Maxine Waters: "Why so many black elected officials getting caught up with this new OCE organization...?"

This video is the best outtake 'skit' The Daily Show has ever cut, AFAIC. Jon Stewart and Larry Wilmore discuss Maxine Waters' use of the "RACE CARD"...

Wow. Nice to see the skewer used against some of the Left's pet oxen for a change.

Oh, and to answer Maxine Waters, BECAUSE YOUR CROOKED ASS IS DUMB ENOUGH TO GET CAUGHT! Sheesh. Get away with corruption you think you can?

Tennessee Hospitality fires Walt Baker. No word on whether or not they will denounce Dan Rather.

Walt Baker, out, for forwarding that RAAAAACIST! Michelle Obama looks like a monkey e-mail.

Dan Rather, however, lives on to speak RAAAAACIST! commentary on Chris Matthews' MSNBC Sunday show...

Related: get ready to pay a Tennessee Tax on your free coffee and bagels at the hostel of your choosing. Tennessee Hospitality will denounce that, as soon as they hire a new CEO.

Another Tennessee E-Mail Scandal: Walt Baker does something dumb, dumb, dumb.

Third time's charm for Tennessee, and you can bet the leftists will pump up the volume yet again. From WSMV...
Walt Baker spent Saturday apologizing for an e-mail he sent to a few close friends, including a legislative aide, the president of the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau, and members of the press.

"I am sorry for my actions. I am sorry for the offensive contents of the email," Baker said. "I can only hope those that know me can find it in their hearts to forgive me."

The e-mail starts off saying, "I don't care who you are, ... this is funny." It then compares first lady Michelle Obama to Tarzan's sidekick Cheetah, a chimpanzee. At the bottom of the e-mail is a picture of Michelle Obama in an awkward moment with her lips pursed. Next to it is a picture of a picture of a chimpanzee with a similar expression.

As the CEO of the Tennessee Hospitality Association and a representative of the state's hotels and restaurants, Baker is trying to make amends.

"I'm disappointed in myself," he said.

But many feel the damage is already done.

"Who wants to come to a state where people think like that? This is far reaching and it's damaging," said District 3 Metro Council Member Walter Hunt.

Hunt is outraged by the e-mail, and can't believe Tennessee is in a negative light again over email.

"How can somebody be so stupid after it happened twice before," he asked.
That image is all over the internet; it took this long for Walt Baker is come across it? And he must've been drinking or stoned, to not think twice before hitting the SEND key.

Dunno. We live in times when a 6-year-old kid can make a gun with his hand and get thrown out of public school; how can a well-positioned adult ever expect to get away with such a monstrous no-no?

Well-Deserved Ass Whuppin', Part GIF UPDATED!

From the video I posted earlier...

This video left by elfie in comments (not published; he still hasn't learned any real manners) gives us further insight into the jumbled and sad life led by Thomas Brusco.

The fellow is a simple sort of fellow, a Vietnam Vet, an ex-con himself, who was glad to get to ride in the front seat of a squad car for a change...

He adds new information: the guy who started the fight is another ex-con, supposedly a murderer who will become a not-ex-con because of Mr. Brusco's altercation. Or so Mr. Brusco says. Again, there's plenty of room in Mr. Brusco's skull to have...inventions.

But one thing he's right about...

"Don't fuck with old senior citizens, they'll surprise you once in a while..."

Oh, and his George Bush crack? I agree with that. I would never have voted for Bush if there was another, better opponent facing him. But Gore? Kerry? Might as well have voted for a full-speed-ahead Marxist-Leftist like Obama. A slower torture, but the end result would be the same.

A well-deserved Ass-Whuppin', care of an Old Man.

What happens when a young black guy, likely trying to impress his coterie of pretty young thangs, cries 'RAAAAACIST'! a few times too many? And strikes an old codger first?

Listen to what he says after he sat back down.

Just like a mouthy liberal. Can't take the whupping he so rightly deserves.

How's that old adage go? "Don't mess with an old man, because he'll kill you." Or maybe just embarrass you in front of anyone wired up on the intratubes~!

Bill Clinton to Ted Kennedy, re: Barack Obama..."A few years ago this guy would've been getting us coffee."

Don't you love it when Democrats get caught in their own flypaper?

From Game Change: The 2008 Presidential Election.

Ben Smith at Politico...
One of the enduring mysteries of the 2008 campaign was what got Ted Kennedy so mad at Bill Clinton. The former president's entreaties, at some point, backfired, and the explanation has never quite emerged.

I've finally gotten my hands on a copy of Game Change, in which John Heliemann and Mark Halperin report:
[A]s Hillary bungled Caroline, Bill’s handling of Ted was even worse. The day after Iowa, he phoned Kennedy and pressed for an endorsement, making the case for his wife. But Bill then went on, belittling Obama in a manner that deeply offended Kennedy. Recounting the conversation later to a friend, Teddy fumed that Clinton had said, A few yeas ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee.
"Fetch my coffee, boy, and while you're at it pick up Hillary's dry cleaning. Oh, and polish Sarah Palin's pumps, there's a good laddie..."

Not only does Bill Clinton become exposed as a closet racist (again!) but Harry Reid also gave up 2008 racial statements, for which he's come forward with a surprise apology...
The top Democrat in the U.S. Senate apologized on Saturday for comments he made about Barack Obama's race during the 2008 presidential bid.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada described then-Sen. Barack Obama as "light skinned" and "with no Negro dialect."
Even Joe Biden had some disparaging comments about BHO, calling him 'articulate, bright and clean'.

These Democrats. Just can't trust 'em, can you, Barry?

Courtesy Call, to the White House...

This, seen at protein wisdom, is illustrative of Games Presidents Play and the Consequences of Poor Choices. Darleen Click...
To expand, I suspect that Barack Obama, child of privilege and born “black” into a left-dominated culture that fetishized him, grew up feeling entitled to his good fortune, regardless of real effort. His whole life he has had people scrambling to do for him, to see him as “the first black [fill in]” so as to be able to say to themselves “see what I did? I helped achieve this so I’m proving I’m not racist.”

Obama wanted healthcare “reform” but handed it off to Pelosi and Reid. Indeed, he bristled at any dissent, so much so, he cut off communication with Republicans on the issue last March. “I Won” Obama feels entitled to unquestioned deference — along with media facetime on his terms and whims. Just let him eat his waffle or make his tee time.
Abdulmutallab shouldn't have assumed a seat on any commercial flight, especially one bound for Detroit from Amsterdam, given the warning signs he had displayed. We knew this kid was trouble. Wheels didn't turn; people didn't act. Top Management must pay for this.

Janet Reno Napolitano should go. Today would be just fine, Janet, for a nice resignation letter. Or, if Barry has the ballz, a (fuzzy?) cowboy boot to your ass.

Dick Cheney...
"As I’ve watched the events of the last few days it is clear once again that President Obama is trying to pretend we are not at war. He seems to think if he has a low key response to an attempt to blow up an airliner and kill hundreds of people, we won’t be at war. He seems to think if he gives terrorists the rights of Americans, lets them lawyer up and reads them their Miranda rights, we won’t be at war. He seems to think if we bring the mastermind of 9/11 to New York, give him a lawyer and trial in civilian court, we won’t be at war.

“He seems to think if he closes Guantanamo and releases the hard-core al Qaeda trained terrorists still there, we won’t be at war. He seems to think if he gets rid of the words, ‘war on terror,’ we won’t be at war. But we are at war and when President Obama pretends we aren’t, it makes us less safe. Why doesn’t he want to admit we’re at war? It doesn’t fit with the view of the world he brought with him to the Oval Office. It doesn’t fit with what seems to be the goal of his presidency – social transformation—the restructuring of American society. President Obama’s first object and his highest responsibility must be to defend us against an enemy that knows we are at war." [emboldenings mine]
Good to hear from a real man, one who knows what's needed.

Listen up, Barry. You're supposed to take charge, make the right decisions, have the buck stop at your desk. A good start would be booting Napolitano.

Or yourself.

"The Goddess of Implicit Whiteness": Richard Hoste on Sarah Palin (he wishes!)

Another Going Rouge book review starts out with this interesting paragraph...
White Goddess

It has been suggested that Sarah Palin is a sort of Rorschach test for Americans. The attractive, religious and fertile White woman drove the ugly, secular and barren White self-hating and Jewish elite absolutely mad well before there were any questions about her qualifications. The loyalty she inspires in the White masses is similarly based on gut feelings rather than rational analysis.
You know, I could not read that without fixing it...

The attractive, secular and thundering Black man drove the left-wing Marxist-type intellectual White auto-racists (clustered in their fascist cesspools of envy appeasement) and the Jewish liberal elites absolutely joyous well before there were answers to the many questions about his qualifications. The loyalty he inspires in the Black masses is similarly based on gut feelings rather than rational analysis.

FTFY, Richard Hoste.

“Whereas phthonos, envy, is censured because it seeks to harm another, zelos, emulation, is praised because it encourages a person to attain excellence on his own merits.” (Aristotle, “Rhetoric,” 2.11.1)

Michael Steele: "Republican Renaissance" | Dana Milbank: "the crow was flying"

I received this e-mail last night from Michael Steele, the titular head of the GOP...

From the tone of that e-mail, I didn't think Mr. Steele had quite gotten the message RE: NY23 and our annoyance for initial GOP support for RINO super-loser Scozzafava (who had funneled $1M to Dede then got royally screwed when she endorsed the eventual Democrat winner, Buck Owens) so I searched for some nice pre-elective dirt for which to smear on Mr. Steele (as is my wont to expose these self-serving politicians and pundits what annoy me).

But, surprisingly, I found Mr. Steele to be very well-spoken in regards Doug Hoffman pre-Scuzzy dropout and later post-Scuzzy, prior to the vote Nov.3. Prior to Ms. Scozzyfavors dropping out, Michael Steele did not bash Doug Hoffman, and actually threw RINO Dede under the bus after her fainting spell. Now, post-election, Mr. Steele proclaims "the Republican renaissance has begun."

Then I found this: post-election, Dana Milbank, a long-time political pundit now writing for the Washington Post, authors a column called "The Washington Sketch"...
Michael Steele's gotta crow
Why, that RAAAAAACIST! bastard! Who does he think he is, calling Michael Steele a crow?

From the article...
On Wednesday morning, Steele was trying, oh so hard, not to sound as if he were gloating. "Oh, no, man, we're not crowing, we're just smiling," he told Smith. But asking Steele not to crow is like telling a rooster to admire the sunrise in silence. Within moments of Steele stepping to the lectern for his post-election news conference at Republican headquarters, the crow was flying.
Anyone care to guess how quickly the Left would come down on any FOX News correspondent or Right-leaning columnist who proclaimed "the crow was flying" of, say, Barack Obama or Michelle Obama or...any of the Racialists who would now play the race card? Why, the reaction would be instantaneous and severe!

Look, you RACIST! bastard Dana Milbank, you can't get away with this sort of thing, especially since you're the SOB who started with the nonsense that Sarah Palin's supporters shouted racial slurs during a campaign rally last October. You think that's forgotten, asshole?

Dan Collins said it best...
Think of Milbank as the sphincter of journalistic integrity.
To which I would add, think of Milbank as a real and present racist bastard.

Academic Institutions: The Heart of the Leftist Politics that are taking over America

The heart of American Leftism isn't found on the cross streets of Hollyweird Heights and ACORN Place, or hidden away in various SEIU or AFL-CIO Union halls. Those flawed institutions might be considered as elements of the hands and feet. (Oh, the asshole(s) of the Leftist body? well, the media certainly fulfills that role.) No, you need look no further than your own State Institute of Higher Learning, in the halls of mindless academe, to find the throbbing heart.

But, you say, shouldn't you consider that the academics make up the brain? Are they not the best of the best, the ones with intelligence?  No, the brain would be the politicians, and the laws they pass and enforce. Politicians, although elected by voters, are dependent on the heart; the academics prepare the voters to accept the politician's direction without much thought. And, the politicians, the 'brains', give direction to the various peripheral organs, the Unions, the ACORNS, and of course to the assholes. These academic leftists aren't really possessed of the diversity of intelligence necessary to be considered as a functional 'brain'; they simply accept and force a circulating dogma and continue to pump it back into circulation...carried throughout the body in the form of their mostly unquestioning students and graduates.

No, academics represent the heart. In their structured and isolated Ivory Towers, they collectively ignore thought that is considered 'heretical' and force compliance to far-left memes. There is little 'thinking' involved in that process.

Dr. Ron Lipsman pens an excellent essay posted today at American Thinker entitled "Swimming Upstream: The Life of a Conservative Professor in Academia". Well worth your study.

Here's the essence of the Leftist Elements that Dr. Lipsman succinctly points out that these institutions promulgate without questioning...
The overwhelmingly liberal atmosphere on campus is well known. In the one place in society at which there should be diversity of thought, exploration of conflicting ideas and a propensity to challenge conventional wisdom, we have instead a mind-numbing conformity of opinion and a complete unwillingness to entertain any thought or idea that deviates from the accepted truth. That conformity encompasses:
  • The legitimacy of virtually any program that promotes the interests of minority and female faculty, staff and students, even if the program is blatantly racist or sexist -- justified by a belief that America's past unjust treatment of blacks, American Indians and Japanese-Americans, and its unfair treatment of women render such discrimination necessary and lawful.

  • A multicultural mentality, which preaches that America's Eurocentric, white, Christian heritage is responsible for colonialism, imperialism, racism and sexism, and that its replacement by a culture that "celebrates diversity" will transform the US into a more just and humane society.
  • A distrust of free markets and democratic capitalism, and its severe limitation in favor of a centralized, government-controlled economy that will redistribute the wealth of America more fairly.

  • A denigration of religious belief and its replacement by the "worship" of secular humanism, with mindless environmentalism occupying a central place in the new religion.
Barack Hussein Obama spent a decade in the thrall of these leftists in various academic institutions. Columbia is a hotbed of leftism; Harvard is staunchly insular and even farther left. In Barack Obama they finally found a Voice, an actor that was then sent along to the brain of the beast...into politics. Before entering the political arena, he trained the hands and the feet, as a community organizer; he has the wide-eyed and loving service of the assholes in the media; now he's putting together a complete Leftist package that will usurp the United States of America.

Where are the Conservative voices? We are being rejected, ejected. Slowly but surely the mindset that brought this country it's greatest moments of success is  being moved out of the mainstream. That movement signifies, I believe, the beginning of the end of the Republic.

What does this mean? Well, I believe the Leftism that is our current direction now is a cancer of our collective soul, an abnormality, a degradation. We need a conservative resurgence, a different direction. We won't get that as a product of these academic institutions, if they can help it.

Oh. Sarah Palin is not the product of any of these far-leftist-dominated institutions.

Neither was Ronald Reagan. Just sayin'.

And, send your donations (and your kids) to Hillsdale, or a like-minded institution of higher learning, NOT to a State-run facility. That includes MTSU, where there abides a far-left Professor of Guitar.

Dr. Ron Lipsman's book "Liberal Hearts and Conservative Brains".

(Oh, that image courtesy of LIFE; it brings a smile to my stone face.)

I just found this, written by a Columbia professor (h/t Antiquitopia)...
By the end of the 1980s—when I was an undergraduate—it had become clear to seemingly everyone in authority that the notion of "Greatness" was a tool of illegitimate power; Adler and Hutchins were racist and sexist in their choices of texts; their valorization of the "Western World" made them complicit with imperialism and worse. "This is more than a set of books, and more than a liberal education," said Hutchins. "Great Books of the Western World is an act of piety. Here are the sources of our being. Here is our heritage. This is the West. This is its meaning for mankind."

Sets the exit stage left, doesn't it?

Vote Early, Vote Often! #34

Iowahawk's "None Dare Call it Art" contest will open soon to public voting. Of course there's plenty of excellent entries (I like #1, the minimalist "Racist Pixel") but this is for $33.18 in prize money, guys! That's enough cash to fund my next three beers at LP Field, so just damn!

When the culling begins, you'll need to get over there and vote. Remember, #34 is the winning ticket. If it makes the cull.

I'm thinking it just might.

(Oh, Smitty1e is carrying on about his #9 entry. Good luck with that! )

The Other McCain: Remember: the winning number is between 8 and 10

"Independent Prosecutor for ACORN": called for by the Chicago (!) Tribune

Just how much of a massive blow to Democrats and Leftists will James O'Keefe III's and Hannah Giles' $1300 sting operation become? And will Barack Obama, deeply dug in with ACORN and SEIU, be ensnared?

Already we've seen ACORN dethroned and the Main Stream National Media embarrassed. The New York Times, old gray lady that she is, was caught standing around in her knickers looking for bunnies. Now that the story is unfolding, she can chase and play catchup. Or run damage control, more likely.

Today's Chicago Tribune opines...
Independent prosecutor for ACORN

ACORN is in very deep, very public trouble, and the U.S. attorney general should appoint an independent prosecutor to investigate.

Independent prosecutors should not be appointed lightly. But in this case, there are good reasons why Atty. Gen. Eric Holder and other political appointees in the Justice Department should step aside. First, although no allegations have yet touched the Obama campaign, ACORN did have significant ties to the campaign and other progressive causes. Published reports show that ACORN and its subsidiaries received some $800,000 from the Obama campaign to get out the vote. Second, ACORN is intimately tied to the Service Employees International Union, one of President Barack Obama's most powerful and vocal supporters.

ACORN's close ties to the progressive movement and Democratic Party mean that there will be little public confidence if Holder decides not to pursue an ambitious investigation and ultimately prosecute. [emboldenings mine -ed.]
So the groundswell begins. A bit late, but we on the Right can look back and point out "We told you so!"

Across the pond, the UK Times Online pokes and funs at the expense of "US Liberals"...
Candid Camera pranks smoke out US liberals

A CONSERVATIVE student armed with a video camera and a wicked sense of humour is humbling some of the most hallowed liberal institutions in the United States using a technique described as “Candid Camera for the internet age”.

In one of his video coups James O’Keefe, 25, telephoned the offices of Planned Parenthood in Columbus, Ohio, a pro-choice abortion group that is a target of the right, and asked to make a donation to pay for abortions for minorities.

He added: “There’s way too many black people in Ohio.” The official simply laughed and agreed to his terms.

When he called its Idaho branch, a helpful member of staff told him he “absolutely” could restrict his donation to abortions of black babies, raising no objection even after he explained that his goal was to shield his son from future competition from minorities for university entry.

Oh, you haven't heard of that one, have you? Where O'Keefe proved that the love of a leftist's life (if he or she, you know, survives an abortion), Planned Parenthood, is nothing more than a progressively racist, eugenicist front? Here ya go...

"There's way too many black people in Ohio. I'm just trying to do my part."
"For whatever reason, we'll accept the money."

Andrew Breitbart, media genius, is now employing O'Keefe and Giles as reporters. Breitbart's Big Government website first released and published these ACORN sting tapes, so lefties, direct your hate at the correct target. FOX had the audacity to air the tapes, but the marketing strategy, the timed releases, is all Andrew Breitbart's. CNN? Surely you didn't expect to see this sort of thing there; they are comprised of cowards, from the top down.

"Kudos to Andrew Breitbart. He’s making it fun to be a conservative again.".

Yeah, Patterico, he's a Good Man. Note that somewhere, for future referent, would you? ;D

Witch Doctor Obama: RACIST! African George Bush, Condoleezza Rice: NOT Racist!

As usual, the Left cries RACISM!, when such crying serves their purpose. When similar situations occur against Conservatives, such attacks doesn't serve their purpose to protest, or when one of their own team pulls a racist! stunt, they collectively will ignore it. The Left spent much time hating on Condoleezza Rice; Michael Steele suffered a photoshop attack by Steve Gilliard; we saw vicious attacks on Clarence Thomas, Colin Powell, Thomas Sowell, most of those involving race.

Personally, I disfavor both images. I probably would've carried one like this.

(Oh, h/t for the two images I combined to make an animated .gif, to SondraK (she has these cool rollovers that Blogger can't do). The other image comes from Baldilocks.

SHAMES for the MEDIA: Van Jones escaped scrutiny. Why? Because he WASN'T a Republican, and everyone who did investigate him is RACIST!!!111!!

Where was the 'watchdog' media during the lead-up to the Van Jones resignation? Andrew Breitbart takes the MSM talking heads to task...

Now that White House "Green Jobs Czar" Van Jones has resigned, what's next?

Inevitably, the American mainstream media - ABC, NBC, CBS, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Time, Newsweek, et al - must be held to account for sitting on the sidelines as this major story kept building without them, went viral on YouTube, and then became so large that a key appointee of President Obama was forced to step down.

But with their decision to ignore the Jones story, they may have actually done Mr. Obama far more harm than good: Who vetted this guy? How did he get past the FBI? What did he say, and how did he answer the infamous seven-page questionnaire that all Obama appointees were required to fill out? Inquiring Freedom of Information Act minds want to know.

For most people in this country, the resignation was the first they had heard of Van Jones. For this sin of journalistic omission, there's institutional media blame. Bias is too tame a word for the utter shamelessness on display: Only Republican scandals - real and imagined - matter.

Just as Mr. Obama was not even cursorily investigated, Van Jones, a fellow "community organizer," was not given the slightest media attention when named as an unaccountable "czar" selected to oversee billions in taxpayer money for the ambiguous purpose of "green energy." And that despite having a body of damning evidence that could be found with a single Google search by an ADHD-addled high-school journalism student. [emboldenings mine]

Andrew Breitbart shames Katie Couric, Brian Williams, and every other "Big Media" talking pompous head who ignored this story. The credit for Van Jones' abrupt departure goes to FOX News' Glenn Beck, Gateway Pundit (Jim Hoft), and my favorite BCaster, the lovely Liz Stephens (oh, and that guy she VLOGS with, what's his name... )

Obviously we must vet the media.

Oh, this quote from an article on Politico deserves some attention, framing the crying, crying from the Left...
"If Jones left under pressure from the Obama administration then we are in for a very long and painful four years,” said Melissa Harris Lacewell, a political science professor at Princeton University.

Ya think? What, did you forget the last 8 years, wherein President Bush was castigated almost daily for his 'crimes' (which seem, in retrospect, and compared to BHO's endeavors, quite harmless)?

Never to forgive, never to forget.

Yes, Melissa, it's going to be a very, very long and painful 1231 Days, 03 Hours, 25 Minutes, and 13 Seconds. And counting, down.

Van Jones, Obama's choice 9/11 Truther nutcase, on the 'Under the Bus' watch. A poor choice, BHO, but keep 'em coming!

OK, I've saved some hilarity from the Memory Hole.

Some leftists put up a site, ostensibly to 'save' Van Jone's job from evil rethuglican reich-wingers (h/t Ace's commentators). Some of these 'signatories' are hilarious.

Someone said that many of these signatures (that were still living in my cache) were being trashed by the site owners, and lamented that they were heading for the memory hole. I saved them, for whatever reason.

(NOTE: some of these comments contain RACIST!!!!111!1!!!!111!! stuff that I'm not responsible for. I am NOT a racist. I oppose Obama because and solely for the reason that his leftist thoughts and deeds are truly repugnant to me. Of course, Leftists use the RACIST!!11!! label because that's their only recourse when confronted with what are clear and concise facts opposing anything Obama (or any Leftist philosophies) have to offer. It's easier to slam a straw man than to face the fact that Leftivism (be it fascism or socialism) is detrimental to the U.S.A.'s forward progress.

That said, here's the saved petition comments...

As a former San Franciscan, I have always been deeply impressed by social justice leader Van Jones. The right-wing media's attempts to bring him down are shameful and unfortunate. The bullying tactics of the right must not be allowed to succeed.

Ace has hammered Charles Johnson of the ever-decreasing in size Little Green Footballs (CJ's become completely and utter nutty, for whatever reason, post-Obama election) for his support of Van Jones...
Well, let me caution Charles Johnson about something, since he is clearly on such a jihad against what he perceives as religious-based or religion-influenced thinking.

As my friend once observed:

You can have a religion that doesn't have a God.

You cannot, however, construct a religion that doesn't include a Devil.

Think about it, CJ. Who's faith-based here? Who's letting a bit of cultism infect their logic?

It ain't me.

Just because His Satanic Majesty Glenn Beck says it, and it's echoed by his demoniacal consort Michelle Malkin, doesn't mean it's untrue.

The Prince of Lies mixes truth with lies, remember, so his lies gain credibility.
As for Van Jones? If he lasts until next Wednesday, I'll be surprised.

Obamas Presidency is more a FAILURE than Bush's Presidency, measured at the 6-month mark

There's a trillion reasons why.
Thirty-seven percent (37%) said they believe the Obama administration is a "failure," while 51% consider it a "success" and 11% say it's still "too soon to tell."

An identical question was asked of the Bush administration in an August 2001 CNN/Gallup/USA Today survey. At the time, 56% said the Bush administration was a "success" while only 32% considered it a "failure."
Listen, congresscritters, We are not Socialists. Obama and his far-left cronies in congress have seized the Democrat party, and the reigns of power, and most Americans just don't care for these far-left policies. We are a center-right nation; this forced drag (CHANGE!!11!!) to the far-left is not going to progress smoothly.

You cluster of off-center politicians can't take our values away and expect smiles and ready compliance in return. You can't turn to moochers and do-nothings, looters of the majority of successful people, the type ACORN persuades to vote, and then represent only those worthless churls at the expense of hard-working producers. You can't run this nation into the ground and expect to get away with it, for the benefit of the sorriest of society. That's exactly what is happening; all of this attack on producers for the benefit of the useless is part and parcel of Obama's far-left CHANGE methodology, which is now beginning to show some fray around the edges. HOPE is turning to grim reality: we are not accepting Obama's far-left CHANGE.

And this anger is not "MANUFACTURED". It is not "RACIST" (I would oppose any color of far-left politico; and would welcome any color of Conservative Representative who reflected my views). Stop with the 'astroturf' accusations already. I haven't ever heard from any Republicans, not since I refused to donate any to John McCain's (that funny guy who was not Conservative) election. I shred RNC letters asking for donations.

Obama, you said you'd govern from the center. Drag you skinny ass there, then, and remember: you took an oath to the Constitution. CZARs, indeed.

Henry Louis Gates calls RACIST!: Now set to Capitalize on Victimization; aided and abetted by Barack Obama

Talk about a set-up: the final question in Barack Obama's fourth Prime Time Press Conference (did you know that President Bush had only four Prime-time Press Conferences total in his 8 years in office?) featured an exercise in comedic relief* and, straying from his previously foppish and muddled answers on Health Care Reform (the so-called 'reason' for the presser in the first place) opened up the RACIST! AMERICA! IS RACIST! canard.

Professor Gates' arrest last week for 'accidentally' breaking into his own house (he somehow misplaced his keys and, after returning from China, had to 'jigger' his door lock; someone called the cops because, you know, it looked like the place was being burglarized. Then, Prof. Gates smart-assed the cop. That's a no-no, Prof, you should know better than to get smart with a cop.) unleashed a firestorm of racial angst. President Obama brought it to national attention last night, saying the Cambridge police acted 'stupidly' (what, for doing their jobs? For not accepting a smart-assed response to their legitimate concerns?) and that America was, yes, RACIST! .

Obama was smallified for saying that. He added further ignorance to what was already bogged down as a ruined press conference.

Prof. Gates is setting up for a monster lawsuit, following the proven tried-and-true course work defined for Leftist - Liberal - Progressive Victimology.

Next time you need to 'break in' to your own house, learned Professor Gates, buy and use a key hider. Or call your neighbor, with whom you might leave a spare key. Or something that bespeaks forethought. I'll bet if learned Prof. Gates had come home and found that his house had been burglarized, he'd have screamed FOUL! POLICE DIDN'T CARE IF A BLACK MAN'S HOUSE WAS ROBBED!, or some other police put-down. Because what this is is simply hating on the police.

What a maroon.
*Oh, the comedic relief. I watched the presser. Funniest moment: Obama said ‘jigger’. Talked of 'jiggering' the White House door. Then said he’d likely get shot, or something. Brought down the house.

Couldn’t save the presser, though. 54 minutes of spin; 1 minute of comedic relief.

Next time, Baracky, bring a dancing monkey.

Sonia Sotomayor, no, that's Simona Halep, to get Breast Reduction Surgery. (Sonia, though, needs some RACIST! reductions)

Romanian tennis star Simona Halep (photo, above) wants 'em out of the way. The ponderousness of all of that swinging, swaying momentum(s); those inertia of dual dueling motions. Slowing down her returns, she says...
"I do not believe that physical appearance has an effect on performance, so I help with anything in the sport. My mind bust when I go on the field and even if I were sporting, I would have felt very good. (My Breasts) inconvenience me, it's very hard with them. It's a weight in addition to confound me speed response. I can not go on very well. Shoot me down. Nothing in life is not like me even though sport was not all I was doing surgery", revealed Halep. "Surgical intervention should take place last year, but probably will use it in autumn, because the postponement might cause problems in the column."
Spinal column, I'm assuming. Not being an avid tennis watcher.

There are southern California (well, to be fair, anywhere) debutantes who would kill for a matching set like those.

Oh, and Sonia Sotomayor is a member of the RACIST! group La Raza (means "The Race"; as a motto (since denied, but never disproven "For the race everything, outside the race nothing".)

That sort of association would've disqualified an unempathic white guy, most likely.

President Bush's 'evilness' is now Barack Obama's 'evilness'. Democrats watch their candidate morph (AKA GROWING UP)

With the final Senate Democrat vote counted, Barack Hussein Obama has lost another foreign policy initiative and has failed to deliver on yet another campaign promise -- this time, the promise to close the U.S. 'Torture' Base in Guantánamo. From Victor Davis Hanson at NRO...
...I think we now have come to the end to the five-year left-wing attack theme of Bush "shredding the Constitution."

Except for the introduction of euphemisms and a few new ballyhooed but largely meaningless protocols, there is no longer a Bush-did-it argument. The Patriot Act, wiretaps, e-mail intercepts, military tribunals, Predator drone attacks, Iraq, Afghanistan — and now Guantánamo — are officially no longer part of the demonic Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld nexus...
[emphases mine.]

Obama promised cadres of simple-minded Leftists -- those KOS-Kid diarists, the Atriosidiots, the upper-crusty leftys at Sadly, nOObs, Madam Huffingblows -- all are shaking their heads and wondering, what went wrong? We fought for and elected this pretty blow-up doll pezzydent, this vacuous agent of CHANGE, who was supposed to bring on an age of enlightenment; all the world's nations were supposed to adore us; all the tortures and wiretaps and..and...BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW, BITCH~! whaa happened ?

Let's ask Karl Rove what happened...

Flip-Flops and Governance Our president isn't quite as advertised. By KARL ROVE

Barack Obama inherited a set of national-security policies that he rejected during the campaign but now embraces as president. This is a stunning and welcome about-face.

For example, President Obama kept George W. Bush's military tribunals for terror detainees after calling them an "enormous failure" and a "legal black hole." His campaign claimed last summer that "court systems . . . are capable of convicting terrorists." Upon entering office, he found out they aren't.

He insisted in an interview with NBC in 2007 that Congress mandate "consequences" for "a failure to meet various benchmarks and milestones" on aid to Iraq. Earlier this month he fought off legislatively mandated benchmarks in the $97 billion funding bill for Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mr. Obama agreed on April 23 to American Civil Liberties Union demands to release investigative photos of detainee abuse. Now's he reversed himself. Pentagon officials apparently convinced him that releasing the photos would increase the risk to U.S. troops and civilian personnel.

Throughout his presidential campaign, Mr. Obama excoriated Mr. Bush's counterinsurgency strategy in Iraq, insisting it could not succeed. Earlier this year, facing increasing violence in Afghanistan, Mr. Obama rejected warnings of a "quagmire" and ordered more troops to that country. He isn't calling it a "surge" but that's what it is. He is applying in Afghanistan the counterinsurgency strategy Mr. Bush used in Iraq.

As a candidate, Mr. Obama promised to end the Iraq war by withdrawing all troops by March 2009. As president, he set a slower pace of drawdown. He has also said he will leave as many as 50,000 Americans troops there.

These reversals are both praiseworthy and evidence that, when it comes to national security, being briefed on terror threats as president is a lot different than placating and Code Pink activists as a candidate. The realities of governing trump the realities of campaigning.
There's more; Karl Rove 'splains why BHO has failed to deliver on the home front as well. But, on the home front, we see the potential of great harm to the Nation if BHO's barely-concealed 'reparations' social programs hit the economy...
Mr. Obama campaigned on "responsible fiscal policies," arguing in a speech on the Senate floor in 2006 that the "rising debt is a hidden domestic enemy." In his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention, he pledged to "go through the federal budget line by line, eliminating programs that no longer work." Even now, he says he'll "cut the deficit . . . by half by the end of his first term in office" and is "rooting out waste and abuse" in the budget.

However, Mr. Obama's fiscally conservative words are betrayed by his liberal actions. He offers an orgy of spending and a bacchanal of debt. His budget plans a 25% increase in the federal government's share of the GDP, a doubling of the national debt in five years, and a near tripling of it in 10 years.

On health care, Mr. Obama's election ads decried "government-run health care" as "extreme," saying it would lead to "higher costs." Now he is promoting a plan that would result in a de facto government-run health-care system. Even the Washington Post questions it, saying, "It is difficult to imagine . . . benefits from a government-run system."

Making adjustments in office is one thing. Constantly governing in direct opposition to what you said as a candidate is something else. Mr. Obama's flip-flops on national security have been wise; on the domestic front, they have been harmful.
Harmful, indeed. We'll be lucky to survive the damage BHO intends to inflict on our economy.

But really, we knew what he was about. We knew that sitting in that RACIST! Black Liberation Theology Church, listening to Reverend Wright and Father Phleger spew their hatreds for all those years, after having attended Columbia University and slept through the Harvard Law school, then immersing himself in the teachings of Known Terrorist Bill Ayers and playing politics in the nation's worst political hell-hole, that we were getting a man who was a creature of his past. A past that molded him for one thing and one thing only: to assault the Constitution of the United States, and CHANGE! things to a more leftist, socialist, 'feel-good' sort of Nation.

We asked for it, so's here it is.

As far as President Bush, VDH, take it from here...
... what was the hysteria of 2001-2008 about other than simple politics?

I doubt we get any more movies about ongoing renditions, redactions, any more Checkpoint-like novels, any more waterboarding skits and reenactments, any more late-night comedians doing their Bush tapped, intercepted, tortured, renditioned, tribunaled poor suspect X routines.

And I guess as well that the good old days of supposedly flushed Korans in Guantánamo and Omar the poor liberationist renditioned to Cairo are over. We are now in the age of a sober and judicious President Obama who circumspectly, if reluctantly and in anguish at the high cost, does what is necessary to keep us safe.

And we won't see a brave young liberal senator, Obama-like, barnstorming the Iowa precincts blasting a presidency for trampling our values with the shame of Guantánamo, wiretaps, intercepts, renditions, military tribunals, Predators, Iraq, etc. That motif just dissolved — or rather, it never really existed.

It short, all the fury, the vicious slander, the self-righteous outbursts, the impassioned speeches from the floor, the "I accuse" op-eds by the usual moralistic pundits — all that turned out to be solely about politics, nothing more.
Nothing more, Democrats.

You've chosen poorly. Actually, you chose a man who has had, at least on foreign policy issues, to grow up.

And, from his moment forward, you won't have President Bush to bash, anymore.

How's that feel, hmmmm?

"Live Free or Die": Mark Steyn's Hillsdale College lecture

This lecture, delivered March 9th at Hillsdale College and adapted to print and web access last month, stands as one of the best reads I've seen on the subject of encroaching Big Government, ever.

Mark Steyn posits five increasingly insuffocating stages of Big Government: Stage One, the massive expansion of a government (Mark places the U.S., with our recent economic 'stimuli' injections, as well into the 'Stage One' phase.) During Stage Two, we see the inevitable government control phase that follows the stimuli. We see Stage Two activities now, and hardly masked. Ask the ex-CEO of GM, and the almost ex-CEO of Bank of America what they think. We are what we eat; since we, America's people and many corporations, have dieted on Government 'Stimulus' (yes, the government 'cheese' programs count), we also have to accept the inevitable coalescence of government controls that are now flowing in our arteries. It's just a matter of time before we have to accept whatever we're told to accept.

Stage Three is the 'what you can think' phase. Since Government is providing so much for you, shouldn't you pay attention to what we (an overlord sort of committee comprised of the great, the Left's, best 'thinkers'; no doubt to include the best free-thinkers the Harvard's and Columbia University's can ooze), feel is right for you to think? Stage Four, the ominous 'now, here's what you can't think, or say, because if we hear you in public conversation saying those racist, sexist, homophobic things, you'll be sent to jail.' Once-Great Britain is now firmly a Stage Four participant, as Mark Steyn illustrates.

Stage Five, the final stage, is the current European model. The State gives one everything one could possible want or need; every group is considered equal; work is an afterthought. I posted just last week this video that's explaining how and why cultures die. Mark Steyn sums up the European State quite nicely...
The key word here is "give." When the state "gives" you plenty—when it takes care of your health, takes cares of your kids, takes care of your elderly parents, takes care of every primary responsibility of adulthood—it's not surprising that the citizenry cease to function as adults: Life becomes a kind of extended adolescence—literally so for those Germans who've mastered the knack of staying in education till they're 34 and taking early retirement at 42. Hilaire Belloc, incidentally, foresaw this very clearly in his book The Servile State in 1912. He understood that the long-term cost of a welfare society is the infantilization of the population.
But a controlling nanny state is exactly what our infantile Left wants, exatly what they voted for... a sea (at sea?) CHANGE. This CHANGE will destroy the very essence of America, our heritage and culture, if it progresses as has the European model. Since we've accepted Stage One, is there any way to get off this mindless ship what's heading for an iceberg?

Where are we, America, heading? Are we just going to accept what the Europeans accepted, become a Eurosocialist state? Or will something give along the way? When will enough be enough?

Ric Locke points out (in comments on Jeff's post, h/t BTW) that we (Stage One, America) might see the fall of the European socialist model, before we too go over the cliff...

What’s going to be really interesting, provided anyone’s still around to notice, is what will happen in Europe and Japan.

The U.S. economy has been carrying the Europeans for at least the last half-century — not just in the obvious ways, like we spend for defense so they don’t have to, but in trade imbalances (some of them not easily accounted for, like us requiring the drug and aerospace companies to finance research out of their own pockets) and providing a credible reserve currency. I had a Frenchman rejoice over the election of Sarkozy, on the ground that now the French could get back to what they do best: fucking Americans.

Note to the French, and other Europeans: that’s over. No socialist regime has ever succeeded without an outside subsidy; the fact that the subsidy to Europe isn’t readily visible doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist, and it does.
