Did Federal Judge Susan Bolton and Eric Holder make basic Constitutional legal mistakes in the Arizona ruling ?

Did Federal Judge Susan Bolton have legal standing to rule in the Arizona "Undocumented Democrats Immigrants: Just Enforce the Damned Existing Federal Laws, Obama!" case?

Possibly not...
In a stunning development that could potentially send the nation into a Constitutional crisis, an astute attorney who is well-versed in Constitutional law states that the ruling against the state of Arizona by Judge Susan Bolton concerning its new immigration law is illegal.

The attorney in question submitted her assertion in a special article in the Canada Free Press. Her argument states in part,

"Does anyone read the U.S. Constitution these days? American lawyers don’t read it. Federal Judge Susan R. Bolton apparently has never read it. Same goes for our illustrious Attorney General Eric Holder. But this lawyer has read it and she is going to show you something in Our Constitution which is as plain as the nose on your face.

"Article III, Sec. 2, clause 2 says:

"In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction. In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction."

In other words, the Judge in the Arizona case has absolutely no Constitutional jurisdiction over the matter upon which she ruled. As the Constitution makes abundantly clear, only the U.S. Supreme Court can issue rulings that involve a state.

This means that neither Judge Bolton nor the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco, to which the case is being appealed, have any legal standing whatsoever to rule on the issue.

Thus, U.S. Attorney-General Eric Holder filed the federal government's lawsuit against the state of Arizona in a court that has no authority to hear the case.
But the Constitution is simply an anachronistic block to Progressives and far-left Social Democrats who would redefine the damned outdated thing to make America more 'fair' and less 'egalitarian'. We must overcome and remake the clauses of the Constitution we don't like, Obama and similar like-minded soft socialists say, to move us forward to a new order, where people are all well-kept and tended by Statists Who Care.

Who needs pesky borders, anyway? Just open 'em up and redistribute land and wealth at will. You uncaring Americans, you!

Barack Obama, on THE VIEW: Previously unseen SCREENSHOT!

I suppose this outtake still hit the cutting room floor.

Along with the rest of the crew, of course.

What does 15,000 cubic meters per second of dirty water look like, you ask?

Well, maybe you didn't ask. But I find this photo fascinating. And it is my blog, after all.

In this photo provided by China's Xinhua News Agency, flood water gushes from the Xiaolangdi Reservoir in Jiyuan, central China's Henan Province, Tuesday, July 27, 2010. The Xiaolangdi Reservoir on the Yellow River launched a sluice with the water outflux monitored at 15,000 cubic meters per second on Tuesday, Xinhua reported. (AP Photo/Xinhua, Miao Qiunao)
The Xiaolangdi Reservoir holds back the Yellow River, China's second largest. Floods across China are sweeping people to their deaths...
At least 21 people are missing after a landslide in southern China caused by relentless rain buried dozens of apartments in Shauanghe.

Rescuers have been searching for the missing people as more than 4,000 were evacuated from their homes on Tuesday.

Flooding in the area has already caused the deaths of at least 823 people this year, keeping the flooding disaster in the Google trends and a big topic on the web for months.
It's always good to pull back and view our own problems with a little different perspective I think.

Defining CULT: Muslims restrict women. And name their kids "Muhammed". Americans can name their kids anything they like, including politically charged girl names like "RUSSIA".

Looks like a cult, acts like a cult. Guess what ?
Far-Left Liberals name their kids cultlishly. Guess what ?

Freedom of religion means freedom to restrict women, if you are Muslim. Freedom of speech means one can degrade their children for life, if you are the Sherrods.

I don't see much difference between the two examples I've given above. Both represent the result of iron-fisted controlling cults, with little room for argument. All the 'victims' seem to be enjoying themselves (can't you see the fluttering eyelashes and the flashing eyes?); what's the problem ?

Just a casual observation. Might not mean a thing.

Muslims and American Leftists, both seeking to control the world, one human at a time (and creeping, creeping, one nation at a time), opposed by those of us who value freedom and individual expression. And would never restrict women, or name our kids after Communist nations.

Here, try this on for size:

DEMOCRATS are to our Constitution as HAMAS is to Muslim women.

Nice fit, that.

So, I wonder, how should Andrew Breitbart answer Eric Boehlert and his other lefty critics ?

Charles Sherrod: "We must stop the white man and his Uncle Toms from stealing our elections."

Exclusive at Dan Riehl's blog, an expose of Shirley Sherrod's RACIST husband.

Saint Shirley is married to an Anti-White Racist. Who knew ?

Liberal JournoList 'journalists' conspired to bring down Sarah Palin after her wildly successful nomination speech in 2008.

...and the funny thing about it? Voters fell for it. JournoListers promulgated two lies: that Sarah Palin was unqualified, and that Barack Hussein Obama was qualified.

The Daily Caller...
Sarah Palin’s speech to the 2008 Republican convention impressed more than a few doubters, including even some members of Journolist, an online community for liberal journalists.

“This speech is gangbusters,” wrote Ari Melber of the Nation. “Her tone is pitch perfect.” Adele Stan of the Media Consortium agreed: “Palin is golden.”

The exuberance appeared to unnerve the Guardian’s Michael Tomasky. “People get a hold of yourselves!” Tomasky wrote to his fellow Journolisters. “It’s a very good speech with good lines. But there’s very little substance.” [emboldenings and linkys mine. So I know how to find these assholes. -ed.]
Oh, but Barack Hussein Obama, with help from 'independent' media sources, fooled the entire nation with his one-meaningless-word: CHANGE. We see not what he meant, and it's not a good thing. CHANGE is anti-Constitution, and doesn't create JOBS.
Rebecca Traister of Salon wrote to say she was grateful for Tomasky’s message discipline. (“This is a reassuring sentiment, since at the moment, I feel like we’re in End Times.”) But the rest of the country apparently didn’t agree. Polls a few days later showed Obama’s lead in the race had narrowed to virtually nothing.

Palin’s speech had been remarkably effective. This troubled members of Journolist. On Sept. 8, 2008, five days after Palin’s national debut, some members of the group discussed producing coordinated propaganda designed to wound Palin and boost Obama.
That 'coordinated propaganda' resulted in bad moose jokes, Tina Fey, and Andrew Sullivan chasing around after Sarah Palin's vayjayjay for the next two years.
At an appearance in Colorado immediately following the convention, Palin had remarked that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had “gotten too big and too expensive for the taxpayers,” a point that seems commonplace now, but that at the time struck some as controversial.

Ryan Avent, then blogging for the Economist, now an editor there, complained that Obama’s supporters were missing a chance to attack. “If we were the GOP, we’d be taking this opportunity to shout long and loud how unprepared Palin is—‘She doesn’t even know what Fannie and Freddie are…in the middle of a housing crisis!’….That’s the difference in the game as played by us and by them.”

Michael Tomasky responded: “So why aren’t Dems doing that? Just wundrin’.”

Luke Mitchell, then a senior editor at Harper’s magazine, asked Tomasky if his paper would be able to help: “Michael – Isn’t this something that can be fanned a bit by, say, the Guardian?”
Some back and forth between the journolisters, summed up by Ed Kilgore...
Ed Kilgore of the Progressive Policy Institute, another supposedly “independent analyst,” did the same, even outlining specific, campaign-approved talking points: “It requires no particular strategic genius or ‘message coordination’ to recognize that we and the Obama campaign have the next two months to demonstrate that McCain and Palin represent the status quo party, the status quo ideology, and status quo policies,” he wrote.
The results we already know. The Main Stream Media followed almost to the letter this routine...
Todd Gitlin of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism had already made up his mind. Gitlin, whose job is to train the next generation of America’s most elite journalists, wrote this impassioned plea on behalf of the Obama campaign:

“On the question of liberals coordinating, what the hell’s wrong with some critical mass of liberal bloggers & journalists saying the following among themselves:

“McCain lies about his maverick status. Routinely, cavalierly, cynically. Palin lies about her maverick status. Ditto, ditto, ditto. McCain has a wretched temperament. McCain is a warmonger. Palin belongs to a crackpot church and feels warmly about a crackpot party that trashes America.

“Repeat after me:

“McCain lies about his maverick status. Routinely, cavalierly, cynically. Palin lies about her maverick status. Ditto, ditto, ditto. McCain has a wretched temperament. McCain is a warmonger. Palin belongs to a crackpot church and feels warmly about a crackpot party that trashes America.

“These people are cynical. These people are taking you for a ride. These people are fakes. These people love Bush.

“Again. And again. Vary the details. There are plenty. Somebody on the ‘list posted a strong list of McCain lies earlier today. Hammer it. Philosophize, as Nietzsche said, with a hammer.

“I don’t know about any of you, but I’m not waiting for any coordination. Get on with it!”
Todd Gitlin, you dirty bastard, you should be run out of Columbia University on a rail whilst covered with still-steaming tar and feathers.

There you go, American voters. You've been manipulated from the start by these limp-wristed 'progressives' who've fooled you into thinking they are merely reporters. Instead, we see them as they are: mentors to Leftist ideology; pushing 'their' candidate to a win.

A shame that, now, we all have to suffer from BHO's incompetence, because of these fools.

Searching for Saint Shirley. She's suffered the Biden BigMouth Plug. Good job, 'Journalists', keeping Saint Shirley quiet and the President protected...

Desperately seeking Saint Shirley. She was supposed to have been trotted out on all the Sunday shows as the latest Democrat Hero and Patron Saint of RAAAAACIST! Victimhood, a victim of the evil FOX News and Andrew Breitbart. Which is of course a lie.

I guess Saint Shirley's unfettered mouth is a little too troublesome for the Obama and the Left to risk, so their paid journalists, sworn to protect BHO to the bitter end, kept her off the Sunday talk shows.

The New York Times trotted out Van Jones today.

Van Jones, Communist, compares himself to Shirley Sherrod. Thanks, Van, that helps her out a lot. Little 'ole well-slapped-around Van Jones whines that he was tossed out of his comfy White House position because of an avalanche of (of course!) RAAAAACIST information. Too bad the information was about who Van Jones really is, and you were obviously a bad person. Sorry, VJ, you were tossed out because bloggers on the internet vetted you properly; found you to be wanting, and forced easily-spooked BHO to back off and fire you (seems to be a trend, doesn't it?).

As a matter of fact, whiny-ass Van Jones, the news media improperly vetted Barack Hussein Obama (thanks, JournoList assholes), so BHO was elected with a majority of the voting public not knowing a damned thing about his lack of ability to do decent governance. All BHO has is  his ingrained far-left ideology, he can't get past that, and this nation is suffering because of it.

So, Van Jones, you had to deal with this fired-up NEW MEDIA that's now on the case. You and the JournoList bastiches can whine all you want; your times are up.

The JournoListers. White boys and girls, for the most part. Looks like what lefties would call a Tea Party convention, except these mostly all-white faces seem a bit weak around the gills, don't they?

Whoa, there's a couple gals there too. Matthew Yglesias, Spencer Ackerman, Chris Hayes, Mike Allen, David Brock, Ryan Donmoyer, Josh Bearman, Matt Duss. And Harold Pollack. Tim Fernholz. Rick Perlstein. Ben Adler. Marc Ambinder. David Corn. Merril Goozner. Nate Silver.

Typical weak limp-grip Democrats, and they look the part.

Oh, and Paul Krugman. He looks like a well-used toilet brush, doesn't he ?

Hell of a bodyguard lineup you got there, Mr. President.

And you may ask yourself IS THIS THE CHANGE WE VOTED FOR ?

h/t Noel Sheppard

Andrew Breitbart answers his critics

Today, speaking to Matt Lewis, AB answers the media's questions on the [Saint] Shirley Sherrod embroglio. Read the whole thing.

Here's my pull...
Q: So you don't regret how the Shirley Sherrod video story played out?

A: The only regret I have is that the NAACP had the video and didn't look at it. And the White House went after Shirley and could have looked at the video -- and read my piece -- and said that she had a transformation . . . But the NAACP and the White House are the ones who rushed to judgment. The reason the press refuses to explore the possibilities behind why the USDA and the White House moved so swiftly to 'can' Shirley -- Congressman Steve King points to the Pigford settlement [of a discrimination suit against the Department of Agriculture], and Shirley Sherrod's involvement in it. There are major allegations of monumental fraud there. The last thing the administration wants is an investigation into Pigford.

Q: Fox News has been criticized for airing the video and for pushing this story. Do you believe that Fox jumped the gun by running with this story before seeing the full video and putting her words in context?

A: The excerpt that started this, to this day, is newsworthy. It served the purpose of showing there was a double standard between the NAACP accusing the Tea Party. It is the White House -- I reiterate -- it is the White House and [Agriculture Secretary] Tom Vilsack and the NAACP who did not do their due diligence. [That] or they are worried about the political implications of drawing attention to somebody involved in a very controversial matter...

Q: Anything else folks should know about this or about Andrew Breitbart?

A
: Believe it or not, one of my primary motives on this planet is to stop this racism, and to stop the Democratic Party's use of race that divides us intentionally. Google me and Clarence Thomas. I went from left to right because I watched this tactic happen to him and I aligned myself with black conservatives. Free thinkers recognize the Democratic Party will do or say anything to instill fear into black Democratic voters...Shirley Sherrod in that video said those who disagree with Obamacare are coming from a racist point of view. That is a troubling racist sentiment.
The good fight, Andrew Breitbart. Keep fighting.

Those of you, Conservatives, Team R, who might want to waver in AB's defense, remember this: Andrew Breitbart is a Sheepdog. Stop trying to paint him white.

Andrew Breitbart, for the win~!

A damned shame you have to go overseas to read media coverage that's not tainted with the biases of the American Left. We have no good new organizations left on this continent, it seems.  From the BBC...

US officials stumble on the firing of Shirley Sherrod

Forget race for a moment and reflect on the quality of governance in all this.

Shirley Sherrod was apparently ruthlessly dumped by people who hadn't bothered to view her entire speech, ask for a transcript or even ask for her point of view.

So quickly did the White House become involved that it looks suspiciously like there's some sort of system by which individual departments have to flag up anything with a sensitive racial component directly to Team Obama.

The trouble is that Team Obama doesn't seem to know what to do once it is alerted.

It's only a year since President Barack Obama said a white police officer who arrested a black academic in his own home had acted "stupidly".

It turned out, of course, that the case was slightly more complicated than that and Mr Obama ended up hosting the painfully awkward "beer summit" at the White House - after which the policeman and the professor merely said they had agreed to disagree on the matter.
Saint Shirley, with the (hopefully) huge litigation against BHO and the NAACP. What could be more fitting?

And this...
The Tea Party movement has energised the American right in the past few months and one of the most effective tactics of the American left against it has been to argue that it's somewhat racist in tone - or at least, that it doesn't do enough to control a racist fringe.

That charge has come in the main from the NAACP, acting as a kind of proxy for the Democrats. Clearly it would limit the effectiveness of the tea-partiers if they had to spend all their energies fighting charges of racism.

So the attack on Mrs Sherrod was a kind of counter-blast from the right against the NAACP, putting it on the defensive on race and making it look frankly ridiculous.

It may seem harsh that Mrs Sherrod got caught up in it all, as collateral damage, but American politics is a tough neighbourhood in election year. [emboldenings mine -ed.]
Yes, the NAACP is a proxy for the Democrats. Check.

Yes, the Tea Party is falsely accused of RAAAAACIST! activities (look no further than JournoList asshole Spencer (throw 'em through a plate glass WINDOW!) Ackerman, Wired's new-hire as Danger Room blogger...you guys at WIRED hopefully increased your liability coverage when this turd came on board, right?). Check.

Andrew Breitbart's attack was NOT on Saint Shirley, but on the NAACP. Who fired Saint Shirley? Andrew Breitbart, or Barack Hussein Obama ? Who threw Saint Shirley under the bus? Well, Barack Hussein Obama and the NAACP's Ben Jealous, of course. Check

The Left, left looking frankly ridiculous. Check.

Arizona will prove a tough challenge to lawsuit-happy Barack Hussein Obama, who really doesn't have a clue on how to do his job properly, because that would mean his acknowledging the Constitution.

So far, in two separate hearings, legal wrangling by BHO's attorneys have failed to secure their requested injunction stopping Arizona's new immigration enforcement law from going into effect next week. Seems the Judge overseeing the case, U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton, is asking some very uncomfortable questions of BHO's minions; she's not 'snapping into place' as quickly as BHO would like...
PHOENIX — The judge who will decide whether Arizona's new immigration law is constitutional hasn't indicated whether she'll put the statute on hold before it takes effect next week and had some pointed questions Thursday for challengers at two court hearings.

U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton also went beyond dry legal analysis to point out some of the everyday realities of illegal immigration and how that applies to the new law.

Without prodding from attorneys, the judge noted that the federal government erected signs in a wilderness area south of Phoenix that warn visitors about immigrant and drug smugglers passing through public lands. She said the stash houses where smugglers hide immigrants from Mexico before bringing them into the country's interior have become a fixture on the news in Arizona.

"You can barely go a day without a location being found in Phoenix where there are numerous people being harbored," said Bolton, who didn't issue a ruling after the two hearings.
Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, speaking on Greta Van Susteren's show last night...

A strong woman, Governor Brewer, who stands up to BHO, and stands for written laws and for what's obviously right. Sad that Leftists seek only to promulgate their ideology (and secure votes for Democrat looters; illegal aliens seeking amnesty are simply Undocumented Democrats) whilst ignoring the various laws and the Constitution.

We'll be so glad to see them finally gone, or at least subdued.

Is it 2012 yet ?

Unemployment benefits (AKA "Neo-Welfare Checks" or "Stupid Checks") should be extended to the unemployed until 2012 ~!

...because there will be no improvement in the jobs market, or in the economy, until Barack Hussein Obama and Democrats are flushed from office.

Washington(CNN) -- A bill that restores unemployment benefits to 2.5 million jobless Americans passed the Senate and goes to the House on Thursday. It is expected to pass there are well.

The bill pushes back the deadline to file for extended unemployment benefits until the end of November.

The Senate on Wednesday voted 59 to 39 to restore the benefits, ending a seven-week stalemate.

After the Senate vote, President Obama urged the House to act swiftly and pledged to sign the bill soon afterward.
But Stupid Checks create jobs! Just listen to Democrat Nancy Pelosi...

O's jobs errors

Why the president failed so miserably to deliver

The White House last year released a supposedly scientific analysis that claimed to show that adopting the "stimulus" bill would cut unemployment. Indeed, the report specifically estimated that the unemployment rate today would be down to 7.5 percent.

Something obviously went wrong. The actual unemployment rate is 9.5 percent, a statistic that doesn't include the millions who've given up looking for work or can only find part-time jobs. What were President Obama's biggest mistakes?

Part of the problem was a misplaced faith in Keynesian economics -- that is, in the discredited notion that politicians can borrow money from the economy's right pocket and increase prosperity by dumping money in the economy's left pocket.

But the bigger stumbling block is the folks in the White House seem to have no clue how the real-world economy works. Critics have noted that the Obama Cabinet sets the record for the lowest-ever level of private-sector experience. That doesn't necessarily mean people who don't understand how and why jobs are created -- but that seems to be the case with this administration
Worst.Administration.Evah.

Regardless of SAINT SHIRLEY's employment status, it's been fun watching Ben Jealous, the White House and the NAACP get slapped upside the head by Andrew Breitbart's Alinksybat.

Ahhh, but to watch the NAACP suffer such confuzzlements! It is to savor. Thank you, Mr. Andrew Breitbart, for the solid ‘chunk’ of your Alinskybat upside the Left’s thick skulls.

More of that, please. Any time anyone gives those to the Left what they deserve, makes 'em jerkabout like mad puppets, I'm happily on board.

Andrew Breitbart is feared by the Left; from Obama all the way down to the Media Matters toilet bowl-scrubbing object Eric Boehlert.

Oh, and on Saint Shirley...

I’ve listened to some 40 minutes of Saint Shirley’s droneings. If I could bottle that speaking as a sleep elixir, I’d be a rich man.

An ordinary person with an extraordinary job (controlling nearly a billion dollars of taxpayer's monies) should show a more professional demeanor. There was nothing in that 40-minute speech that was exceptional; nothing of real quality or value. And, she professed religious beliefs, which has to leave most proggtards uncomfortable.

Am I making the case that she wasn’t very well-qualified for her position in the USDA? Yes. There’s no evidence that she sought to improve herself after her appointment, there's no great effort she made to rise to the occasion. And her comments 'Get a Government Job! Can't get fired!' shows she's not taking her position seriously.

Her appointment and subsequent firing was not as it seems, as Dr. Douglas points out: her appointment was payoff, and her firing was payback (for successfully suing the USDA, and winning a Social Settlement). Somewhere in the process she’s to be found, a wet spot in the flour.

Oh, and Saint Shirley, at 24:14…
[On the Health Care Debate] “Some of the racism we thought was buried, resurfaced. Now we endured 8 years of the Bushes, and we didn’t do the stuff these Republicans are doing because you have a black President.”
Her head was stuck up her ass for 8 years, wasn’t it?  A typical lefty hater who just caught a bit of the Alinskybat.

Righteous~!

Spencer Ackerman, far-left 'journalist', begged playing the RACISM Card: "Pick one of BHO's critics, Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”

The Daily Caller has an explosive story up; more of the Journolist documents. Seems many lefty newsers are  to become embarrassed again by documents proving that much of the left-leaning media plotted to "kill stories about Reverend Wright" during Obama's run to the November 2008 election...
Documents show media plotting to kill stories about Rev. Jeremiah Wright

It was the moment of greatest peril for then-Sen. Barack Obama’s political career. In the heat of the presidential campaign, videos surfaced of Obama’s pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, angrily denouncing whites, the U.S. government and America itself. Obama had once bragged of his closeness to Wright. Now the black nationalist preacher’s rhetoric was threatening to torpedo Obama’s campaign.

The crisis reached a howling pitch in mid-April, 2008, at an ABC News debate moderated by Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos. Gibson asked Obama why it had taken him so long – nearly a year since Wright’s remarks became public – to dissociate himself from them. Stephanopoulos asked, “Do you think Reverend Wright loves America as much as you do?”
I thought Stephanopoulos' question was a bit weak at the time, given it was clear that both 'Reverend' Wright and Barack Hussein Obama were subsumed in Black Liberation Theology and both did have racist chips on their shoulders. But these lefty Journolist sorts thought differently...
Watching this all at home were members of Journolist, a listserv comprised of several hundred liberal journalists, as well as like-minded professors and activists. The tough questioning from the ABC anchors left many of them outraged. “George [Stephanopoulos],” fumed Richard Kim of the Nation, is “being a disgusting little rat snake.”
Then and after, the media collusion began: SAVE OBAMA! OUR HERO! OUR PROGRESSIVE FUTURE! PRAISE the ONE!...
Others went further. According to records obtained by The Daily Caller, at several points during the 2008 presidential campaign a group of liberal journalists took radical steps to protect their favored candidate. Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.
What's surprising is finding "The Huffington Post" listed here as a true news organization. I would never consider Huff 'n Blow a credible source of any news or political information; they and their La Grande Dame are far below my level of contempt. They are on near-equal footing with Markos and his group of shit-flinging monkeys at the Daily Kos, AFAIC.

...but this the the most egregious line...
In one instance, Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent urged his colleagues to deflect attention from Obama’s relationship with Wright by changing the subject. Pick one of Obama’s conservative critics, Ackerman wrote, “Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists.”
That, my friends, is the tactic the Left uses when they have nothing of substance and simply MUST stop any further activity or discussion on a particular subject.

RACE JOKER SPENCER ACKERMAN

This little turd Spencer Ackerman just landed at job at Wired, in their 'prestigious' Danger Room blog. Congrats, Wired, you've gained a leftist Race Joker, and lost a reader.

h/t to Dan Collins at POWIP
UPDATE

Spencer Ackerman's quote in context, from Big Journalism...
I do not endorse a Popular Front, nor do I think you need to. It’s not necessary to jump to Wright-qua-Wright’s defense. What is necessary is to raise the cost on the right of going after the left. In other words, find a rightwinger’s [sic] and smash it through a plate-glass window. Take a snapshot of the bleeding mess and send it out in a Christmas card to let the right know that it needs to live in a state of constant fear. Obviously I mean this rhetorically.

And I think this threads the needle. If the right forces us all to either defend Wright or tear him down, no matter what we choose, we lose the game they’ve put upon us. Instead, take one of them — Fred Barnes, Karl Rove, who cares — and call them racists. Ask: why do they have such a deep-seated problem with a black politician who unites the country? What lurks behind those problems? This makes *them* sputter with rage, which in turn leads to overreaction and self-destruction.
I hope this fucker's career is toast.

NAACP Banquet Speaker Speaks Vile RACISMs

Obama's Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsack, appointed Shirley Sherrod as Georgia's Director of Rural Development on July 25, 2009, where she worked helping spend billions of non-existent ObamaDollars. Well, she worked for the USDA, on taxpayer's dime...up until this week.

She was fired for speaking RACISM at the NAACP (gasp~! say it ain't so, you Race Card Playin' Fools!) Freedom Fund Banquet in Georgia, March 27, 2010, just three short months before the NAACP and Michelle Obama decried supposed Tea Party racism at their meeting in Kansas City.

But...but...I thought racism was only a one-way street, that black people couldn't possibly be RAAAAACIST!, especially in Obama's post-racial America.

Guess I was wrong.
The Agriculture Department announced Monday, shortly after FoxNews.com published its initial report on the video, that Sherrod had resigned.

"There is zero tolerance for discrimination at USDA, and I strongly condemn any act of discrimination against any person," Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a written statement. "We have been working hard through the past 18 months to reverse the checkered civil rights history at the department and take the issue of fairness and equality very seriously." [emboldenings mine -ed.]
Oh, and when did you ever see "zero tolerance" and "resigned" appear in the same termination of employment announcement? Her ass was FIRED, and here's hoping she was escorted to the front door kicking and screaming and shown her way out whilst in the custody of a Federal security officer~!

Enjoy your time in the unemployment line, there, Shirley. You've earned it.

OH! Especially sweet...
In a second clip from the same event posted online, Sherrod appeared to urge black job seekers to find work at the Department of Agriculture because the federal government won't lay people off.

"There are jobs at USDA and many times there are no people of color to fill those jobs because we shy away from agriculture. We hear the word agriculture and think, why are we working in the fields?" she said. "You've heard of a lot of layoffs. Have you heard of anybody in the federal government losing their job? That's all I need to say."
As a matter of fact, Shirley, I have heard of federal government employees losing their jobs. It usually takes a monumental act of stupidity, of overwhelming imprudence and thick-wittedness, much as you've more than amply demonstrated.

But if it'd been a white guy doing the same sort of thing to a black person? I would expect the same results.

It's about time we see what goes around, come back around and bite, and just as hard.

Let's drag the sniping, role-playing NAACP out for a Tea Summit on RAAAAACISM. They need to be defanged.

Race Card Joker: Benjamin Jealous

Again and again, we find the agents of the Left (now the most destructive political movement to our Republic this nation has ever seen or known, empowered now under Barack Obama and his far-left Democrat majority; these far-left ideologues are also known as 'Progressives' or 'Social Democrats' or just 'Democrats') attacking their political and ideological challengers with the flanking, delaying tactic known as Playing the Race Card: they call Racisms! for the thinnest of reasonings; and while doing so, ignore their own built-in racisms. "National Association for the Advancement of Colored People": give me a break. Your time is over; you need to be relegated to the dust bin of history, along with the Ku Klux Klan and White Supremicists (your real counterparts, btw; not the new Tea Party).

The latest engagement is the NAACP's declaration that the Tea Party is inherently racist. We've heard this from lefty sorts ever since the Tea Party came into being; finally, there's enough strength in the Tea Party movement, and Obama's polling numbers aren't looking so healthy, so the NAACCCP has attacked, predictably, using the race card. They found a weak link in Mark Williams.

The Tea Party has answered the call for a "Tea Summit" with the NAACP, to explore the depth of racism in their midst; AND to speak to the nation's bubbling cauldron of race division. Ben Jealous (head of the NAACP) faced off against David Webb (Tea Party leader) yesterday on "Face the Nation". David Webb tells Jealous he's playing the race card; Jealous is setting up the Tea Party as the counter group to the NAACP. That's just not the case. The Tea Party is not about race. Predictably, Jealous wants his Race Card kept safe...
Jealous said he was open to the idea, but said the forum should address issues other than race. “There should be no debate about racism,” he said.
Of course not. Jealous of his prize weapon, he is; keep it available and usable forever, he wishes.

Listen, and listen carefully:

WE. ARE. NOT. RACISTS.

We disagree vehemently with the ideology and the policies put forth by the current Administration, being far-left as it is. We are not all socialists now, and we will never be all of the Social Democrat, Progressive, Liberal mindset. This Republic was not designed to be socialist or single-party; any attempt to drive it in that direction is anti-Constitutional and has to be stopped, to save this Republic.

Otherwise, we should just disband the damned thing right now. Allow the far-left sorts to congregate in their East - West corridors, in their cessburgs. And let 'em beg for the Red States to feed 'em.

Let's have this 'Tea Summit' about race; I think it's an excellent idea. Let's push their "RAAAAAACISM" calls right back in their faces. The end result might mean we can really get down to speaking to the ideology of Left vs. Right, and the fate of our Republic.

"...from beyond the grave I spit at thee..." Harry Reid catches fire from the dead

Oil Spill Timeline

Oil Spill Timeline Update Day 84 from RightChange on Vimeo.
Here is latest update to the Obama Administrations handling of the Oil Spill in the gulf.

Barack Obama's slow start to managing Katrina the Gulf Oil Spill is shown in an excellent campaign-style video. A fine job, Mr. President; to vote yourself 'PRESENT' for 70 days. You couldn't even deliver to give one of your patented uplifting speeches to save your scrawny ass.

The 'special' has worn off of this little president man. We're seeing the midget hiding behind the curtain, not even speaking well enough to entertain his paid-for media mouthpieces.

And what about some further comparison? Mr. Bush lifted the Jones Act to allow help from foreign powers 2 days after Katrina. Obama, to protect his Union buddies, never did, even when the Dutch offered help 3 days after the rig's collapse.

This video includes commentary from James Carville, Jon Stewart, Keith Olberdouche, Chris (shaky leg) Matthews, on BHO's Day 58 Oral Office speech. None of their commentary is as worshipful as we saw from them during the run-up to the 2008 election.

So, to combat his flat-lining polls, what does Mr. Obama do? He's dragging Bill Clinton out of hiding, putting him in charge of the 2010 election efforts.

That's right, Bill Clinton, the RACIST.

Now we're going to see some real funs.

Popcorn !

Raising Splodeydopes and Socialists: Quick Takes

Ramirez cartoon spotted over at pw...

The New York Times laments that Gazans are suffering. But they are suffering because they launched attacks on Israel, and their leaders in HAMAS (when they aren't fighting with rival FATAH elements) are adamant about their desire to remove Israel from 'Palestine'.

Islam, the religion, really is in dire need of reform.
Sitting with eight other women at a stress clinic, Jamalat Wadi, 28, tried to listen to the mental health worker. But she could not contain herself. She has eight children, and her unemployed husband spends his days on sedatives.

“Our husbands don’t work, my kids are not in school, I get nervous, I yell at them, I cry, I fight with my husband,” she blurted. “My husband starts fighting with us and then he cries: ‘What am I going to do? What can I do?’ ”

...

Domestic violence is on the rise. The strain is acute for women. Men can go out and sit in parks, in chairs right on the sidewalk or visit friends. Women are expected to stay off the streets.

The women at the stress clinic gathered about 10 a.m. They entered silently, wearing the ubiquitous hijab head scarf and ankle-length button-down overcoat known as the jilbab. Two wore the niqab over their faces.

...

Families are big. From 1997 through 2007, the population increased almost 40 percent, to 1.5 million. Palestinians say that large families will help them cope as they age, and more children mean more fighters for their cause.
How's about getting a reform movement going, Pali women? Stop having kids. Stop wearing hijabs. Stop raising splodeydopes. Reform Islam. It's the only way to get out of this Muhammad - Muslim - Islam religion that's created and enforced the hell you're living in.

Hey, we'll be happy to send over as many feminists as you need to get you started. Let's empty Berkeley and Columbia University and send the requisite number of lefty feminist gals over to all the Islamic nations, just to show 'em how it's done.

These newly-hatched American feminist sorts won't get jobs over here anymore, that's for sure.

Bill Haslam's Pilot Oil Guilty of Gouging Tennesseans in the wake of Hurricane Ike in 2008: Video

I'm supporting Ron Ramsey for Governor of Tennessee, btw. Just to get that out there.

Why, you ask? Glad you did! Three good reasons:
  • Ron Ramsey supports Arizona
  • Ron Ramsey is the Tea Party candidate
  • Ron Ramsey is strong in support of the 2nd Amendment. Zach Wamp and Bill Haslam? Not so much.
Ron Ramsey on Obama's decision to sue Arizona...
“Just when you think it unfathomable that Washington can get any crazier, they announce news highlighting just how out of touch they are with mainstream Americans.

I’ve said before that I fully back Arizona’s efforts to enforce immigration law and secure their borders from the scourge of violence and crime that illegal immigration is causing in their state. In fact, when I am elected the next conservative Governor of Tennessee, I will enact a similar measure.

“The primary function of the federal government is to protect its citizens from foreign threats and if President Obama won’t act, then Governors across this nation will act to protect our citizens.

“We are a nation originally comprised of immigrants and while I support legal immigration, we must never forget that we are a nation of laws and they must be upheld. Those seeking to come to our country through legal avenues are always welcome in America and the state of Tennessee,” stated Ramsey.
Twenty Tea Party organizations endorse Ron Ramsey...
TENNESSEE (July 5, 2010) – An association of twenty Tea Party organizations representing every corner of the state announced today that they are endorsing Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey for the next Governor of Tennessee.

These groups arrived at their decisions following a thorough, three-month vetting process, which included research into the candidates’ backgrounds and voting records, completion of vetting questionnaires, and culminated in a vetting forum near Nashville on June 27th. Republican, Democratic, and Independent candidates were considered for their knowledge, commitment, and record on the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, fiscal responsibility, the role of the State and Federal Governments, and protection of the rights of individuals.
Gun Owners of America endorsed Ron Ramsey (the NRA is a bit slower on the draw)...
Gun Owners of America Supports Ron Ramsey for Governor

(Springfield, VA)—Gun Owners of America Political Victory Fund today announced the endorsement of Ron Ramsey for Governor of Tennessee.

Ramsey, the current Lieutenant Governor, “Displays a constitutional and historically accurate understanding of the Second Amendment and the threats that face it today,” said GOA Vice-Chairman Tim Macy.

As a strong Tenth Amendment advocate, Ramsey believes that “We must have a Governor who can stand up to federal officials who want to erode our basic rights.”

In 1997, while serving in the state legislature, Ramsey pushed a concealed carry bill that improved the state’s right-to-carry. Ramsey’s bill, which was signed into law, streamlined the application process so honest, law-abiding citizens would not have to wait up to a year to receive their permit.

GOA-PVF noted, in a letter to supporters, that Ramsey’s strong support of the Constitution and the Second Amendment stands in stark contrast to other candidates in the race.

Bill Haslam, mayor of Knoxville since 2003, was a member of New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg’s gun-grabbing group Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

As a member of the group, Bill Haslam’s name was part of a 2007 letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi supporting a bill to prohibit the hundreds of thousands of people on the federal government’s so-called terror “watch list” from purchasing firearms.

Under the bill, the Attorney General is permitted to strip away the civil liberties of Americans without due process of law and without the accused even knowing the details of the suspicion.

This provision was part of a larger bill that would have federalized even more gang and gun crimes, which properly belong at the state and local levels.

In 2008, Haslam’s name again appeared on a letter to Reid and Pelosi seeking to close the non-existent and misleadingly named “gun show loophole.” This legislation would have led to the closing down of gun shows and opened the door to complete federal control of private firearms transactions.

“As soon as Haslam announced his bid for governor, he left Bloomberg’s anti-gun group with much haste. If that isn’t the clearest sign of pandering and lip service, then we don’t know what is,” said Macy.

Another opponent in the race, Representative Zach Wamp, was criticized by GOA for “joining forces with Sen. John McCain to put a stranglehold on free speech over his support for the so-called Campaign Finance Reform Act.

“When Republican opposition stymied the bill in 2001, the anti-freedom crowd circulated a ‘discharge petition’ to force it on to the House floor. Zach Wamp joined a handful of other Republican turncoats to help pass a law that made it illegal to publish certain political information within 30 days of a primary or 60 days of a general election.

“Of all the types of speech protected by the First Amendment, political speech was foremost on the minds of the Founding Fathers. Just this year, the U.S. Supreme Court recognized that fact and in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission (a case in which Gun Owners Foundation participated) undid much of the damage caused by Wamp and his congressional allies.

“In this race for Governor, the choice for gun owners and sportsmen is clear. Ron Ramsey is a proven, effective and constitutionally minded leader who will stand up to all attacks on our right to keep and bear arms,” concluded Mr. Macy.
Good enough for me.

Good Luck and Following Seas, Ron Ramsey.

New Black Panther Party's Belligerent, Threatening 'Post-Racial' Tone is Hard on Democrats.

...as evidenced by this exchange between a California voter and her Democrat representative at a townhall meeting; followed up by an even better smackdown by Megan Kelly to Democrat strategist, liberal apologist New York Post columnist Kirsten Powers.

Catfight par excellence!

George Steinbrenner, Owner, New York Yankees, dies @ 80.

I note this because I was a fan of the Yankees, back in the late '70's, when they played so many World Series matchups against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Of course, with the Arizona Diamondbacks coming on board in the late '90's, I dropped much interest in the Yankees (and threw away my worn-out Yankees ball cap).

Diamondbacks win World Series 2001 vs. the Yankees. I'm surprised George survived much past that.

Bredesen joins worried-ass Democrat Governors to warn White House about foolhardy Arizona Immigration Lawsuit: "TOXIC"

Just look at the long faces. Phil Bredesen, (D, Bunker Hill) stands with Deval Patrick (D) of Massachusetts, Joe Manchin III (D) of West Virginia (who is looking to run for Robert Byrd's (D, King of Pork) seat) and Bob McDonnell, Republican from Virginia, who has to be inwardly smiling, smiling, smiling.

Even the Obama-loving New York Times sees the handwriting on the wall...
BOSTON — In a private meeting with White House officials this weekend, Democratic governors voiced deep anxiety about the Obama administration’s suit against Arizona’s new immigration law, worrying that it could cost a vulnerable Democratic Party in the fall elections.
Of course, we've known for over two years that Barack Hussein Obama could not lead this country; that he would make foolish decisions (e.g. ObamaCare) because he was a child in a candy store. All Democrats seem to have chosen paths that led to taking more and more from those who provide jobs and desire only to 'redistribute' 'wealth' to the undeserving moochers, who would rather stick out their hands and promise their votes to looters - plunderers for the highest bid of Other People's Money. ObamaCare likely won't get off the ground: it's unfundable. We can't afford it.

Others hit by the cluebat include Robert Gibbs, White House spokestard...
Republicans have been saying it for months. Some analysts have said it for weeks. Now the White House’s own spokesman is also saying it: The GOP is in a good position to retake control of the House in the November elections from the Democrats.

There’s no doubt there are enough seats in play that could cause Republicans to gain control,” White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “There’s no doubt about that. This will depend on strong campaigns by Democrats. And again, I think we’ve got to take the issues to them.” [emboldenings mine -.ed]

Now, we have Obama's rush to sue Arizona, a hopeless bondoggle that Phil Bredesen calls "toxic"...
Universally the governors are saying, ‘We’ve got to talk about jobs,’ ” Gov. Phil Bredesen of Tennessee, a Democrat, said in an interview. “And all of a sudden we have immigration going on.”

He added, “It is such a toxic subject, such an important time for Democrats.”
Like an oil spill, Governor Bredesen? Another OilBama disaster?

Admit it, Democrats. Obama has chosen poorly, again, and has led you to a predictable, almost guaranteed defeat in November. So much for the first post-partisan and post-racial presidency. Hell, you should've asked for his college transcripts; likely he hid them for good reason. He can hide his transcripts, but he can't cover the stark reality that is his laid-bare stupidity on display for the world to see.

Jonah Goldberg on NASA : NASA's crucial missions hijacked by liberal agenda

Here ya go. More fallout from Holden's declaration that BHO wants NASA to perform 'outreach' instead of, you know, real space exploration. It's all about the narrative.

Jonah Goldberg... "Now, contemporary liberalism is not an evil ideology. Its intentions aren't evil or even fruitfully comparable to Hitlerism. But there is a liberal Gleichschaltung all the same. Every institution must be on the same page. Every agency must advance the liberal agenda.

And this is where the Catch-22 catches. The dream of a nimble government is undone by the reality of hyper-mission creep. When every institution is yoked to an overarching philosophy or mission, its actual purpose can become an afterthought. In 2005, volunteer firefighters from all over the country offered to help with Katrina's aftermath. But FEMA sent many of them to Atlanta first to undergo diversity and sexual harassment training (which most already had).

Such examples are everywhere. What is political correctness other than the gears of the liberal Gleichschaltung? The financial crisis was worsened because Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac became tools for liberal social engineering. Let's not even mention public schools.

The White House is determined to be a great friend (i.e., servant) to the unions, so everything from the stimulus to the automaker buyout to the Gulf spill must first pass union muster. Remember those vital, "shovel-ready" weatherization jobs the stimulus was supposed to pay for? The Labor Department delayed them for nearly a year while trying to figure out how to comply with pro-union "prevailing wage" rules for each of more than 3,000 counties.

Liberalism has become a cargo cult to the New Deal, but many of the achievements of the New Deal would be impossible now. Just try to get a Hoover Dam built today.

President Obama likes to say "if we could put a man on the moon" we can do anything, from socializing medicine to abandoning fossil fuels. That's nonsense on stilts for a host of reasons. But it's also ironic, given that we can't even put a man on the moon anymore. Not when NASA's foremost priority is boosting the self-esteem of children and Muslims."

Oh, and this was a test post, from email. Forgive if it doesn't work as it should.

The Cutting Edge

Hotmail is redefining busy with tools for the New Busy. Get more from your inbox. See how.

Senator Byrd (D, King of Pork), despite years of Government Largess, leaves West Virginia much the same as he found it: crappy.

Good point, Chip...
If sucking at the teat of Big Government makes you stronger and healthier, why isn’t West Virginia one of the richest states in the nation? Instead, when measured by the jobs its has created, the pay for those jobs, the living standards of its inhabitants, the quality of medical care and education and just about any other standard that’s important to your quality of life, West Virginia is a disaster.
Anything Democrats touch and control is a disaster. See: Detroit; Los Angeles; Michigan; Washington DC; Chicago; Philthydelphia; California. Just to mention a few.

Democrats ruin cities, counties, states, and watch! our very own Nation. It's just what they do.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, Hero, fights BHO's Illegal Immigration Lawsuit

My heart goes out to the long-suffering people of my home state. Now, they are faced with Barack Hussein Obama, the Worst U.S. President Ever, and his radical, anti-American agenda. Luckily, there's a few good people left, real Americans, who will fight tooth and nail against this Administration and it's onslaught of social CHANGE...
PHOENIX“Today I was notified that the federal government has filed a lawsuit against
the State of Arizona. It is wrong that our own federal government is suing the people of Arizona
for helping to enforce federal immigration law. As a direct result of failed and inconsistent
federal enforcement, Arizona is under attack from violent Mexican drug and immigrant
smuggling cartels. Now, Arizona is under attack in federal court from President Obama and his
Department of Justice. Today's filing is nothing more than a massive waste of taxpayer funds.
These funds could be better used against the violent Mexican cartels than the people of Arizona.

“The truth is the Arizona law is both reasonable and constitutional. It mirrors substantially
what has been federal law in the United States for many decades. Arizona’s law is designed to
complement, not supplant, enforcement of federal immigration laws. Despite the Department of
Justice’s claims in paragraph 62 of today’s lawsuit, Arizona is not trying ‘to establish its own
immigration policy’ or ‘directly regulate the immigration status of aliens.’ Arizona Revised
Statutes § 11-1051(E) states that the federal government, along with local law enforcement
officers authorized by the federal government, can only determine an alien’s immigration status.
Subsection (L) of that same section goes on to state that the law ‘shall be implemented in a
manner consistent with federal laws regulating immigration.’

“The irony is that President Obama’s Administration has chosen to sue Arizona for helping
to enforce federal immigration law and not sue local governments that have adopted a
patchwork of ‘sanctuary’ policies that directly violate federal law. These patchwork local
‘sanctuary’ policies instruct the police not to cooperate with federal immigration officials.

“The best thing government can do is to create a stable, predictable environment, governed
by an easily understood set of rules or laws. We do not need to make this more complicated
than it already is. We must first and foremost create a secure border. Enhanced trade,
economic opportunity and freedom will surely follow.

“I am pleased that President Obama and the Department of Justice did not pursue the
baseless claims of illegal racial profiling in the lawsuit. When signing S.B. 1070, I said, ‘My
signature today represents my steadfast support for enforcing the law — both against illegal
immigration AND against racial profiling.’ Arizona’s law expressly prohibits unconstitutional racial
profiling. However, words are not enough. For this reason, I ordered the Arizona Peace Officer
Standards and Training Board (AZPOST) to develop training on the new law for Arizona’s police
officers. AZPOST has completed the training course and has published it for the all world to
see at www.azpost.state.az.us/SB1070infocenter.htm. AZPOST has done its job professionally
and served Arizona well.

“I will not stop fighting to protect the citizens of Arizona, and to defend Arizonans in federal
court. I have set up a legal defense fund to pay the substantial legal fees that Arizona has been,
and will be, forced to incur as a result of all of these lawsuits. Contributions to the Border
Security and Immigration Defense Fund can be made at www.keepazsafe.com. My legal team
will not hesitate to assert the rights of the State of Arizona in this matter. Arizona will ultimately
prevail against the lawsuits – including this latest assault by the Obama Administration. Our laws
will be found to be constitutional – because that is exactly what they are.”
Here you go, help Arizona beat Barack Hussein Obama's crazy lawsuit.

NASA relegated to "Community Organizing" role.

NASA's chief Charles Bolden revealed that Barack Hussein Obama's prime directive to NASA is to "Improve Relations with the Muslim world".

Gene Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon (the last American EVAH to walk on the moon?) speaks out about Mr. Bolden's outreach to al-Jazeera...

You elected him. He's your idiot. Suffer, you will.

Let’s see if Charles Bolden can do something real, use his mouth and speak to his new ‘friend’ at al Jazeera, make a salient enough point to the ‘Muslim world’ where it might actually do some good.

Save this woman’s life, Charles Bolden. If not, if you fail, then nuke the Iranian weapons facilities from orbit. That might get more ‘Muslim world’ attention than all of the accumulated words of your and Obama’s lifetimes.

Is there any valid reason for the NRA to possibly endorse Harry Reid over Sharron Angle ? Other than that a tossed steak is good?

One fine mess this is.

I voted for Bart Gordon (D), TN 6th District Representative, for over a decade, largely because the NRA endorsed him; he was deemed OK because his moderate 2nd Amendment stances weren't actively anti-gun. I also voted for Albert Gore (D) for US Senator from Tennessee for the same reasons. They, during that 'blue dog' Democrat period were, using the thin sliver of one single facet of political judgment, deemed acceptable enough for the NRA, and therefore for me.

But times have drastically changed.

We cannot continue to support these obviously deeply flawed candidates just because they (maybe in pretense) don't support (for the moment) the anti-gun agenda; support them just because they aren't 'right now' pushing for immediate Gun Control. So what if they seem OK, right now?

Gun Control is a party plank of the Democrat party; just read the NYT or the Chicago Tribune to see these 'real' Democrats wailing for complete gun bans. Flaming leftists like Illinois' Dick Durbin and New York's Chuck Schumer would seize your gun rights in a heartbeat, were they allowed to do so.

We at the NRA must open up our endorsement screening processes to factor in the wider anti-gun, pro-left agendas that now dominate the American failure that is the Democrat Party.

How about starting right now?

You, we, the NRA, must get with the reality that is the new America: Democrats are now far-left, and are the enemy of free peoples.

Seems that we can't ever support Democrats anymore, for any reason whatsoever. They have become The Enemy of Free Peoples; they are now on the Dark Side. Harry Reid supports Elena Kagan, who is an anti-gun pro-leftist-agenda Obama-rubber-stamp Supreme Court nominee. How does the NRA's possible endorsement of Harry Reid over Sharron Angle thwart the eventual success of Obama's Kagan nomination?

Just because Reid owns a shotgun, and gave a few thousand dollars to a Nevada trap club, doesn't mean he's your friend. Ever head of throwing a junkyard dog a steak, so you can get by it to steal what it should be protecting? You, the NRA, are the junkyard dog. This offhand 'donation' Reid gave to Nevada trap shooters was an undercooked steak. Reid the thief is now free to rip out parts with impunity whilst you feast on a lame-ass distraction. You will have failed.

Better that you ignore the steak and go for the jugular.

NRA, it's time you stopped straddling the fence and supporting Democrats. You cannot with any real conviction convince me, a lifetime NRA member, that your endorsement of Harry Reid is the correct choice. You must factor in his other 'qualities', mostly the fact that Reid, one of the leaders of the new far-left Democrat party, is now your, our, enemy. To endorse Harry Reid seems more like accepting that tossed steak, rather than making a calculated, correct decision.

Let me add this:

If you, the NRA-ILA, find your way to support and endorse Harry Reid over Sharron Angle, you will lose my membership. Period. End of story.

That is all.

America's Great Recession: We Can't Shake It

No matter how much stimulus President Obama and the Democrats want to throw at it, we've hit a brick wall on Main Street. There's no real growth in quality jobs; a few hundred thousand Census Workers, government largess mostly, don't count for much. Wages aren't increasing. The scourge of price inflation is just over the eastern horizon, set to rise in all it's blazing fiery glory within a few quarters. Our national debt has equaled our GDP; our international stature under Obama's watch isn't the rosy optimistic nirvana pictured when rapt Leftists and easily-swayed independents put the little man in power. When President Bush's tax cuts expire next year, raising even further the cost of doing business in America, punishing those who could provide jobs given the correct incentives, there's going to be more downward pressure on 'the average Joe' because, we all know crap rolls downhill, gathering mass as it accumulates speed.

The real truth isn't found in the New York Times. Most American news outlets, worried that they are, aren't telling the whole story. It's a shame when the best news analysis comes from overseas. This article from the Telegraph.co.uk doesn't pull punches...
With the US trapped in depression, this really is starting to feel like 1932
The US workforce shrank by 652,000 in June, one of the sharpest contractions ever. The rate of hourly earnings fell 0.1pc. Wages are flirting with deflation.

"The economy is still in the gravitational pull of the Great Recession," said Robert Reich, former US labour secretary. "All the booster rockets for getting us beyond it are failing."

"Home sales are down. Retail sales are down. Factory orders in May suffered their biggest tumble since March of last year. So what are we doing about it? Less than nothing," he said.

California is tightening faster than Greece. State workers have seen a 14pc fall in earnings this year due to forced furloughs. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is cutting pay for 200,000 state workers to the minimum wage of $7.25 an hour to cover his $19bn (£15bn) deficit.

Can Illinois be far behind? The state has a deficit of $12bn and is $5bn in arrears to schools, nursing homes, child care centres, and prisons. "It is getting worse every single day," said state comptroller Daniel Hynes. "We are not paying bills for absolutely essential services. That is obscene."
California and Illinois have been under the iron fist of Democrats for decades. Fittingly, they lead the nose-dive to hell.
Roughly a million Americans have dropped out of the jobs market altogether over the past two months. That is the only reason why the headline unemployment rate is not exploding to a post-war high.

Let us be honest. The US is still trapped in depression a full 18 months into zero interest rates, quantitative easing (QE), and fiscal stimulus that has pushed the budget deficit above 10pc of GDP.

The share of the US working-age population with jobs in June actually fell from 58.7pc to 58.5pc. This is the real stress indicator. The ratio was 63pc three years ago. Eight million jobs have been lost.
There's no indication this is turning around, despite the thin smile Obama puts out when asked how the economy is doing. Sorry, he has no clue; he can't fix it.
The average time needed to find a job has risen to a record 35.2 weeks. Nothing like this has been seen before in the post-war era. Jeff Weninger, of Harris Private Bank, said this compares with a peak of 21.2 weeks in the Volcker recession of the early 1980s.

"Legions of individuals have been left with stale skills, and little prospect of finding meaningful work, and benefits that are being exhausted. By our math the crop of people who are unemployed but not receiving a check amounts to 9.2m."

Republicans on Capitol Hill are filibustering a bill to extend the dole for up to 1.2m jobless facing an imminent cut-off. Dean Heller from Vermont called them "hobos". This really is starting to feel like 1932.
Filibustering because we can't afford to continue to print worthless script to further devalue our puny dollar, or keep borrowing from foreign countries to pay for our collapsing infrastructure.

No, Mr. Obama, there's no easy button. We'll have to hit the reset button. And fundamentally CHANGE our ruling Democrat's Depression.
