Which one wins? Joe Wilson: YOU LIE! or Mark Halperin: YOU DICK!

Back-to-back truth-to-power.

And on MSNBC, a network known for it's dicks!

If this had happened on FOX News, LeftLibProggs would be ready to torch the studios. But MSNBC (which only LeftLibProggs watch) won't be harmed; in fact, if Halperin is fired forever, and winds up at FOX, I might just tune in to see what he's all about. Because frankly, I've never watched him, ever, before today, in this short video clip.

This, by Rep. Joe Wilson, albeit less obscene, was more dramatic because more people saw it live and it was right in BHO's lying face. So, hands down, this one is still the winner.

Brings a smile to my stone face, both of 'em.
UPDATE

Rush Limbaugh on Halperin's remarks...the Stock Market surges!

Rush needles well, doesn't he?

Peace Officer vs. Law Enforcement Officer

BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor police officer conducting a check of downtown businesses arrested a local transient shortly before 12:30 a.m. Saturday after finding him charging his two cellphones in an outdoor electrical outlet hidden behind some flowers on Harlow Street.

Shaun Fawster, 23, was charged with theft of services as well as with carrying a concealed weapon, Bangor police Lt. Jeff Millard said Tuesday, citing an arrest report.

The report indicated that Fawster had a folding knife tucked underneath his shirt, Millard said.
This, an excellent example of the difference between a Peace Officer and a Law Enforcement Officer.

A Peace Officer would've warned the guy. A Peace Officer would help a drunk get home from a bar, give him a ride or get him a taxi. Mission accomplished: no one was harmed or injured, and the situation was defused.

This Law Enforcement Officer found a way to make an arrest. That's what they do, that's who they are. They seek out ways to enforce the letter of the law, no matter how trivial or what consequences an arrest will have for the 'lawbreaker' or how much of a chilling effect they cause for society. Law Enforcement Officers seek to build up their own usually overinflated egos, and desire to make sure everyone knows that they are large and in charge.

Our nation now has many more Law Enforcement Officers than Peace Officers, and is in a much sorrier state for it.

Ann Coulter, on Liberals

"Liberals are not like most Americans. They are the biggest pussies on Earth, city-bred weaklings who didn't play a sport and have never been in a fight in their entire lives. Their mothers made excuses for them when they threw tantrums and spent way too much time praising them during toilet training."
...reacting to the mob of LeftLibProggs who attacked Glenn Beck and his family in New York's Bryant Park.

I lurves me some Ann Coulter, don't you know.

UrtheCast: God's Eye?

I don't really know what to make of this. UrtheCast (h/t Theo):

Livestreams are good for more than watching Shiba Puppies (shocking, I know), now that UrtheCast (pronounced “EarthCast”) will be streaming high-definition video of Earth from the International Space Station (ISS). Two HD cameras, one still and one video, will be fixed on the Russian module of the ISS to deliver non-stop 24-hour views of Earth.

The still camera will be taking wide-angle shots spanning 45-kilometers (roughly 27-miles) with a resolution 18-feet per pixel. The other higher resolution 3-feet per pixel camera will be shooting video at 3.25 frames per second.

UrtheCast video will also be running with some custom APIs that will allow you to search, rewind and fast-forward, zoom in and out, and virtually steer the camera. The ISS orbits the Earth 16 times per day, ranging from 52 degrees north latitude to 52 degrees south latitude.

Limited to the orbital path of the ISS; so, if Iran nukes Israel when the ISS is on the opposite side of the planet, that'll be missed. But it might be back around just in time to see Iran (and Mecca) become the world's largest pools of fused silicon.

Greece: “We will see tanks protecting banks because there won’t be enough police to do it,”

If the Greek parliament doesn't pass the necessary austerity measures to prevent a default on it's debt, they will be committing 'suicide'...

Greece faces ‘suicide’ vote on austerity

Greece will be committing “suicide” if its parliament fails to back sweeping austerity measures aimed at averting a catastrophic default, according to the head of the country’s central bank.

The stark warning by George Provopoulos, governor of the Bank of Greece, further heightened the stakes ahead of a knife-edge vote on Wednesday in the Greek parliament.

What's at stake? Why, if you believe the EU president, the fate of the world's economy...

Europe ramped up pressure on the Greek parliament Tuesday to approve drastic austerity measures, warning that it would otherwise face a swift debt default that would rock the world economy.

As Greek police clashed with protesters ahead of this week's vote, Brussels told Greece that no "Plan B" would be waiting if it failed to pass the measures demanded by creditors in return for loans needed to keep Athens afloat.

"There are decisive moments and the coming hours will be decisive, crucial for the Greek people, but also for the eurozone and the stability of the world economy," EU president Herman Van Rompuy told the European parliament.

We'll have to watch this closely. On the left, dirty socialist protesters are screaming bloody murder. Just like they will do here when our country faces austerity measures.

But there is not be a 'Eurozone' to loan us money to bail us out, and the Chinese are becoming petulant, so...

Let's watch, shall we? We can learn just how well dirty socialists behave when they are denied. Poor things.

Financial Times: Dollar set to lose reserve status

..."over the next 25 years", says the august managers of $8,000 billion in sovereign wealth funds for sovereign institutions last week...

The results are the latest sign of dissatisfaction with the dollar as a reserve currency, amid concerns over the US government’s inability to rein in spending and the Federal Reserve’s huge expansion of its balance sheet.

“Right now there is great concern out there around the financial trajectory that the US is on,” said Larry Hatheway, chief economist at UBS.

The US currency has slid 5 per cent so far this year, and is trading close to its lowest ever level against a basket of the world’s major currencies.
If we can retain reserve status for 25 years, I'll be amazed.

If we lose reserve status, that means we can no longer print dollars for to pay our debts to foreign nations, or to buy oil on the world markets. We would have to back up our desires with real, not imaginary, currency. And immediately, we would see financial disaster, as inflation would skyrocket practically overnight.

How many other countries get to buy oil with money they can print in the basement, do you think? Answer: none. Only the country with the reserve status gets to do that, and 'get away' with it.

Which means, soon enough, a world of hurt for our domestic policies which rely on imaginary currency and debt loads shifted to future generations.

Sorry, Democrats, but there's always been a timetable limit for your 'nirvana on earth' cradle-to-grave dirty socialists desires; the limits are becoming ever-more visible and concrete as time passes.

Tick, tock, tick...tock.

Problem in Blogger: BackLinks that were not linked.

For some strange reason, Blogger's backlinks to this here site are not getting linked to the proper posts.

These backlinks always show up in my "Preview" window, all of them at once; but of course they always go away when I publish a post. These were captured from the preview of a post published 6/26/11.

I'm'a gonna contact Blogger and try to see what's up.

This post serves as a tool for Blogger's agents to see what's missing.

Come on, Blogger, let's get backlinks working. Or, better, adapt the industry-standard 'trackback' system used by other blogging sites.

Thanks!

Missing BackLinks below the fold...

Oh, my. Butt-hurt at the gay bar. And, Obama bashed by Maureen Dowd for not being gay (friendly) enough.

A gay bar in New York City, where there was a celebration underway of that confuzzled state's option to exercise it's 10th Amendment right to make laws inside it's own boundaries and pass the gay 'marriage' bill, was raided by the NYPD. American Power Blog has the full story.

Oh, and this, just for...kicks. In the pants.

The teh ghey fortunate cookie spotted first here.

Maureen Dowd wonders if BHO is...well, just see for yourself... (emboldenings mine)

Why Is He Bi? (Sigh)

HE was born this way.

Bi.

Not bisexual. Not even bipartisan. Just binary.

Our president likes to be on both sides at once.

In Afghanistan, he wants to go but he wants to stay. He’s surging and withdrawing simultaneously. He’s leaving fewer troops than are needed for a counterinsurgency strategy and more troops than are needed for a counterterrorism strategy — and he seems to want both strategies at the same time. Our work is done but we have to still be there. Our work isn’t done but we can go.

On Libya, President Obama wants to lead from behind. He’s engaging in hostilities against Qaddafi while telling Congress he’s not engaging in hostilities against Qaddafi.

On the budget, he wants to cut spending and increase spending. On the environment, he wants to increase energy production but is reluctant to drill. On health care, he wants to get everybody covered but will not press for a universal system. On Wall Street, he assails fat cats, but at cocktail parties, he wants to collect some of their fat for his campaign.

And it only gets better. Mo Do also says of Barack Hussein Obama...

"He does not seem deeply affiliated with any side except his own." ...

"The man who was able to beat the Clintons in 2008 because the country wanted a break from Clintonian euphemism and casuistry is now breaking creative new ground in euphemism and casuistry." ...

"Maybe, given all his economic and war woes as he heads into 2012, Obama fears the disapproval of the homophobic elements within his own party. But he has tried to explain his reluctance on gay marriage as an expression of his Christianity, even though he rarely goes to church and is the picture of a secular humanist."

That one's easy. He's a pretender and a liar, nothing more. He plays for the camera, for the audience; he'll be whatever you want him to be. Why else did he run on HOPE and CHANGE with very little of substance? And that he did promise, he's backed away from?

More Mo Do...

Still, Obama’s reluctance to come out for gay marriage seems hugely and willfully inconsistent with what we know about his progressive worldview. And it is odd that the first black president is letting Andrew Cuomo, who pushed through a gay-marriage bill in Albany on Friday night, go down in history as the leader on the front lines of the civil rights issue of our time.

But for the president, “the fierce urgency of now” applies only to getting checks from the gay community, not getting up to speed with all the Americans who think it’s time for gay marriage.

As with “Don’t ask, don’t tell,” Obama is not leading the public, he’s following. And worse, the young, hip black president who was swept in on a gust of change, audacity and hope is lagging behind a couple of old, white conservatives — Dick Cheney and Ted Olson.

You notice Maureen doesn't really get seriously angry, right? She's toying with her words, keeping her right hook in a glove, barely scratching the teflon-faced IWON!. C'mon, Maureen, get in a clean hit!

As a community organizer, Obama developed impressive empathetic gifts. But now he is misusing them. It’s not enough to understand how everybody in the room thinks. You have to decide which ones in the room are right, and stand with them. A leader is not a mediator or an umpire or a convener or a facilitator.

Sometimes, as Chris Christie put it, “the president has got to show up.

With each equivocation, the man in the Oval Office shields his identity and cloaks who the real Barack Obama is.

He should draw inspiration from the gay community: one thing gays have to do, after all, is declare who they are at all costs.

On some of the most important issues facing this nation, it is time for the president to come out of the closet.

There you go Mo! Telling Barack Obama to 'show up', and ' come out of the closet'.

Don't you mean 'grow up', Maureen?

Or, since you've framed it this way (that BHO is a simple-minded poseur who only wants to win elections) maybe you should change your decoder ring.  Here...

Look at Barack Obama through the prism of Cloward-Piven. Things might just start to make Mo better sense, eh?

Weekend Video: "The Obama Legacy: A Message for Obama and Democrats"

Nice, very nice imagery, and music. h/t Darleen Click.

More good news: Michelle Bachmann is within a point of RINO Romney in Iowa polling; with Herman Cain in third place...
Romney, the national front-runner and a familiar face in Iowa after his 2008 presidential run, attracts support from 23 percent of likely Republican caucus-goers. Bachmann, who will officially kick off her campaign in Iowa on Monday, nearly matches him, with 22 percent.

“She’s up there as a real competitor and a real contender,” said Republican pollster Randy Gutermuth, who is unaffiliated with any of the presidential candidates. “This would indicate that she’s going to be a real player in Iowa.”

Former Godfather’s CEO Herman Cain, who has never held public office but has found a following among tea party supporters, comes in third, with 10 percent.
Which is to say, Tea Party favorites are polling a cumulative 33%, with RomRino at 22%.

I like Michelle Bachmann. She's both the fiscal and the social chops for the job. Herman Cain is most excellent as well.

Is it too early to dream of a Bachmann - Cain ticket? That would make my year, let me tell you.

But even a Romney - Huntsman card would be an improvement over dirty socialist BHO.

"Obama has jeopardized national security by drawing down the strategic reserves to, at best, save consumers about $1.50 per fill up when this 'flood' of new gasoline hits the market. To call this irresponsible would be an understatement."

Americans for Limited Government's President, Bill Wilson, sends this via email...
Study: Just 10 Cents Saved Per Gallon from Release of Strategic Reserves

June 24th, 2011, Fairfax, VA—Americans for Limited Government (ALG) President Bill Wilson today issued the following statement commenting on an ALG study estimating what the release 60 million barrels of oil over a 30 day period would save consumers about $.10 a gallon for gasoline:

"If one is generous and assumes yesterday's $4 drop was solely because of Obama and International Energy Agency, at best it will save consumers $.10 a gallon for gasoline. That works out to about $1.50 per fill up, or $6 for the month the additional gasoline is available.

"In other words, Obama has jeopardized national security by drawing down the strategic reserves to, at best, save consumers about $1.50 per fill up when this 'flood' of new gasoline hits the market. To call this irresponsible would be an understatement."
That 60 millions barrels? only good for 16 hour's worth of usage on the international market. Less than a full day.

What did BHO hope to achieve with this release of a relatively insignificant drop of oil from our vitally important strategic reserve? Why, only to help himself, of course. His poll numbers are flagging, the unemployment figures are staggering, and he's to blame for it all.
The Obama administration was also concerned about tight markets ahead of peak demand in the summer, when many Americans take to the roads for vacations. The jump in gasoline prices earlier this year was hurting Obama's support as the White House was gearing up for its re-election campaign.

"The cascade of bad economic news is poison for a president running for re-election," said Larry Sabato, political science professor at University of Virginia.

"But politics is about smoke and mirrors. This now allows the Obama administration to claim credit for the fall in oil prices," Sabato said.

Let's get this guy out of there in January 2013. He's a fool and a buffoon, and he's done terrible damage to our Republic.

In unrelated news, the Communist Party in China is also preparing for a celebration. Nice of them to loan BHO a prop.

A shame that it's so close to truth.

Photo Study: James Richard Verone, a Lifelong Democrat, I'll bet.

I've got wild staring eyes
I've got a strong urge to fly
But I've got nowhere to fly to
This guy, James Richard Verone, robbed a bank so he could go to jail to get health care. Not a large sum robbery; just a dollar, but with intent to defraud North Carolina out of potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars in health care.

LeftLibProggs frame this as a failure of our society to provide equal outcomes. I frame this as a simple man who's made a lifetime of poor choices, culminating in the poorest choice of all: opting in to jail, to get 'free' benefits. Go to jail for free; screw the taxpayers.

The idiot LeftLibProgg linked above decries that Government hasn't taken enough monies from the 'EVIL RICH' to make this gentleman whole, sound and his life one of equal outcome.

The second link, to Bag News Notes, isn't as simple-minded; but the guy does claim that Verone isn't making a political statement. Wrong. Yahoo! News...

"Verone also presented the view that if the United States had a health-care system which offered people more government support, he wouldn't have had to make the choice he did."

and

"He said he's hoping to receive back and foot surgery, and get the protrusion on his chest treated. Then he plans to spend a few years in jail, before getting out in time to collect Social Security and move to the beach."

So, we see someone here, James Richard Verone, who is so-far gone in his expectations of a nanny-state government that his plans for the rest of his life are to defraud the state of North Carolina for health care, then 'retire' to the beach on his Social Security. Made worse by a couple of lefty sites that want to use the guy as exemplar of our failed society.

It's failed only if he gets away with this.

Seems that James Richard Verone has been a lifelong Democrat to me, and now is a poster boy for the dirty socialists. Wild and crazy-eyed

Wouldn't his mother be proud of him.

Support for the Republicans in Wisconsin

Billboard along US 45 SB right before Silver Spring in Milwaukee

The #WiUnion LeftLibProggs are running recall elections on Republican Senators (those who didn't Fleebag the state when the going got tough) and Governor Scott Walker.

Seems the polling numbers are down for Republican Governors who won states and enacted tough measures to control spending (notice Tennessee's Governor is not on this list; for two reasons: Tennesseans are for the most part still of higher moral character than other, bluer states; with the exception of course of the large 'burgs like Nashville and Memphis and to a lesser degree Knoxville. And the LeftLibProggs here just don't have enough moochers to out-vote good people, as of yet).

So, why can't Team R keep the gains we've made at the state levels? The polls are down for Republican governors in most states. Seems we can win a cycle, but then lose the next cycle because Democratic dirty socialists have more to offer (freebies from the Treasury), and we wind up no better off than before, only pushed a little more farther away left from center.

Why?, you ask? Because many people are just not of the same moral character as were stouter people of previous generations. Collectively, our society has lost much of the moral character that was so pervasive when the founders founded; I blame this wane of morality on the drop in religious belief and participation; people of little faith tend to be more ME!-first oriented and moocherly, if you’ll allow that expression.

And don’t repeat to me that the founders wrote religion completely out of the Constitution. They did, if you insist, but they never knew I’ll warrant that the waning of religion would bring with it a twilight of character. Without some sort of faith-based structure as an ‘unseen helper agent’, a society with little or no moral character and backbone will go to hell (!) very quickly, no matter who wrote or how well-written is their Constitution.

Sounds like he's losing the NYT. I suppose after Weiner any of these far-LeftLibProgg whelps are under scrutiny.

But not by me. I won't watch any of his crap.

Sarah Palin should NOT be President!

This video proves it.

No, really! The person depicted in this video should NOT be President!

Dumb twat.

ACORN stays staked; oh, and best you cash in your 401-Ks and buy gold.

Andrew Breitbart's first trophy, ACORN, won't rise from the dead, at least not by Supreme Court fiat...

WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court won't hear an appeal from ACORN, the activist group driven to ruin by scandal and financial woes, over being banned from getting federal funds.

The high court on Monday refused to review a federal court's decision to uphold Congress's ban on federal funds for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

Congress cut off ACORN's federal funding last year in response to allegations the group engaged in voter registration fraud and embezzlement and violated the tax-exempt status of some of its affiliates by engaging in partisan political activities.

"Free Money". I've harangued Democrats, moochers and dirty socialists for their usage of "Free Money", and warned of the consequences to this nation when the chickens come home to roost. Here's a remarkable post comment, authored by wretchard (h/t JHoward)...

The original Free Money came from the taxpayer and therefore could be wasted without personal consequences. Politicians became adept at bribing people with their own taxes. But then along came New Improved Free Money, which had the property of being derived from taxes in the future. By borrowing, governments essentially levied a tax on generations unborn, because they would have to pay for the principal plus interest at some point, if the accounts were ever settled. Better yet, there soon arose New Improved Free Money Mega which derived entirely from confidence, by generating chains of transactions on financial instruments which could never be globally settled if called in all at once. It was a supertax consisting of an assumed risk placed surreptitiously on the taxpayers, both future and present, and it grew without many of them ever being aware of it.

From the viewpoint of the politicians it was a marvelous money machine. It seemed truly inexhaustible. By some wizardy the financial system had created instruments the equivalent of bills of taxation that neither had to be approved by Congress nor gave the appearance of being such. The banks had become a source of future and imaginary money. From the viewpoint of the moneymen dealing in Free Money, both in Original, Improved and Mega became the most lucrative line of business.

Now the Free Moneyists and their suppliers of Free Money were actually embarked upon a monumental Ponzi Scheme, which the neither wing of the Party of the Incumbency had the will to derail. While the Republicans might suffer a few more qualms of conscience than the democrats and detect in their nostrils something of the smell of sulphur, the sophisticates assured them that it was alright. The qualms were soon forgotten. The party raged on, unabated, at least until 2008.

When that crisis came the governments plugged the gap with even more Free Money. There was a sigh of relief, but now only at the cost of revealing the heretofore confidential clause with Mephistopheles. What the politicians did not realize, but which the bankers knew all too well at some level of denial, was the money was never truly “Free”. Ultimately it depended on a reasonable expectation that it could be settled. That tenuous link to reality was the hidden secret of the party. Ultimately Free Money was disseverable from the real economy, which means that sooner or later the chips will be called in. The devil would come at midnight; if promised more Free Money interest he might come later, but come he would.

To put it simply, more is owed than can be paid. On the day it all crashes, every holder of Free Money is going to have to take cents on the dollar. There will be asset writedowns, pay cuts, pension reductions, etc as the claims are paid out on its ruins. That the bankruptcy will be declared seems to me now very probable.

After that collapse, anything you have written on paper somewhere will be useless. That's your banked savings, white papers, stocks, 401-K's, everything. What's the real solution to this not-so-improbable collapse?

wretchard asks The Question...

In the end when it goes down, there will be a lot of people holding uncashable Free Money checks: entitlement expectations, housing vouchers, pensions, union wages that will be as worthless as the Confederate dollar. There will be a wailing and gnashing of teeth, and not a few leaps from 40 storey windows. Then when the bodies have been hosed off the sidewalk we will be back to Real Money, more or less. The basic challenge to the individual is how many Real Dollars he’ll walk away with after the smoke clears.

...that is already answered...

“Hyper-inflation is only another word for total default. The only way to avoid it is a government default on its debts only. Then we can switch from a worthless fiat currency to an asset-backed currency.” I smiled. “Gold brings freedom.”

Au, Ag, Pb. Have plenty of each, near to hand.

Oh, and to you dirty socialists - moochers, and your looter enablers who've made political hash of this nation and it's future, in your never-ending quest for a nirvana created of free monies and unicorn farts?

TANSTAAFL, bitches. That's a hard lesson you've yet to learn.

Kel-Tec KSG

Kel-Tec's KSG is a bullpup-style 14-rnd. 12 Gauge, for home defense.
The KSG is our first entry into the shotgun market. The size, shape and design are similar to the currently available Kel-Tec RFB rifle, but the KSG ejects downward, instead of forward. The KSG weighs 6.9lbs and is as compact as legally possible with a 26.1" overall length and an 18.5" cylinder bore barrel. Even with this compact size, the internal dual tube magazines hold an impressive 14 rounds of 12 gage 2-3/4" rounds (7 per tube). The simple and reliable pump action feeds from either the left or right tube. The feed side is manually selected by a lever located behind the trigger guard. The lever can be positioned in the center detent in order to easily clear the chamber without feeding another round from either magazine. A cross bolt style safety blocks the sear, and the pump release lever is located in front of the trigger guard.

The pump includes an under Picatinny rail for the mounting of a forward grip, or a light or laser. The included top Picatinny sight rail will accept many types of optics or iron sights. Forward and rear sling loops are built in, and a basic sling is included. The soft rubber butt pad helps to tame recoil.

I'll have one soon enough.

Austerity for Greece? BWAHAHAHAHAHA~!

Inevitable: A New Round of 'Harsh' Austerity
Will Greece become the first 'socialist' nation in the EU to default on it's debt, bringing a Lehman-style crisis to Eurozone financial market? If there is no '2nd Bailout' led by Germany and France, then yes, a default on debt is likely. Such a default would lead to a meltdown, affecting every financial player on the planet. So, what's to stop this incipient meltdown? Why couldn't Greece get a bailout?

Because Greece is socially and politically f*cked up, and it's obvious to anyone who would look. There's internal pressure from the citizens to push back against sensible austerity measures that are necessary for Eurozone nations to approve any further bailouts.

So, what are these austerity measures that cause such anger amongst Greek citizenry?

Austerity measure: "Collect more taxes from those who won't pay what they owe". That's not happening, because there's no government tax collection organ that's feared by anyone; Greeks pay only an estimated 20% of what they owe. There's a Tax Collection 'Union', fer chrissakes, that's as corrupt as any American Union.

Austerity measure: "Shut down the guilds that control employment". There's no 'open market' for employment; Mafia-styled 'guilds' control who can work in what profession. You can't be a pharmacist or a truck driver unless you know someone who can pull a few strings. That measure, required prior to the last bailout, is being implemented, but only superficially.

Austerity measure: "Cut back on early retirement and the overly-generous pensions and benefits given as satisfacticants to Greek citizens". There's strong, pervasive socialistic and communistic desires ingrained in the average Greek citizen; worse even than the desires inculcated in our own voting-Democratic-Party moochers (but Democrats are getting our moochers to Greek expectancy levels by 'Community Organizing' them, one dirty socialist at a time). These Greeks expect to be pampered from cradle to grave, with no strings attached that would require them to work or otherwise accept any cutbacks to their goodies. Ask a Greek socialist to retire at age 63 1/2, up from 61 1/2, and it's like they're being tortured...

Around 5,000 protesters from the Communist group PAME marched into Athens' central Syntagma square -- where demonstrations turned violent earlier this week -- chanting "the measures are killing us!"

French activists also performed with a three-meter puppet depicting a bloodied figure of Lady Justice to rhythmic drumming, in a gesture of solidarity with Greek protesters who have camped in the square for three weeks.

"What has changed with the reshuffle? Nothing," said Costas, a 22-year-old student who has been camping on the square since the beginning of the month. "We are not planning to leave unless they take back the measures."

(Rhythmic drumming? Didn't our own Wisconsin unionists employ that 'solidarity' tactic?)

Austerity measures prior to the last Eurozone bailout called for cuts to public-sector pensions and a few 'easy' changes. This time, there's a problem, because pushing these austerity measures requires fundamental changes to Greek social and governmental structures.
“The main problem is that he’s only been able to deliver on the parts of the austerity package that are easily enforceable and transparent and irrevocable,” such as cuts to public sector salaries and pensions, said Spyros Economides, a political scientist who co-directs the Hellenic Observatory at the London School of Economics. “Unfortunately, the rest of it is a complete mess.”

“It’s very easy to legislate,” Mr. Economides added. “The problem is to enforce legislation. There’s no enforcement mechanism. It’s all done for the eyes of the public.”

On Sunday, finance ministers from the euro zone will meet in Luxembourg and are expected to approve the next dispersal of aid. But if Mr. Papandreou fails to push through the new austerity measures that Parliament is expected to begin debating next week — with a confidence vote scheduled for Tuesday following a cabinet reshuffle last week — it could jeopardize the second rescue package that Greece needs in order to carry it through next year. A default would send the euro zone and world markets into a tailspin.
France and Germany will likely cave and give another bailout to Greece, to suspend any Eurozone crisis. I'm anxious to see if Papandreou, the socialist, keeps the coalition government intact; if the Greek citizenry force a no-confidence vote and secure a new election, who or what will they choose?

What's their next government choice that's farther left than Pappy ?

"Barack the Nobel Warman"

Correct me if I'm wrong...didn't this very same little prezzidint-man win the Nobel Peace Prize?

Surprisingly enough, that choice is now proven as just another "HOPEY - CHANGEY' mistake, made in haste by another collection of unicorn-fart-sniffing LeftLibProggs...

President Obama rejected the views of top lawyers at the Pentagon and the Justice Department when he decided that he had the legal authority to continue American military participation in the air war in Libya without Congressional authorization, according to officials familiar with internal administration deliberations.

Jeh C. Johnson, the Pentagon general counsel, and Caroline D. Krass, the acting head of the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel, had told the White House that they believed that the United States military’s activities in the NATO-led air war amounted to “hostilities.” Under the War Powers Resolution, that would have required Mr. Obama to terminate or scale back the mission after May 20.

But Mr. Obama decided instead to adopt the legal analysis of several other senior members of his legal team — including the White House counsel, Robert Bauer, and the State Department legal adviser, Harold H. Koh — who argued that the United States military’s activities fell short of “hostilities.” Under that view, Mr. Obama needed no permission from Congress to continue the mission unchanged.

The Nobel Peace Prize...are we sure that's what Barack Obama won? I might be thinking of the 'Goebbels Police Prize'...BHO has, after all, managed to grow the size and scope of the Police State of America, at the same time he's also noted for the well-nourished unemployment rate that he also promised to fix.

But as for Peace, of the Nobel Prize-winning sort? Not so much. BHO has proven himself a complete and utter failure, both in stablilizing the home economy and in peacefully advancing U.S. foreign policy.

Good choice, LeftLibProggs. Good choice.

Friday One-Hits; and a Friday Photo Study

* Jimmah Carter posts an obit in today's NYT: "Call off the Global Drug War". Explains much of his policies, that.

* Charles Krauthammer posts an editorial in the OC Register, pointing out that Democrats need Unions and Unions need Democrats. Nothing new and earth-shattering about that fact; just nice to see it getting ever more exposure. Two recent events prove that Unions and Democrats are in bed and furiously mating: the Boeing case and of course the Wisconsin debacle. Krauthammer...
Instructive cases all, demonstrating how those who lose popular support – Democrats at the polls, unions in their declining membership – can subvert and circumvent the popular will by judicial usurpation (Wisconsin) or administrative fiat (Boeing).

The Wisconsin maneuver ultimately failed, as likely will the assault on Boeing. In the interim, however, there is collateral damage – to U.S. exports, to the larger economy, to bankruptcy law, to free trade, to a constitutional system wherein the legislatures make the laws, rather than willful judges and partisan regulators.

But what are those when there are unions to appease and elections to win?
Damned dirty socialists, Democrats and Unions; a pox on 'em, really.

* Speaking of 'furiously mating', this photo of the street riots sparked by the Boston Bruins' ice-hockey win over the Canucks in Vancouver is said by Iowahawk to be 'The Best. Picture. Ever.'.

Wouldn't go that far, but that photo is an excellent example of far-out emotional ranging in potentially stressful and violent situations. And, coming off of Weiner's resignation yesterday, we needed a second look, for further cognitive study, of uncontrollable behaviors brought on by empathic emotional responses to situational stresses. Definitely the photo warrants a second look. Wouldn't you agree?

Nicholas Kristof and 'Our Lefty Military'

Nicholas Kristof editorializes in today's NYT that the U.S. military is one of the world's most perfect socialist models, and posits that we, being Americans, should force that leftist model down everyone's throats...
You see, when our armed forces are not firing missiles, they live by an astonishingly liberal ethos — and it works. The military helped lead the way in racial desegregation, and even today it does more to provide equal opportunity to working-class families — especially to blacks — than just about any social program. ...

That’s right: the military ethos can sound pretty lefty.

“It’s the purest application of socialism there is,” Wesley Clark, the retired four-star general and former supreme allied commander of NATO forces in Europe, told me.
OK, Private Kristof, let’s have Corporal Michael(Jabba the Filmmaker) Moore give up 100 pushups before his first box of donuts. Let’s watch the fireworks when a white General Officer dresses down Professor Gates. Oh, and see Amanda Marcotte and Markos Moulitsas Zúniga peel a couple hundred bushels of potatoes in the mess halls whilst Charles (Idiot) Johnson squeezes the sails and licks swabs the decks.

Or just mention to Kristof that the U.S. military is a purely voluntary service that has strict membership requirements that few of his pool of moocher supporters could meet; and that his overarching lefty ideology is already shoved down everyone’s throats with ever-diminishing ways to escape it’s encroachment.

Suspects Questioned in Wallow Fire.

No word on whether the possible miscreants will be spitted over hot coals until they give up information.

One thing for certain, they prolly won't be waterboarded.

Phil Neuenfeldt, President of Wisconsin's AFLCIO, makes even Jabba the Filmmaker look puny.

Unbelievable. What a monster.

Haven't missed too many doughnut runs, have you, Phil?

Massive Butt-Hurt in Wisconsin's Dirty Socialist - Union - LeftLibProgg world yesterday and forward.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court bitch slapped that lower court Judge, Sumi, for allowing her ideology to overcome her legal sensibilities. Not even a nice slap, but a heavy-duty high-amperage bitch slap...

¶6 IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that all orders and judgments of the Dane County Circuit Court in Case No. 2011CV1244 are vacated and declared to be void ab initio.

What ab initio means is that Sumi, sitting in her judicial robes in the lower court so screwed up the ruling that the Supreme Court won't even bother to send the matter back to her for her review (to remand) but takes it completely out of her hands, forever.

It's like taking an eraser to her ruling.

And, bitch slapping her around just a bit.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court correctly ruled that activist courts aren't allowed, under rule of law, to interfere with the legislative process simply because a judge's ideology makes her want to do so, a 'feel-good' ruling. If a doctor is supposed to operate on a patient for, oh, gallstones, how would you feel if he took off your left nut just because he doesn't like to do abdominal surgery?

Read this. It's a thing of beauty...

¶9 Although all orders that preceded the circuit court’s judgment in Case No. 2011CV1244 may be characterized as moot in some respects, the court addresses whether a court can enjoin publication of a bill. The court does so because whether a court can enjoin a bill is a matter of great public importance and also because it appears necessary to confirm that Goodland remains the law that all courts must follow. State v. Cramer, 98 Wis. 2d 416, 420, 296 N.W.2d 921 (1980) (noting that we consider questions that have become moot “where the question is one of great public importance . . . or of public interest,” or “where the problem is likely to recur and is of sufficient importance to warrant a holding which will guide trial courts in similar circumstances”). Accordingly, because the circuit court did not follow the court’s directive in Goodland, it exceeded its jurisdiction, invaded the legislature’s constitutional powers under Article IV, Section 1 and Section 17 of the Wisconsin Constitution, and erred in enjoining the publication and further implementation of the Act.

Let's see 'em trot out 'Jabba the Filmmaker' and a few busloads of SEIU thugs from around the nation, even do a recall of the fife and drum corps from the NYC Fire Department.

(Speaking of Michael Moore, 'Jabba the Filmmaker', here he is, just for kicks and giggles! )

Jabba the Filmmaker

Go home, Wisconsin hippies, take a bath and find a job. Welcome to the Real World.

Ohmy, oh my. Oh. My. Shocking. Deplorable. Kzin!

An attack video on Janice Hahn, a Democrat running in Los Angeles in a special election for to fill a vacant congressional seat. What she did whilst a city councilperson was to hire known gang members to 'talk' to other gang members; 'Hood-Speakers-to-Animals' (there's your Kzin referent!); paying these experts out of public funds to 'speak' to other 'hood speakers'. Or something.

This is backfiring as we speak. I don't think this video will be here for long; so here's a 'place keeper' so as to not leave a glaring hole in my post.

Enjoy!

Might not matter who is the GOP nominee...

...because this BHO fellow is beatable.
“It was truly a landslide and virtually none of us in the media, the political industry or the polling fraternity had foreseen its dimensions,” according to “The Pursuit of the Presidency 1980,” written by several Washington Post reporters. “But the elements for the upheaval had long been present.”

I’m not prepared to predict a Carter-like defeat for President Obama, since it depends on several unknown factors, from who the GOP nominee will be to the state of the economy and the country. But I am prepared to say right now the elements for a 2012 upheaval are in place, much as they were prior to the Reagan landslide and as they were prior to the 2010 epic repudiation of Obama and Democrats. And unless the economy swings around soon and in a fairly substantial way, Mr. Obama will be terrifically vulnerable.
Obama's supporters aren't doing so well...
Three Groups: African-Americans, College/Young Professionals, and Low Income Families. All have seen disproportionately more economic challenges than the general population during Obama's term in office. If the economy is their top issue, then they cannot support the man who has made their lives worse since he took office.
Hope and Change.
That worked out well, didn't it?

Sexting Therapy: "Weiner's pulling out"

Ha! The NY Post...
Weiner's pulling out -- for a little while, at least.

Serial-sexting Congressman Anthony Weiner headed off to rehab and will seek a leave of absence, as Nancy Pelosi and other Dems demanded he quit following his admission to sending private Twitter messages to a 17-year-old girl.

Weiner's office said the randy rep left this morning for "professional treatment," and will take a leave of absence from the House as he tries to become a better family man.

“Congressman Weiner departed this morning to seek professional treatment to focus on becoming a better husband and healthier person,” Weiner’s office said in a statement. “In light of that, he will request a short leave of absence from the House of Representatives so that he can get evaluated and map out a course of treatment to make himself well.

"Congressman Weiner takes the views of his colleagues very seriously and has determined that he needs this time to get healthy and make the best decision possible for himself, his family and his constituents."

Meanwhile, Pelosi and DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz today said Weiner should resign, calling his sending explicit photos and raunchy emails to women all over the country "indefensible" and a distraction.
I gots your 'sexting therapy', that what we do to make geldings, for to remove hormonally-related bad behaviors. As, ri'cheer.

Arizona's Wallow Fire: Photos...

...found here.

Democratic Zombies attack Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin's emails have exactly what to do with anything of importance going on in the world right now?

These crappy partisans will search and dig for anything they can find with which to attack Sarah Palin, but of course didn't have time to search out Barack Obama's records prior to his immaculation (his college grades, his past associations with violent radicals and dirty socialists, his past association with a 'preacher' who hates the majority of Americans because they are white, &c.).

Let 'em search. We'll remember.

Unhinged Professors vs. ...China?

We've seen unhinged professors around here, haven't we? Right down the street from me there lives an unhinged far-LeftLibProgg forever-Bush-hating Professor who is also an outspoken blogger. But he is not the subject of this post. There's plenty more where he comes from; most are quietly doing their damage inside and contained to classrooms. But some are making news by lashing out at their perceived 'enemies', their...students.

This article from the John William Pope Center (h/t SDA) highlights two incidents that occurred in April 2011...

The Angry Ones

Two professors recently broke with academic norms when they lashed out in unhinged fashion directly at conservative students.

Professors making shocking political statements is nothing new: most people involved in higher education are familiar with such outrages as University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill calling the victims of the 9-11 terrorist attacks “little Eichmanns.”

Traditionally, though, faculty members have refrained from making attacks directly at students for political reasons. But that is no longer the case. There were two such incidents in one month (April).

Such behavior raises important questions. Is this part of an emerging pattern? If so, why did such behavior surface now? What should schools do about it?

In the most publicized case, a campus-wide email recruiting campaign by the University of Iowa College Republicans called "Conservative Coming Out Week" so enraged one professor that she responded with a mass email of her own saying “F--- You Republicans.”

The other incident occurred at Davidson College, a small, prestigious private school outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. This time it was a professor’s abusive letter to the editor of the student newspaper attacking a conservative student columnist. While it did not receive anywhere near the national attention that the Iowa episode did—possibly because no profanity was involved—it perhaps caused more of a stir on its own campus than did the Iowa episode.

The roots of this phenomenon most likely lie in the political imbalance on many campuses, which results in an atmosphere allowing left-wing professors to avoid criticism of even their most extreme views. Dissenting opinions, particularly by students fearful of lowered grades and ostracism, were once uncommon on campuses. But today there is a growing—and increasingly vocal—conservative student presence.

For the two professors involved, it appears that having their sacred political cows gored by swaggeringly aggressive conservatives on the hallowed ground of the Ivory Tower was too much to bear, and they erupted with a torrent of angry words.

The Iowa case readily illustrates these dynamics. Ellen Lewin, a women’s studies and anthropology professor who specializes in gender issues, claimed that the main reason for her fury was the College Republican’s expropriation of the term “coming out.” The Republicans’ wordplay was an obvious attempt to draw a parallel between the tendency of campus conservatives to hide their opinions from professors and fellow students and the tendency of many gays to remain in the “closet,” in both cases for fear of facing discrimination and hostility.

To be sure, the Iowa Republicans “coming out” email was hardly subtle; it mocked left-wing beliefs by announcing an “Animal Rights Barbecue” and ridiculing union members for their part in the Wisconsin budget protests. But while Lewin may have considered the email to be “obscene,” it was officially sanctioned by the university administration. Furthermore, its so-called offensiveness pales in comparison to some of the things campus conservatives frequently are forced to accept. For instance, at least five colleges have made recorded speeches by unrepentant convicted cop-killer and Black Panther member Mumia Abu Jamal part of their commencements.

At Davidson, German professor Scott Denham’s fuse burnt more slowly than did Lewin’s, but he exploded much the same. For four years, senior Bobby DesPain was a political columnist for the student newspaper, The Davidsonian. His opinions were unabashedly conservative and often unpopular on the highly liberal campus. On March 31, his column claiming that President Obama lacked leadership appeared; it was the final straw for Denham, who fired off a letter that began by asking, “Is Bobby DesPain leaving soon? We, your loyal readers, sure hope so. He gives the intellectual climate here a bad reputation.”

He continued, “This last belch of his tops most of the others I’ve read over the years on the stench-o-meter of silliness. “ He concluded the largely ad hominem assault with “We’d hate for Davidson to attract more of this sort of illogical thinker, regardless of politics.” ...

Indeed, by reacting to students’ differing opinions with such unprofessional and acrimonious emotional outbursts, one must wonder about the offending professors’ fitness for their jobs and what kind of judgment they will use in campus business such as grading and serving on search, tenure, and promotion committees.

For instance, Denham is the committee chair for the Graduate Fellowships Committee. Since, according to the committee’s website, the committee “seeks to identify early in their Davidson careers students who are likely candidates for graduate fellowships and scholarships,” can he be expected to recruit conservative students for such honors? It would appear to be unlikely.

Given that conservative beliefs on campus seem to be on the ascendance, and given that some of America’s most extreme intellectuals have long found a sanctuary in the Ivory Tower (and have grown comfortable with winning one-sided debates), we can probably expect to see more incidents like those at Iowa and Davidson. Should academia greet such transgressions with a shrug, as Davidson and Iowa are doing, it will encourage them and their silencing effect.
In doing so, it will also reject the spirit of free inquiry that is the academy’s greatest virtue. And without that, academia will cease to matter in the long run.
We allow our kids to be indoctrinated from age 6 to at least age 22 by what seems to be a glut of left-liberal teachers...from the unionists on government dole all the way up to professors who publicly gloat their left-liberal-progressive views. And we wonder why this nation is on the verge of collapse.

Just today, China claims we are defaulting on our obligations...

China ratings house says US defaulting: report

"In our opinion, the United States has already been defaulting," Guan Jianzhong, president of Dagong Global Credit Rating Co. Ltd., the only Chinese agency that gives sovereign ratings, was quoted by the Global Times saying.

Washington had already defaulted on its loans by allowing the dollar to weaken against other currencies -- eroding the wealth of creditors including China, Guan said.

Guan did not immediately respond to AFP requests for comment.

The US government will run out of room to spend more on August 2 unless Congress bumps up the borrowing limit beyond $14.29 trillion -- but Republicans are refusing to support such a move until a deficit cutting deal is reached.
You hear that, America, especially those on the moocher Left? The curtain is starting to close on our free-wheeling big-spending ways.

It has begun.

...that was a mistake.

TIME Magazine's new cover: "What Recovery?"

You're welcome.

h/t Business Insider , where you'll also find

20 WAYS THE ECONOMY HAS GOTTEN WORSE SINCE BARACK OBAMA BECAME PRESIDENT
By almost any measure that you can think of, the U.S. economy has gotten worse since Barack Obama became president. Unemployment is higher, the cost of food and gas are skyrocketing, the number of Americans living in poverty has spiked dramatically, the housing market is in nightmarish shape and our national debt has absolutely exploded.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama continues to prance around the country declaring that "we can live out the American dream again" and that what we are experiencing right now are simply "bumps on the road to recovery". But such mindless platitudes are of little comfort to the millions of American families that are slowly descending into poverty or the tens of millions of American families that are already there. If this is the "change" that Barack Obama was promising then he can just keep the change.

Barack Obama is proving to be one of the worst presidents in all of U.S. history.
Yep. Dirty socialists who vote for whomever offers them the mostest are killing this Republic. You know who you are.

So do we.

Eastern Arizona's Wallow Fire: Big Footprint

This is an overlay of the Wallow Fire (from here), as of late last night, with Middle Tennessee superimposed at the same scale for reference. Burned: so far, 607 square miles, as of this morning.

All of the terrain consumed in this fire was Ponderosa Pine and Aspen, at high-altitude (7000 to 8000 ft.), and amazingly rugged and beautiful. This fire is a disaster.

Here's a photo I took in 2005, 3 years after the Rodeo-Chediski fire consumed a large swath of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in 2002 (some 690 sq. mi.). You can see the limited regrowth, but it was then a barren wasteland.

After Rodeo-Chediski, near Joe Tank Rd.

This, also from circa 2005, is/was located just south of Eagar, near Nutrioso.

United Nations tries to 'butt-in' on U.S. sovereignty, by directly attacking our 2nd Amendment rights to Keep and Bear Arms

From Forbes' columnist Larry Bell...

U.N. Agreement Should Have All Gun Owners Up In Arms

It may not come as surprising news to many of you that the United Nations doesn’t approve of our Second Amendment. Not one bit. And they very much hope to do something about it with help from some powerful American friends. Under the guise of a proposed global “Small Arms Treaty” premised to fight “terrorism”, “insurgency” and “international crime syndicates” you can be quite certain that an even more insidious threat is being targeted – our Constitutional right for law-abiding citizens to own and bear arms.

Yes, Larry, we are aware of the United Nations' continuing push to deprive us of our rights. It's an ongoing fight. So, what's the latest push these collective less-than-U.S. dirtbags are pushing to attack our rights?

While the terms have yet to be made public, if passed by the U.N. and ratified by our Senate, it will almost certainly force the U.S. to:

1. Enact tougher licensing requirements, creating additional bureaucratic red tape for legal firearms ownership.

2. Confiscate and destroy all “unauthorized” civilian firearms (exempting those owned by our government of course).

3. Ban the trade, sale and private ownership of all semi-automatic weapons (any that have magazines even though they still operate in the same one trigger pull – one single “bang” manner as revolvers, a simple fact the ant-gun media never seem to grasp).

4. Create an international gun registry, clearly setting the stage for full-scale gun confiscation.

5. In short, overriding our national sovereignty, and in the process, providing license for the federal government to assert preemptive powers over state regulatory powers guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment in addition to our Second Amendment rights.

Exactly what The United Nations and their allies within our own borders have always wanted to do, to make the world 'safer' for what is their ultimate dream: a one-world government, under U.N. control. First, they would have to disarm Americans. Yes, many of our own citizens believe in this goal; my guess is that most of the Left - Liberal - Progressive 'thinkers' in this nation would be more than happy to allow the United Nations to move right in and take over.

One particular tool of the United Nations' anti-gun activities in America is very apparent to me: an ongoing blogging campaign by an United Nations employee to strengthen ties with LeftLibProgg Social Media bloggers, and by using 'blast posting' to capture g00gle search engine attention, to anti-gun news stories circulating for as long as possible.

That person is United Nations employee and anti-gun blogger Mikeb302000. I've pointed out, on numerous occasions, that this guy is a United Nations employee, living in Rome, ostensibly working for the 'U.N. Food Programme', but by his online activities (directly and breathlessly pumping out dozens of blog posts weekly that always seem to point to unfortunate gun deaths here in the U.S., blaming those deaths on our citizen's having the right to own guns) he is an obvious agent provocateur pushing exactly the same agenda that the United Nations (those who sign his paycheck) pushes.

Mikeb302000 has never put up a post on 'United Nations World Food Programme(s)', he and his staff have never strayed from the anti-gun theme. Mikeb302000 is a one-note singer, and it's a sour note if you are an American. His blog motto "arma virumque cano", "I sing of arms and the man": Mikeb302000's song is of the seizing of our arms, disarming the many.

Here's the best answer I've heard to Mikeb302000 and to the United Nations. Bill Whittle, Pajamas Media blogger, created this video to philosophically disprove the attacks Mikeb302000 and his 'outside agency forces' at the United Nations pile on our rights.

If you read this post and agree, link it and let's work together to thwart the United Nations and Mikeb302000's plans to disarm American citizens.

How's the weather in Rome, Mike?

Vos vigilo.

Weiner will be out of a House...

...if not today, then by Friday. Oh, which House, you ask? Read on.

No sane person is defending this little twerp. Not even Chuck-U Schumer, the New York Senator who is his 'Daddy' figure. Republicans are wisely pointing fingers at any Democrat who supports this little bitch.

Andrew Breitbart, you're a gentleman and a scholar, and deserve accolades. The amount of venom spewed in your direction by the Left is a badge of honor. Keep up the good work, man, and we need 100 more just like you.

Keep a close eye on Huma Weiner. If Huma under-reacts to this episode, that’ll just fuel the long-standing speculations that she’s had her face buried in Hillary’s crotch for all these years now.

Just look at this crooked picture: Weiner and ‘Weiner’ have been married for what, less than a year? Traditionally they are in the period of time still defined as a honeymoon; the shine’s not even nearly polished on the trailer hitch just yet. What, Huma can’t command a Weiner’s attention any better than this?

If there’s not some quid pro quim here, I’ll be surprised.

Sit down, Wisconsin. We'll show you how it's done.

Good for Tennessee.

Let's see what the devils do next.

Tennessee Trumps Wisconsin: Kills Teacher Collective Bargaining. Dead.

To fix public schools, you have to control public schools.

And there’s little control when teachers unions, with their self-serving agendas, question every cost-cutting proposal and reform on the table.

That’s why so many state governments have taken swift action to limit the power of organized labor in public schools. Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana, Idaho and Michigan were the first, and Tennessee added itself to the list on Wednesday.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam affixed his signature on House Bill 130 and Senate Bill 113, ending collective bargaining and giving local school boards the full authority to operate their districts in the manner they choose.

...

Nobody elected the unions

Tennessee lawmakers were careful to leave a few key items off the discussion table, including personnel and staffing decisions, how to use grant money, the evaluation process for employees and whether or not payroll deductions can be made for political purposes.

That means the end of the road for the treasured union concept of seniority, particularly when it’s applied at layoff time.

Democrats: "GET YOUR FREE STUFF HERE! (just remember to vote for us, so it keeps coming)".

There is no politician anywhere who should be allowed to 'skate' to a re-election, be it a Tea Party candidate, a Republican or (especially) a Democrat.

The new Democratic party has an edge, however. They are now the party who offers 'free ones' (Other People's Money) to their 'clientele' (moochers) for votes. It's difficult for any person of low self-confidence to overcome the lure of free monies, especially now when the leader of the new Neo-Socialist Democratic Party is a skilled 'Community Organizer' who can swoon voters with vacuous, meaningless words like "HOPE" and "CHANGE".

Any politician who's been in office is susceptible to the lure of the Office and the pleasantries of the Beltway. So, to keep each one of 'em honest and staunch, keep the fires lit under their backsides. Especially those who are desirous of re-election.

As for Democrats? Is there any hope left for that now Far-Left neo-Socialist Party?

Mob-rule would have everything given out for free. Democrats want to promise just that; in a climate of limitless wealth, they could afford to offer their desired nirvana where everyone is exactly alike, with 'equal outcomes' for everybody. Is there limitless wealth? How long can the printing presses run? Are we Broke? Yes, we are.

Democrats are now promising their voters 'free stuff' in exchange for their votes. Our Great Debate today is to whether we should allow Democrats to get away with this tactic; if our Republic fails due to the overwhelming debt we are incurring, the answer will be plain to all, but it'll come too late. How much 'giveaway to the Poor and Needy' is enough? There must be a 'happy medium' between what we give to those who 'want' and really do 'need; allow for those who really 'need' to get some (temporary) help, and, most importantly, separate the politicians from their ability to suck the Treasury for limitless monies with which to buy votes.

Here's some thoughtful reading, for those with the necessary intellectual stamina (h/t Darleen Click)...
My answer is that one way to describe the difference between liberals and conservatives is that liberals want government spending to be the independent variable that determines tax levels, and conservatives want government spending to be the dependent variable determined by taxes.

...

I’m a conservative because I think it’s democratically healthy to confront the hard question about taxes first and directly, and then let our answer to that question determine the budget perimeter for our welfare state. It is democratically unhealthy to proceed the way liberals have habitually dealt with the problem, by promising generous programs that will “pay for themselves” or even “pay for themselves many times over,” and only later, after people have come to expect and depend on the stream of government benefits, fess up about the taxes required to sustain them.
Please, don't be susceptible to the lure of free stuff promised by a Democratic politician for your votes! TANSTAAFL (There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch).

Best for the Republic to Vote Conservative, and keep the fires lit under their asses, or they will CHANGE over time.

Another huge fire in Eastern Arizona

...near my old stomping grounds.
GREER, Ariz. (AP) -- Authorities ordered more eastern Arizona residents to evacuate their homes Sunday as a 225-square-mile blaze that has grown into the third-largest in state history crept toward more buildings.

The Apache County sheriff's office told an unknown number of people east of the town of Alpine along U.S. Highway 180 to get out as the forest fire crept closer.

Alpine itself has been under mandatory evacuation orders since Thursday night, along with the community of Nutrioso and several lodges and camps in the scenic high country.

Photos courtesy WMI Central

...

Crews have zero containment of the fire, which has been burning for a week.
Remember Rodeo-Chediski, the monster fire that burned over 468K acres? That one nearly took out Show Low. This one is more isolated; farther from any populated areas. Magnificent country, and a damned shame.

Media Matters, Mikeb302000 blog welcomes Democrat's newest anti-2nd Amendment partner, al Qaeda, to their fold.

Celebrating, as the bloggers at Mikeb302000 always do when either 1) Someone gets killed by a gun (they RUN to blog about it) and 2) Someone agrees with their mangy LeftLibProgg asses.

In this case, Mikeb302000 followed the lead of Eric Boehlert, Chris Brown and Soros-funded Media Matters and RAN to blog that al Qaeda is desirous of obtaining 'Fully automatic weapons at Gun Shows because Americans let their stupid citizenry actually buy guns to protect themselves!'.

Just look at Mikeb302000's list of posts since June 3:

Mikeb302000 lives in Rome, and works for the United Nations. I believe him to be an agent provocateur, paid for his efforts to discredit United Stated gun owners. But the left's American bloggers follow him like they've rings in their noses.

I left the bastiches a comment...
Oh! I Tweeted that to my 1,160 followers...

I'll blog it too.

Thanks! for bringing your new partner organization's tactics to my attention!

(How's the weather in Rome, BTW? ;D )
Here's the video these 'holes are so applauding...

One thing for certain, differing from the molesters at the TSA: we DO 'PROFILE' and will likely look askance at any of these damned al Qaeda sorts at OUR gun shows. al Qaeda would likely have better success getting their weapons from the ATF than from any gun show I've attended.

al Qaeda just lost 5 more jihadists today. More tomorrow, let's hope. All of 'em eventually.

Way to go, Democrats, Media Matters, Eric Boehlert, Mikeb302000 and your sycophant bloggers, for using al Qaeda to attempt to make your fetid ideological points.

As I said, #Assholes. Every damned one of them.
