New Yorker Magazine, forthcoming 7/21/08: Terrorist OBAMAS on the COVER

NOT photoshopped.

This is the real deal.

The New Yorker is a liberal rag. Why do you suppose we'll see a cover featuring Barack Obama and M'chelle, fist bumping together in the Oval Office, with Baracky dressed like a tribal version of Osama bin Laden (whose picture is on the wall above the fireplace, in which an American flag is burning), and with M'Chelle dressed like a Ché Guevara revolutionary? Hmmmm?

There's satire and parody involved, I suppose. I guess New Yorker wants to make fun of the stuff some Americans believe; to hardy-har-har the e-mails circulating that are showing Baracky in Muslim drab (that never happened...did it?)

This is going to backfire. New Yorker will hear from the nutroots. The MSM backlash is already starting.

From ABC's Jake Tapper...
"Knowing the liberal politics of the magazine, I believe the magazine's staff when they say the illustration is meant ironically, as a parody of the caricature some conservatives (and some supporters of Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y.) are painting of the Obamas.

"But it's still fairly incendiary, at least as these things go. I wonder what the reaction would be were it the Weekly Standard or the National Review putting such an illustration on their covers." [They would be CRUCIFIED! But if it were John McCain and his lovely wife, that would be just fine.. -ed.]

"Intent factors into these matters, of course, but no Upper East Side liberal -- no matter how superior they feel their intellect is -- should assume that just because they're mocking such ridiculousness, the illustration won't feed into the same beast in emails and other media. It's a recruitment poster for the right-wing." [I don't think many on the Right will consider this anything but funny...after doing a double-take and making sure we're not holding the ONION -ed.]

"This is as offensive a caricature as any magazine could publish," says a high-profile Obama supporter, "and I suspect that other Obama supporters like me are also thinking about not subscribing to or buying a magazine that trafficks in such trash." [Oh, you freakin' crybaby, Get Over It. The filth your ilk's disseminated and the lies you've repeated about George Bush would make a thousand similar magazine cover illustrations seem relatively mild. We've a lot of catch-up to do... -ed.]
I'm glad to see the old New Yorker lighten up and poke a bit of fun at the Obamessiah.

Maybe there is some Hillary revenge behind this (given New York City's loss of a possible President and the cash she could direct their way)...you never know, given she's a Clinton.

Yes, this cover is a pretty thing, isn't it?

Nothing I would ever give the New Yorker a red-state cent over, though.

Barry Obama's unnatural...gift.

Gift of gaffe, maybe?

Dan Collins titles this pshop "Sir Baracky Receiveth the Sword of Hopeyness from teh Watery Tart". And that was before I added M'chelle.

(Oh, the dullard to Barry's left? I've added none other than John Edwards, and given to him an uncharacteristically penitent pose, with (gasp!) his hair, covered. Oh, the indignity!

Because I really shouldn't be neglectful of any of the members of Barry's...posse. I guess since Uncle Ted's in such a bad way, I should expand the outreach. I won't have any problems with that...Obama can attract some real winners, eh?

;D

Tennessee GOP incurs Obamessiah's wrath! (We wonder who really runs team Obaaama? Is there a Queen in the House?)

Team PW's Dan Collins links this article where The Chosen One hath spoken thusly...
"But I also think these folks should lay off my wife," he told "GMA" as his wife chuckled beside him.

...

"But I do want to say this to the GOP. If they think that they're going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful. Because that I find unacceptable,"
Well, Mr. Obama, then you should corral M'chelle and keep her off the campaign trail. If you feel she can't handle criticism, tell her to STFU, stay at home, and bake cookies for the kids.

I want to say this to the Tennessee GOP: Good Job! Finally, you are getting off your creaky old bones and hitting some sensitive nerves. It's about time.

If the Tennessee GOP wants to take the lead as 'bad boys' in this campaign, then so be it. I'll support Bill Hobbs on this one.

Let's keep some bright lights and high pressures on the Democrats. After all, we've seven years of BDS to remember.

M'Chelle vetoes Hillary as VP: CATFIGHT!!!!!!1111!!!!

Drudge links Robert Novack, who opines...
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Close-in supporters of Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign are convinced he never will offer the vice presidential nomination to Sen. Hillary Clinton for one overriding reason: Michelle Obama.

The Democratic front-runner's wife did not comment on other rival candidates for the party's nomination, but she has been sniping at Clinton since last summer. According to Obama sources, those public utterances do not reveal the extent of her hostility. [emphasis mine]
Who knew?

Can you imagine the "Dream Ticket", if elected, with the ultimate spectacle being these two shrews battling for four years?

Happy thoughts, in a way. Brings a smile to my stone face.

;D

Oh.

The photochop without the silly poster.
