Mr. Limbaugh as the “voice and the intellectual force and energy” of the G.O.P.

...

[Limbaugh's] strategy was simple. With Democrats controlling Congress, Mr. Limbaugh saw that there was no way to stop the president’s agenda. He dismissed the moderates’ notion that compromising with the president would make Republicans look good to independents. Instead he decreed that the Republicans must become the party of no, and force Democratic candidates — especially centrists — to go into 2010 with sole responsibility for the Obama program and the state of the economy. And that is what has happened.

Mr. Limbaugh was not just the architect of this plan, he was (and continues to be) its enforcer. Dissenters like Arlen Specter, whom Mr. Limbaugh disparaged as a “Republican in Name Only,” found themselves unelectable in the party primaries. Moderates like Michael Steele, the party chairman, were slapped down for suggesting cooperation with the administration. When Representative Phil Gingrey of Georgia had the temerity to suggest that Mr. Limbaugh was too uncompromising, he was met with public outrage and forced into an humiliating apology.

When the Tea Party movement emerged, Mr. Limbaugh welcomed it. The movement’s causes — fighting against health care reform, reducing the size and cost of government, opposing the Democrats’ putative desire to remake America in the image of European social democracies — were straight Limbaughism. A very high proportion of the Tea Partiers listen to Mr. Limbaugh. Sarah Palin’s biggest current applause line — Republicans are not just the party of no, but the party of hell no — came courtesy of Mr. Limbaugh.

...

Rush Limbaugh came along after the age of Ronald Reagan. He has never really had a Republican presidential candidate to his ideological satisfaction. But if the party sweeps this November under the banner of Real Conservatism, Mr. Obama will find himself facing two years of “no” in Washington and, very likely, a Limbaugh-approved opponent in 2012.
If that happens, if we succeed in pushing back against this far-Left assault on American (and it must succeed for this nation as we knew it to survive) then Rush should get a Congressional Medal of Freedom. Because Rush Limbaugh, alone at times, has stood up against the far-Left Social Democrats, and given hope and direction to the people of this nation who deserve better than what some of the weak-spined Republicans in leadership roles (those who would 'just get along' while the country burns) have provided.

Arizona's Gary Pierce, to insufferable Los Angeles leftists: Boycott this, biatches~!

So, you whiny, broke but still crazy California asses want to boycott Arizona for supposedly 'racist' laws that aren't? Then be willing to put your electrons where your moufs are; and give up 25% of your electricity that's supplied by Arizona...

Ariz. official dares L.A. to stage boycott

City would give up quarter of its electricity

The spat over Arizona's new immigration law expanded Tuesday as a state official dared Los Angeles to follow through on its new boycott by agreeing to give up the 25 percent of electricity the city gets from Arizona sources.

In a letter to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Arizona Corporation Commissioner Gary Pierce said a boycott war is bad for both sides, and said he would "be happy to encourage Arizona utilities to renegotiate your power agreements" to end the electricity flowing to Los Angeles.

"I am confident that Arizona's utilities would be happy to take those electrons off your hands," Mr. Pierce said. "If, however, you find that the City Council lacks the strength of its convictions to turn off the lights in Los Angeles and boycott Arizona power, please reconsider the wisdom of attempting to harm Arizona's economy."
I'll wager the social Democrats who control (and have broken the banks in) Los Angeles won't have the cojones to take Mr. Pierce up on his offer.

Screw Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and any other pea-brained government agency or locale or individual (including our President and his non-law-reading 'tards) that are desirous of diverting business from Arizona. Let's hope Arizona politicians follow through on this bold procedure.

Pull the plug on Los Angeles!

Viral Video: "Rise Up" from "The Tea Party Movie". Good timing, on a day that sees Arlen Specter dissolved like the Wicked Witch of the West.

Video and movie by Jeremy Hoop (where you can download the song for free, and read the lyrics).

This one is going viral, so you might as well watch it here.

Oh, and let me congratulate that lefty Democrat fellow Sestak for kicking Arlen Specter to the curb. Five terms and done. Good riddance, Speculum old buddy. Sestak, you're up for November. Get ready.

And I'm hearing of a "Randslide" in Kentucky. The Tea Party candidate did whip the Establishment Republican; that's some good news.

Shiver, bitches. Shiver.

"Scott Thomas" Blumenthal, fabulist, liar, Democrat (but I digress)

This Democrat, this possible future United States Senator from Connecticut, has created as fabulous a creation as did Scott Thomas Beauchamp. Except, of course, Beauchamp actually was in Iraq. Richard Blumenthal was never in Vietnam. But he said he was.

Attorney General Richard Blumenthal at a news conference Tuesday at a Veterans of Foreign Wars post in West Hartford, Conn.

From the New York Times (who will bury this story as soon as possible; notice how far away from November it actually broke ? )...

Blumenthal Calls Military Claim ‘Misplaced Words’

Attorney General Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, a Democrat running for the United States Senate, said he took “full responsibility” for saying he had served in Vietnam when he actually received deferments between 1965 and 1970, worked in the Nixon White House and then joined the Marine Corps Reserve.
...
Mr. Blumenthal said he had been unaware of “those misplaced words” when he said them. He said that the errors were "totally unintentional" errors and that he had made them on only a small number of occasions in hundreds of public appearances.
Ummm, no. Richard Blumenthal gradually embellished a story of Vietnam involvement over the years until it became a grand lie from which he can't hide. He did serve in the Marine Reserves, but never set foot in Vietnam.

He had more deferments than did Dick Cheney, five of 'em.

I'll bet most vets who did serve in combat zones won't appreciate Mr. Blumenthal's 'misplaced words', and likely most will have a few choice words for him of their own. Check out some of the real-time twitter search results for "Blumenthal" to gauge some of the reaction this fabulist is garnering. And check out Milblogger Uncle Jimbo at Blackfive...
OK buddy you are busted and it's time to take your ass back home and stay out of our sight. I know quite a few Vietnam vets starting with my old man and his two full tours who might not take kindly to you riding their coat tails. The nice thing is he is running to replace another loser Chris Dodd and this damn sure better be enough to throw that seat to the other team. Uh.... buh bye.
The comments there are worth reading.

But this isn't the end of Mr. Blumenthal. He's a proud Democrat, and he'll stick around, without shame, and various moochers will vote for him no matter what he's said or done. Just look around at what's in various offices proudly wearing that (D).

Reverend Wright (that once wonderful teacher of BLT to BHO) cries out from under BHO's bus

Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Arkansas: Primary Bellweathers

Any other year these races would be approaching meaninglessness. No so 2010.

In Pennsylvania, we find turncoat RINO (that's a self-fulfilling descriptor) Arlen Specter trying to extend his already too long Senate career. This bumbling fool of a man is so slavishly beholden to the aura of Senate power that he's become pathetic: not only did he switch parties; now he can't even remember and speak correctly that he is now a Democrat. Even easily fooled Democrats look at this pitiable creature and only want to shy away from him as one would a skunk. BHO hasn't come around, although that's prolly helped Specter some!

His primary opponent, an equally offensive Democrat, Joe Sestak.

Actually, from my viewpoint, I'd like to see Specter win this primary challenge, so we can slap him around a bit more. Give him more rope; you know what he'll do. The winner faces Pat Toomey (R), who is gleefully watching this slugfest and sharpening his knives. My call: Specter.

Also in PA, and more importantly, the good people in PA-12 need to select a successor to John Murtha. Hate it that he died before all the verdicts came in on the Haditha Marines (and before the Marine's slander lawsuits against Murtha played out). Murtha's career should have ended because of his proven incorrect attacks on fellow Marines. RIP John Murtha, decorated Marine; but "your seat" needs to go to a better politician. And a better person.

In Arkansas, we have Moderate Democrat Senator Blanche Lincoln fighting for her not-so-illustrious career against primary challenger AK Lt. Governor Bill Halter, who has support of the far-left Liberals, Union thugs and others who want someone to help drive their radical agendas. Let's hope Halter does win this, as he's a clear-cut crazy who should provide a nice bullseye for a decent Conservative to challenge.

Lastly, in Kentucky, we see a Republican primary race for Jim Bunning's Senatorial office that he's vacating (a shame, I like Bunning). Rand Paul, so-called Tea Party candidate, vs. Trey Grayson, establishment Republican.

Sorry, but I do not like Ron Paul; I don't know much about his son Rand, but let's hope Rand has a mind of his own. To have a mind at all is a step up from dad, and let's hope that if Rand wins this, he separates himself adequately from dear old daddy. We don't want another Ron Paul, anywhere in politics, especially Republican politics. Another drawback to Rand Paul AFAIC: anytime we see someone run for an office on the coattails of their fathers - brothers - sisters - &c., it's troubling to me. I just don't care for family trees rooted too deeply in our political system, and that's something I'll apply to the Kennedys, Bushes, McGoverns, any of these big-name 'me too because I have the NAMESAKE and obviously the RIGHTS!' mentality. Let 'em eat cake or something.

OK, I'll call for Rand, but not for Paul. If that makes sense.

America: Let it Burn ?

Depressing.
But despite some short-term success, this small-government revival is doomed to fail. The depressing truth is that the only way to regain the full measure of those freedoms proclaimed in our Founding Documents is for our current federal government to completely collapse under the weight of its own excesses.
I've posted my thoughts on the far-left 'Social' Democrats and their vote-attracting tactics many times. I've nailed the scenario: the moochers (being weak and lazy voters, only shades of the former Real Americans who built this nation) become enslaved to the looters (the elected Representatives who only want to grab and hold power no matter what 'oaths' they've sworn), who are providing costly Government Cheese in return for votes, votes that are keeping the (Social Democrat, and yes, non-Conservative Republican) looters in power. That cycle is right now at the point where we aren't capable of supplying all the moocher voter's demands for more and more; what we've promised is not sustainable; the debt this nation is carrying will soon be greater than our capacity to service. We are just one or two more economic 'quakes' away from a real apocalyptic catastrophic meltdown: the failure and collapse of our Republic.

Can our Republic stand? What happens when the thin veneer of civilization is gone, missing, after the electricity and the supplies of food and water are exhausted?

Darleen Click posted this video Saturday, depicting a fictional breakdown in an American city that's been quarantined by federal troops who are of course armed and ready to kill...citizens.

Hopefully we will never see any of this. Here. In our Republic.

No Rules for Radicals : Video

How'd I miss this video?

Good stuff. Watch this with serious intent. This is component stuff from which movements are sparked.

Inspired by Saul Alinsky's book, "Rules for Radicals" and how it has become the 'liberal primer' for the now flaming socialist Democrat Party.

A wheelchair, or a coffin. After a collision with, say, an (outlawed?) GM Yukon, just compress the results and toss it all in the ground.

Al Gore was nowhere to be found.

PA Special Election: AGAIN! It's time to retake "John Murtha's seat", just as Scott Brown (R, Kennedy) retook Drunken Ted's seat.

I just received a plaintive e-mail from (also drunken, dropped like a fly from his bid for re-election, didn't he?) Rep. Patrick Kennedy (Slush, Rhode Island) ...
Serr --
Stop Sarah's Tea Party
Republicans are getting cockier and cockier about their chances to win in November, yet refuse to end their allegiance to Big Oil, Wall Street, and the Insurance Industry.

In just 4 days, voters will go to the polls in another special election, this time for Congressman Jack Murtha's seat in Pennsylvania. This is a tough district and the poll numbers are tight, especially after the Republicans and shadowy outside groups have spent over a million dollars on attacks.

Republicans are pulling out all the stops, from Sarah Palin endorsements to a visit yesterday from Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown and other radical tea party favorites.

If they win on Tuesday, Republicans will try to claim that their victory is symbolic of their momentum and what will happen in November.
Yes, the fool did actually write "Jack Murtha's Seat". Not once, but twice...
Jack Murtha was a champion for hard working Americans, for our military, and for our veterans. He always stood on the side of justice, social progress, and economic opportunity for ALL Americans. This is a very tough district for Democrats and the polls are as tight as they come.

But we cannot quit now!

This seat, Jack Murtha's legacy, and the principles for which we stand as Democrats are too important to sit idly by. I need your urgent help to prevent Jack Murtha's seat from falling into Republican hands and to ensure that Mark Critz carries on that legacy of standing up for all of us, not the Oil Companies, Insurance Companies, and Wall Street Tycoons.
You'd think the bastiches would know better by now.

But these new power-hungry Social Democrats who are far-left in nature don't know any better. They are, they think, the 'ruling class' for America; they do present themselves as the best choice we dumb ruffian Americans have (so they say!) to lead us to...what, exactly?

To the end of this Republic, because WE ARE NOT SOCIALISTS, we are not going to become forced socialists; we are not all susceptible to leadership by these elitist statists who refuse to listen to all the people, and realize that WE THE PEOPLE are who matters most.

Other than paying lip service to those weak-spine liberals who now are crying the loudest for special favors and special treatments, these Social Democrats have no care for the majority of Americans; and for 'Tea Party' people, only disdain, as evident in this e-mail, and many, many other spewed vile evidences of hatreds.

To their flocks of smarmy liberals, Social Democrats will grant the 'favors' of promised enhanced social programs (that's now evident to almost all who will take the time to notice, impossible to pay for) so as to secure the votes of their own special interest groups. The same special interest groups the Leftist Democrats have largely created by division and separation and have nurtured, now from Kindergarten to grad school. "Ethnic Studies" should be the name for the Democrat's methodology of divisively cherry picking and separating people whom they want for to only milk for their votes.

Bah. To hell with these leftist bastards.

If you are in Pennsylvania, in that infamous 12 Congressional District where there exists "John Murtha's Seat", please vote for Tim Burns. So we can send a clear message of doom to these insufferable far-leftist Social Democrats.

Oh, also so I can then write "Tim Burns (R) Murtha".

Make my day, that would.

Arizona bans Ethnic Studies in Primary and Secondary Schools...

...because Ethnic Studies are NOT HISTORY, and shouldn't be taught in primary and secondary schools to begin with. History is and should be a staple of primary learning; Advanced Victimology Creation and Exploitation should not.

Ethnic studies are a co-opted version of standard history courses, in which various racial themes, prejudices, chauvinisms and divisive hatreds are injected into wide-eyed students in order to create new members of existing well-trained victims groups, who are then exploited by Democrats to secure their votes. In higher-level (!) universities, Ethnics Studies professors are considered to be creatures one step above Wal-Mart greeters (who actually serve good purpose). If these menial underachieving professional life-long grad-students-now-professors didn't have their "Fill-in-the-blank future-Victim Studies" program for to fund their existences, Wal-Mart or McDonald's would be the next best place for them to seek sustenance (or maybe guitar and (skinf)lute player instructions given at MTSU, eh, Yelverton? ).

Again, as with the previous Arizona bill now widely misunderstood and used by Democrats to recruit voters, it's best to start by reading the damned law, to see what is the true intent of the legislators...

I. In schools employing a superintendent or a principal, the authority to suspend a pupil from school is vested in the superintendent, principal or other school officials granted this power by the governing board of the school district.
J. In schools that do not have a superintendent or principal, a teacher may suspend a pupil from school.
K. In all cases of suspension, it shall be for good cause and shall be reported within five days to the governing board by the superintendent or the person imposing the suspension.
L. Rules pertaining to the discipline, suspension and expulsion of pupils shall not be based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin or ancestry. L. M. The principal of each school shall ensure that a copy of all rules pertaining to discipline, suspension and expulsion of pupils is distributed to the parents of each pupil at the time the pupil is enrolled in school.
M. N. The principal of each school shall ensure that all rules pertaining to the discipline, suspension and expulsion of pupils are communicated to students at the beginning of each school year, and to transfer students at the time of their enrollment in the school. END_STATUTE
Sec. 3. Effective date
This act is effective from and after December 31, 2010.

Seems very clear to me. You can't teach hate to our kids in primary and secondary classrooms, nor should you try. But leftists will scream to high heaven (or their equivalent) because this might just shut down their recruitment efforts (as a certain SCOTUS candidate did, whilst Dean of HahVahrd? ).

Save those useless studies for the university level, where there are many, many lifelong idiots who will fall for these sorts of useless distractions.
